Swarm Sold To Friend Of Owner; Team Will Remain in Minnesota

Minnesota Wild owner and Racine businessman Craig Leipold has signed a letter of intent to sell the Minnesota Swarm professional lacrosse team to close friend and lacrosse enthusiast John Arlotta.

Arlotta is former chairman, president and CEO of Coram Inc., a Denver-based provider of home-intravenous and pharmacy-distribution services. He previously served as president and CEO of Baltimore-based NeighborCare and president and chief operating officer of Nashville, Tenn.-based Caremark Pharmacy Services.

Last year, Arlotta and his wife Bobbie made the lead gift toward the construction of a $5 million lacrosse stadium, now named Arlotta Stadium, at his alma mater, the University of Notre Dame.

Leipold, who acquired the Swarm in his purchase of the Wild that closed last month, said Arlotta would be able to focus on building the Swarm's business.
