Longtime NFL quarterback and Wisconsin native Dave Krieg has purchased a stake in the Green Bay Blizzard, the arenafootball2 team announced this afternoon.

Krieg, 49, joins the ownership group led by Brian Noble, the team’s president, and coach Bob Landsee. Noble and Landsee also are former NFL players.

“Dave decided to become part of us back about three months ago,” Landsee said at a press conference. “We finalized it last week. Dave is now a partner, and he’ll be coming to games to evaluate not only, as I said to him, our coaching stuff, but also our, as he says, quarterback talent.”

In a statement issued by the team, Krieg said, “It is a great way to keep myself involved in the game and since I am from Wisconsin, the Blizzard is great to be a part of.”
