Epic Failure
Atako
The second of the kitten-like creatures, this one has no wings or ribbons unlike the angelic. Instead the Atako has the ability to coat itself and other creatures it is touching in a barely visible form of energy, that wards off shadows. Its ears are large and catlike, the tail is large and fluffy, but the body of the atako itself is rather small compared to a normal cat. They have no claws.

Giga Koi
Giga Koi are large, meaty fish, similar to the smaller koi of popular ponds and rivers. Instead of the traditional orange and white color, they are a more shocking red and black, or even blue and yellow – different colors form to fit the attitude of the fish, to show their temperament. They range from a more typical five feet in length to a whopping twenty feet in length, depending on their age and similarly so on their disposition. The meeker, shyer Giga Koi grow to five feet or less, and may be white and blue. Pure black gigas tend to be the wilder, dominant of the species, growing to be the largest. Perfect companions for sailors, they follow in the trail of ships, expanding giant mucus bubbles to fend off enemies.

Laigh
One of the many shield creatures that doesn’t seem to relate to any normal animal, laighs tend to have circular bodies of usually brown of green hue, or a combination of the two. They have only one eye in the center of their body towards the top of it. Their ‘nose’ appears as just two holes below their eyes, small, and almost invisible, though they’re still there. For mouths, they have no lips, but instead only a slit in their skin, which appears as a thin line. Atop their heads, laighs often have a giant water lily, which can often be used to make medicine. This is because when water fills it, the flower releases a special chemical that causes it to become sappy with a fruity tasty and medical properties. Finally, for arms they have two nubs, same as their feet, though from their ‘arms’ vines often sprout to help the creature better grasp objects, and other such things.

Manto
Though they start off really smallish, the Mantos turn out to be large, VERY large moon shaped manta rays at their peak. They develop a second pair of fins as they grow, as well as two tails. Also, they have crystallised water pockets on their head, the upper fins, and floating on the end of their tails like orbs; the crystals can have varied shapes. Mantos are strong, to the point they can carry a person or two depending on their own size, and move themselves by floating in the air, sorta like flying. They are rather vulnerable as hatchlings and toddlers though, and need to have a water source near them so they don't suffocate and die, which can be a simple waterbowl since they are smallish then. That's what the pockets are used for, to store water so they can breathe. They are fish, you know?

Peam
Among the few birdlike creatures of Syumo, peams possess the overall forms of young, small birds, few with additions. One such addition would be the lone horn that sticks out of its head, dead center. Its made of some material stronger than most, and only in very rare occasions has it ever been known to break. The rather long, bright, yet beautiful feather that makes up its tail is also a special feature only seen on the birdlike creature. Often used to attract a mate, the feather can also be used to omit a sweet, delicious scent, which while having no meaning in combat, is still rather nice. Finally, rather than two eyes, as most birds have, these creatures possess three. The third eye that most birds do not have is located closer to the horn, and is placed between the first two, right above them. They aren’t very powerful creatures, but they can defend their owners all the same.

Plateback
A large armadillo like creature, the plateback is a protector as well as a trusted mount. Its small head is covered in large gray tiles, as well as the rest of it’s arched frame, yellow replacements showing up when one tile is lost. This is a warning to all who approach it – ‘stay away, I’m not worth attacking’. Starting off as a defenseless, unprotected animal at birth, it is very rare to catch or find one; they make tasty meals for all types of predators, large and small. They inhabit the Souko Mountains more than any other area, and are said to burrow underground for most of their lives if not caught. When attacked they roll into a snug ball, creating a pocket underneath their belly for their keeper or whoever might need defense.

Teshi
Being one of the rarer creature breeds, like their sister breed Shashi, Teshi are among the few breeds that actually can change their shape, though they only have two forms- one of a young human child, and the other of their ‘true’ self. When their morphing between the two forms takes place they are covered in a silver glow, which quickly dies after the transformation is complete.
While in their true form, Teshi possess the bodies and heads of young wolf pups, their size never being too large or anywhere near, much like Shashi. Their ears, however, take on the form equal to that of a feline as they are triangular-shaped, and stick upward. On either ear a sun rests, the coloring always differing, though the shape and location never changing. From these marks it is often known the creatures release a repulsing scent that repels any and all beings they wish to shield themselves from, just as long as they think of the race/breed they wish to repel. Their tails are lacking completely, and their paws seem to be covered in small, miniature pads that can latch onto the ground to help them stay in their place. These pads are of a silver or golden hue, and are pretty much like super glue in the way it takes a lot to get them to let up.
When in their human form, Teshi appear to be young children no older than five with their hair taking on the general color of their fur, which is often a light hue, and often being unbelievably short so it almost never reaches the shoulders, but remains a few inches above in a messy, boyish style. Their skin tones are often slightly tanned, and seemingly darker than that of their sister breed with their eyes being very light. They only carry a sun on either of their palms to show that they are in fact a creature, rather than an actual human. Through said mark, they can also release the same nauseating scent while in their human forms to ward off unwanted beings.

Weeping Egret
The grace and style of the Weeping Egret is matched by none, wiry yellow strings bursting from it’s regal head in an elegant crest, long, metallic legs giving it a good standing point in the waters where it fishes. Wisdom resonates from its pupil-less eyes, giving it an aura of knowledge – it is indeed a clever bird, giving warnings and tricking prey more often then not. It’s also known as the Golden Egret for the pure gold eggs it produces, often hunted down and smelted for use, making nests hard to find but not completely unheard of. These creatures mate for life and have an amazingly strong family bond – when an egg is stolen or taken from the nest, this mighty bird often calls out in protest and grief. It’s tears, like the legendary phoenix, heal those who it weeps for, but to benefit from this one must first tame and befriend it, which is not a simple task.

Yakuri
Appearing to be nothing more than a round, small ball of fuzz at first glance, yakuri are often overlooked by many people that come across them. It is only upon closer inspection that three small eyes can be found, two being side-by-side with the third one above them in dead center of the creature. Normally, each eye is a different color, and only rarely are any two eyes found to be same the hue, let alone all three. These creatures also have no arms nor legs, not even little nubs, but instead use their powers to generate small bursts of wind that end up aiding them in their movements, be them up, down, left, or right, these winds make it possible for any yakuri to get around easily just as long as they know what they’re doing. One last feature of these creatures would be their ability to generate various scents that are released from their bodies. The scents only affect non-creatures, and there are four scents: one that causes the smeller to go into a deep sleep, one that causes the smeller to become paralyzed, one that causes the smeller to become poisoned, and one that causes the smeller to hallucinate. It takes years for all four scents to be mastered, if they happen to be mastered at all. Also, how long each scent is in effect for varies greatly depending on the creature’s skill. The longest time recorded for a scent lasting is roughly one week.

{*Notes: The following is a key of what each color means as far as how common/rare a creature is:
Rare {1/10 Chance of Getting}
Uncommon {4/10 Chance of Getting}
Common {5/10 Chance of Getting}
