Throughout life we grow, and change, though not only in age and in appearance, but in other ways too. Creatures are no different in Syumo, as they grow throughout their lives by going through different stages. These ‘stages’, as most call them, are rather easy to tell apart, and to understand, even if one isn’t exactly a genius when it comes to creatures. Below is a list of what stages do exist, in the order they occur, and what each is like. This should help you get a better idea of how creatures develop, and what their life cycle is like. Hatchling: The first stage of a creature’s life, as it is the first stage in which they have a form outside the egg. Creatures at the stage can barely see, though they can make whimper noises, growling sounds, and they can hear. Walking is also impossible, though creatures at this stage often find themselves crawling about, or squirming in a manner close to crawling. Attacks are also another ability creatures have yet to gain, as creatures of this stage cannot summon any type of attack, no matter how small. Hatchlings tend to need more food than normal, and much more sleep, as well as attention. This stage lasts usually about one month. Toddler: A slight improvement from the hatchling stage. Creatures now have the ability to see, and speak in a manner of baby talk, with only few words forming. Crawling is now possible, with some signs of walking. They can also summon few low level attacks, though only for short periods of time, and the damage done is almost harmless. However, toddlers do tend to attack their family members/owners, if they feel threatened. No longer are large amounts of food needed, though sleep and attention is still needed. The stage usually lasts three months. Child: Now able to fully speak, and walk, creatures of this stage can do a bit more for themselves. Attacks are now manageable, though damage still isn’t the best it could be. Curiosity is common within this stage, making it hard to keep them out of trouble. This stage actually lasts two years. Teenager: The main difference with this stage is that creatures now have a desire to mate within them, meaning they often look for a partner around this stage. Whether or not creatures breed at this stage is another thing, as they have the ability to, but some tend to wait. Attacks are finally up to the usual standards, meaning creatures can now put up some decent fights. After nine years, this stage ends, or normally does. Cases of creatures being teenagers for up to ten years have been noted, though officials don’t know why. Adult: The last stage in which a creature can mate, and among the two longest stages. Creatures increase in power, enabling them to hold out in longer fights, and many now start to form families of their own, if such has not already been attempted. This stage can be anywhere from ten years to thirty. It really depends on the creature. Elder: Creatures of this stage are the strongest they’ll ever be, despite their fading youth. No longer is mating an option, though their increase powers usually make up for this. This stage lasts usually anywhere from ten to thirty years, as does the adult stage. After thirty years, creatures tend to die of old age. Those are all the known creature stages As you may notice, the age range for a creature can be anywhere from 32 years to 76 years. It may seem like a large gap, but each creature grow differently for some stages, so it truly is hard to say for sure. Extra Information *Creatures may become anthros once they turn reach the toddler stage. Hatchlings are unable to become anthros, no matter how hard they try. *To become an anthro, creatures must bathe in one of three lakes. (One lake per region.) *Anthro creatures usually keep one or two features from their creature life. *Creatures grow in size as they mature, and their fur gains a dulled color when they become elders, though their body never directly modifies, unless stated otherwise. *When a creature shifts its stage, it becomes surrounded in a soft, barely noticable light for a brief second. This light varies with each creature, hue wise. If you have any further questions, or concerns, simply post in the questions form, or contact me by PM or e-mail. |
