The Board Idiot

You know, a lot of people (on ESPN and the like) said before that Dungy would be silly to retire with Manning at his prime. I kinda disagree with them. He doesn't have anything else to prove...he took the Bucs to the playoffs after being a very bad team for many years, and he led the Colts to the Super Bowl a few years back...and this year, after such a bad start, they turned things around. If he wants to retire now, that's fine. He really hasn't been the one looking for glory in all this, so it seems fitting that he'd let someone else take the reigns with Manning playing at basically his best right now. |

I think it doesn't matter at this point. He has nothing more to prove, to be sure. And with Manning at the pinnacle of his career, he is leaving the organization in great shape for his successor. Which team would you rather be taking over right now - Detroit Lions with almost nothing or Indianapolis Colts with almost everything? I'd pick Colts. |

Great coach, will be missed, but I have a feeling this won't affect the Colts that much, at least for next season. |
