IBAF: No positive drug tests in WBC
By Enrique Rojas
ESPNdeportes.com

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico --
More than 200 tests have been taken and no player has tested positive for any banned substances in the World Baseball Classic, the International Baseball Federation president told ESPNdeportes.com.

Aldo Notari said that the Classic has been a clean and exemplary tournament so far.

"We took 90 tests to players on the official rosters before the Classic, and have been taking two daily tests per team since the beginning of the tournament," said Notari before Monday's game between Cuba and the Dominican Republic at Hiram Bithorn Stadium.

"No player has tested positive so far," said Notari. "Zero positive tests after more than 200 of them."

The World Baseball Classic has been organized by Major League Baseball and the players' union, and they also have gotten support from the International Baseball Federation and the World Antidoping Agency.

The rules regarding banned substances in the Classic are the same as in any other international competition, which means they will be much tougher with their punishments than Major League Baseball, the Korean and Japanese Leagues as well as the Caribbean Leagues.

The Board Idiot

What I want to know is...what happens if a MLBer tests positive. I mean, will they just be banned from international play (in which case it might not be a big deal) or from international and MLB play?
