Wow, great start for Syracuse. Down 7-0 to Minnesota with 14:41 left in the first quarter. ![]() Syracuse has to settle for a field goal on that drive after a touchdown was invalidated by an illegal formation. Minnesota 7, Syracuse 3 Edited by WeatherManNX01, Saturday Sep 5 2009, 11:16 AM.

TOUCHDOWN! Syracuse has its first lead of the day on a very efficient and well-run drive down the field! They have now scored 17 straight points. Syracuse 20, Minnesota 14 |

I have season tickets for Syracuse home games. It was a great game, but sadly didn't go the way I would have liked. Minnesota wins 23-20 in OT. |

Damn, so close. And here I was at work telling my boss that Syracuse must have won since they were leading with only a few minutes left when I went to work. |

Yeah, there were only 2 real bad parts of the game: the first 15 seconds, and the last couple of minutes. The rest of the game was quite good. I'm actually fairly happy with the team, despite the loss. In other games yesterday, #3 Oklahoma lost their game 14-13 against #20 Brigham Young. Their star QB Bradford may be out for a few weeks with a shoulder injury suffered in the 2nd quarter. #6 Ohio State needed an interception on a 2 point attempt, which they ran back for 2 points of their own, to stop Navy's quest for an upset 31-27. #22 Iowa blocked 2 FG attempts in the final 7 seconds to avoid an upset against FBS Northern Iowa, winning by one point. #11 Louisiana State beat Washington by 8 in a game that was much closer than most expected. Those, along with the Minnesota-Syracuse game were really the only close games of the day. There will be 2 games today: #8 Mississippi at Memphis at 3:30 ET on ESPN, and Colorado State at Colorado at 8:00 ET on Fox Sports Net. I'm not particularly interested in either of them, but they are there. Tomorrow also features 2 games, both on ESPN. First up is a Big East Conference matchup: Cincinnati at Rutgers. Some believe that game could go a long ways into determining the Big East champion. That game is on 4:00 ET. Then at 8:00 ET is a game featuring two ACC rivals: Miami at #18 Florida State. Miami has a tough start to their season, as they face top 20 teams in each of their first four games, so the Hurricanes really could use a win to start the season. I'm not a fan of starting the season with conference opponents, not with so much riding on each conference game especially for BCS teams. That been said, I'll probably be watching the 2 games tomorrow as they should at least be decent games. |

Iowa got lucky, and Ohio State got lucky. Would have loved to see them get knocked off.[/PSU grad] |

Yeah, I'd say Iowa's feat involved more luck than Ohio State's, but both were quite lucky as it was. Ohio State gets Southern California next week, so I imagine you'll be seeing the Buckeyes go down then. Actually, either team losing would be a pretty good deal for me, so next week's already looking great.

At the half, Cincinnati leads Rutgers 31-7. I'm very surprised at how dominant the Bearcats have been so far. |

Cincinnati wins 47-15. I guess I know who the Big East favorite is now.
