Within Syumo creatures are separated into two classes: shield and weapon. These classes are naturally different in ways that go beyond the fact both classes have different titles. For those unknown to these differences, this topic has been made to help you understand what you’re missing out on. For starters, you’ll notice below the definition of both, followed by each actual class, and their properties. Hopefully, this will make the subject of creature classes all a bit more clear ^_^

Weapon: A term used to define creatures of a certain class, whose main battle strategy involves directly attacking their opponent.
Shield: A term used to define creatures of a certain class, whose main battle strategy involves in blocking attacks, rather than direct fighting back.

Weapon
They usually attack their opponent directly, and rarely allow their opponent to recover before attacking once more. These creatures tend to be commonly chosen over those of the shield class. The key points of this class are as follow:

*Heals slower than shield creatures. (Just how slow varies with each creature.)
*Produces more damage than shield creatures. (Attacks tend to do 10% - 50% more damage than those of shield’s.)
*Unable to hold strong in battles lasting over an hour. (Tires self out rather quickly. Most tend to last no longer than an hour in fights, though stronger creatures have been known to be in battles up to three hours long. [Any longer truly very rare.])
*Energy affects attacks greatly. (Hungry or tired weapon creatures have weaker attacks, and rarely succeed in battle.)
*Reluctant to flee in battle.
*Quicker to attack with less delay in between.
*When in the wild, they tend to mix themselves with shield creatures for a sense of balance.
*When mating, weapon creatures tend to be more attracted to shield creatures, rather than those of their class.

Shield
They usually avoid attacking their opponent directly, and prefer to avoid fighting altogether. These creatures tend to be a person‘s last choice as weapon creatures are preferred. The key points of this class are as follow:

*Heals faster than weapon creatures. (Just how fast varies with each creature.)
*Produces less damage than weapon creatures. (Attacks tend to do 10% - 50% less damage than those of weapon’s.)
*Able to hold strong in battles lasting over an hour. (Converses energy, unlike weapon creatures. Most tend to last longer than an hour in fights, though stronger creatures have been known to be in battles up to three hours long. [Any longer is uncommon.])
*Energy affects attacks slightly. (Hungry or tired shield creatures have slightly weaker attacks/defenses, though they still succeed in battle.)
*Quick to flee in battle.
*Delays in between attacks. (Delay varies. Usually just a few seconds.)
*When in the wild, they tend to mix themselves with weapon creatures for a sense of balance.
*When mating, shield creatures tend to be more attracted to weapon creatures, rather than those of their class.

While the properties may seem few, or unimportant, they still exist, and happen to play a major role in life. If you have any questions as a result of this information, please direct them to the question forum, PM me, or contact me at Robin_D00m@yahoo.com with creature classes as the subject. ^_^
