The Ahlied were a race not unlike the humans. 3 million years before current present time, the Ahlied were a simple people, farming and doing much the same as any race. Their homeworld, Ahlein, was fair and beautiful, and it's beauty would only be understood after it was ravaged. around 2.99 million years ago, the Ahlied experienced an industrial revolution, and begun to rapidly create new technologies. But great harm came to Ahlien, and 200 years after the revolution, the planet was nearing a second ice age, through the shifting of currents bringing cold water down, and cooling the planet rapidly. Before the events could transpire, the Governemnt of the most powerful faction demanded climate controls, and if other territories would listen, they invaded and forced the controls on emissions on the companies and people. Disaster was averted, and unity brought to the Ahleid. With a new global government, the Ahlied were able to acceralte their space program. About 2.95 million years ago, the first warp engine was successfully tested. It was a landmark. within the next 950,000 years, little significant contact was made and the ship design only perfected. then, 2 million years ago, contact was made with a race called the Planotovians. Their ships were 20 times the size of the largest Ahlied battle-cruiser, and their technology a million years ahead of theirs. This race was perverse and destructive, no soul. They began plundering the Ahlied worlds, and no matter how many ships were used, and how brilliant the tactics, they decimated the Ahlied fleets. One brilliant commander, led a helpless defense of a colony world. he had only 20 ships at his disposal, and only 3 were qualified as battleships. He knew his fleet had no chance. He decided to at least destroy one ship. Only one. He loaded the smaller frigates with many marines, and used the 3 battleships as distractions. The marines entered through the hangers, and all attempted to reach the core of the ship. In the end, only one marine, The Commander Resilan himself, made it to the core. He alone destroyed the ship. A statue stands in the colony today. The technology of the Ahlied was stolen, but before the enemy reached the homeworld, an even larger being, called a Cybertronian, returned all research and new technologies that had been taken. This Cybertronian, called Mark, was not the same as the other giant race. he was kinder. No contact would be made between the Ahlied and the Cybertronians for another 1 million years. 1 million years ago, the Ahlied had reached the peak of their potential, with only 1 technology remained untouched. Time travel. They sought out this mysterious race. Within 200 years, they were found. An alliance was brought about, and the Ahlied helped to bring about many of the technologies used by both Cybertronians and Planotovians. All was good. Then, through an act of wickedness, the Ahlied race fell into perverseness, and all contact between the races stopped. It would remain so until the existence of the Saint of Ahlien would inhabit the body of a petty raider captain, and return the Ahlied to it's former glory. |

Why does there have to be a bad guy? Wars aren't bad guy, good guy from the outside perspective. It's a war, no matter what sparked it. Hope to see more on your race Link, your best so far. |

An interesting theme to be explored are the different perspectivies of each faction, as we won't have a good vs. evil war, so I'm waiting this war to be over to start posting on the next one. |

I suppose my race will be thought the main "threat" in the next IW, simply due to our manipulative and sadistic behavior, though, we won't be "evil" in our eyes, only doing what must be done to keep the race alive. |

Well, think about it. If theres a hundred races+, all with technology for FTL, would they not also have a large population? On planet Earth, there are probably 30 million + soldiers. If all of those races had more then one planet, then they could also have more then 30 million+ soldiers for every planet. So, if each race had 2 planets, with 30 million each, there would be 600 million soldiers in the alliance. And, if we went more then 2 planets.. Why is that thinking negatively? |

Perhaps not negatively. Logically cold describes it, but it doesn't make it wrong. Like he said we'll find out more about his race in the next IW. So lets hold comments for another time, k?:P |
