The Yanks are coming!

From WGAL 8 and the Associated Press:

State Declares Drought Watch

LANCASTER, Pa. --
The state Department of Environmental Protection has declared a drought watch for all 67 counties and is asking people to reduce water usage by 5 percent.

DEP Secretary Kathleen McGinty said two-thirds of counties are 50 percent or more below normal precipitation levels and the rest have deficits of at least 25 percent.

A drought watch is the lowest of three levels of drought status. A drought warning calls for a voluntary reduction of 10 to 15 percent and a drought emergency includes mandatory reductions of at least 15 percent.

The state last had a drought emergency in 2002.

5%?!?! So if you drink 100 ounces of water a day you're supposed to drink 95 now?! That's not too bad. I have a feeling we'll get back on track when hurricane season gets going and we get socked with rain.

I'm not so sure. I think it's going to be one of those years. Hot days and no rain.

Yeah, but we did get snow last week...so I'm not sure about it being terribly hot, though it is 73 right now.

I don't care that much anyways. I'll be in NY in the summer as always and probably showering a few days a week, so even if it's 5% at NY, I'll be fine. No big deal for me.

Take it from someone who knows. It's going to be one of those summers. ;) :erm:

Maybe. But again, all it really takes is one hurricane to come up, and it'll be alright.

Nope. Once we get started it will take a will to fix it. Believe me, it'll get to the point that we'll need two or three hurricanes. And even then, we'll start getting into flash flooding problems.

We'll see. Don't forget about those fronts either...and rain is expected later this week. Again, it's gonna be alright.

And by "later this week" I CLEARLY meant...NOW!

Well, one day after is later I suppose.

We shall see. I think that the Lower Susquehanna Valley isn't getting as much as we are, but only time will tell.
