Manifestations always make people feel lousy, but Mers, it just angered him, much like most other things in existence. Falling through the air before he landed on a whitened floor, his body crouching down to absorb the shock, he made a grunt as he did so. Rising he looked about, nothing but white, endless white. An infinite amount of space with nothing, nothing but light, it was disturbing that such a place existed, but he was there and he had nothing to do.

“How I loathe being me…” Mers muttered, taking a thought at his situation, he could recall what he had been doing before this happened, he was just there. Reaching to his side he sighed heavily, his sidearm, his trusted pistol, gone. At least he still had his armor, protection from nothing. After a moment of muffled swearing and hatred Mers looked at the ‘floor’, he did not cast a shadow, nor did there appear to be any sign of the floor, how was he standing?

“Now I have to figure out where I am…” He mumbled, thinking on his basics, it was always good to know your surroundings. Trying to find a way to mark the spot beneath him, he struck the ‘floor’ with his forearm’s plate, no mark, no reference point. He could not leave now unless he left something behind, he simply stood in the middle of nothing, thinking.

Random changes of environment, how great they were. Hikari hit the ground with a loud thud. Where was she? And why was it so…clean? It was like a tidal wave of Mr. Muscle had just hit the place, and erased all the walls and doors, and the rest of existence for that matter. Well this was perfect, first death, then amnesia then a spotlessly clean never ending space that she had the misfortune to enter. And to make it worse, she wasn’t the only one there.

She cursed as she rose to her feet, brushing her white light pink lotus flower patterned yukata off. Well at least she was still dressed, and not wearing a white suit that would blend in with the surroundings, the eerily spacious surroundings. She looked over to the stranger who had just hit the ‘floor’. What an odd thing to do she thought, her white eyes staring at him, one eyebrow raised.

Slowly she walked towards him, one hand reaching down to one of her black boots for the emergency dagger, just in case he was dangerous. The dagger was gone. Great, she was unarmed, probably powerless, had no idea where she was, and sober. Could the day get any worse?

“Perhaps if I coul-,“ He was talking to himself before he sensed another, Mers turned on his heel taking up a defensive stance to face her. One hand fisted the other straightened, he looked at her through the two, his eyes looked on her analyzing her before he spoke, “That’s close enough humanoid…” He said in a monotone, “I don’t want any tricks…” He parted his lips to speak, and then stopped, rethinking.

“Who are you and why have you brought me here?” Mers asked quickly, assuming she was the one that ha done this. His eyes narrowed as he took in his surroundings more vividly, it truly was boundless, even worse than he thought. As unlucky as he was he was very calm, at least he wasn’t injured, yet.

Almost as quickly as he had adopted his defense pose Hikari adopted hers, well much more just a fighting stance then a defense pose, but threatening non the less, well as threatening as you ca be at 5ft 1.

Why had she brought him here? Well that was rich, as if she could do such a thing when she didn’t even know where she was from, let alone where she was now. She stayed in her pose, ready to fight if she had to.
“I am not the one who brought you here, actually I thought you brought me here” she said, her voice threatening, hiding her fear from not knowing where she was, or why she was here.
“My name is Hikari” her voice still had a threatening tone, though slightly muffled by the material that covered her mouth.

“Commander Mers of the TRCC and you have errored in your guess, as have I…” Mers said flatly, clenching his open hand into a fist as well, his muscles bulging. He stayed were he was, did not want to look preemptive, the last thing he needed was another problem. He inhaled through his nostrils, slowly exhaling through his mouth, waiting on any action by her.

“What I should have asked was this, are you going to turn out to be a friend or a foe?” Mers stated, a smirk starting to grow, he did not have time to get to know people, and he wanted facts, hard data. He relaxed his fists, re focusing on her, she was not too mincing, but it was not always about looks, he knew this all too well.

She relaxed, standing up straight and letting her arms fall to her sides. Hikari sighed, if he wasn’t the one who brought her to wherever she was then who did? And why did they decide to put her in this place with some stranger? This was too much; someone had to be taunting her. Or Hikari was just having a bad life, and afterlife.
“I have no plans to try and kill you” she answered, her arms now folded, her gaze still focused on him. Well there wasn’t much else to focus on was there? They were in a big empty space.

“Is it just me who thinks this place is eerily clean?” she asked, now looking round.

“Nothing is clean, and it would appear that we are standing on something, so it is undoubtedly dirty, in the sense that I see it…” Mers said, bringing his hands back to their straightened form, then to his sides. He quirked his hairless brow, looking around in a full circle, then stopped to face her once more.

“I assume you think of pure white as clean? Then I must be some sort of puritan…” Mer chuckled slightly.

She rolled her eyes, though you wouldn’t have been able to tell. She didn’t think that pure white was clean, but the only memories she had of anywhere were those of hell, which was a pretty dirty place. Never mind the fire and brimstone and everything (well, actually there wasn’t as much of that as you’d have thought) it was just a generally dusty place. This place was a hospital compared to there.
“Well, it’s cleaner then hell” she commented.

“Maybe we should walk around or something, try and work out where we are, or if we’re in some kind of illusion” Hikari doubted it was some kind of illusion. They had probably been chosen at random and brought here by some strange being.

“That seems logical…” Mers replied, placing his hand over his head and rubbing his face for a moment. He then paced up near her turning to stand at her side at look in the same direction as her. He put his hands behind his back and looked onward intently.

“Any particular direction in mind?” Mers asked, he frankly did not care, it was all empty anyhow, so it really didn’t matter. After all, he was Mers, he didn’t care much about anything.

‘Is there any direction that looks different to the other?” she asked, looking up at him. This was hopeless. They were just in one big room, no differences anywhere, nowhere else to go, nothing else to see, it was all just nothingness with two confused people stood in the centre. Well at least she knew where she would probably be spending the rest of her afterlife. Or maybe that’s where they were, the afterlife, though that was another thing she doubted. Hikari had already been through hell anyway, she had chosen to ‘live’ as a spawn.

“Maybe if we think about what we were doing before we were brought here we could work out why we are here” she suggested.

“I’m not really sure of what I was doing before, I just can’t quite coalesce it, odd really…” Mers said, tilting his head as he thought about it. What was he doing? Was he even doing something? Why couldn’t he remember? These questions echoed in his mind, plaguing his thoughts are he tried to reason.

“We might as well go straight,” Mers said, pointing ahead, “I mea, at least we do not have to turn or anything…” Mers crackled a smile, he didn’t want to exert any extra energy, he had no food.

Hikari thought, she didn’t actually know what she was doing before she was here. It was like she hadn’t existed anywhere else outside this place. It was all too confusing, suddenly just existing on another plain of reality, well, it probably wasn’t reality. For one they cast no shadow, the room (well, she assumed it was a room) was bright when there was no light source.

“Straight sounds good” she said, giggling quietly at his comment. It probably wouldn’t matter which direction they went though, they’d probably still see the same sites wherever they were.

Mers took a step forward followed by another, and soon he was walking, into nothingness, futility in motion as Mers would say. He passed the spot where he had first landed, or at least thought he had, there was no way to tell, that made it all the worse. Not knowing where to go.

“How long ‘till you think we see anything besides ourselves?” Mers inquired, not expecting an actual answer, more like a ‘never’ response.

Hikari followed Mers as he walked into the rest of the nothingness. This wasn’t gonna get them anywhere, well it probably wasn’t. Though it was a start. At least they had some idea of what to do to try and get out of this place. Even if they were walking into an abyss of nothingness.

“Dunno, could take any amount of time, from minutes to years”. God, she hoped it wouldn’t take years. That would be one hell of a death wasted. She wouldn’t age, and she had all eternity to herself so really it wouldn’t make a difference, she just didn’t want to spend it in some place with this guy.

"You mentioned hell," Mers said looking over his shoulder back at her, "What are you an undead?" Mers asked, he hadn't exactly been fond of the dead ones, ever since his dealings with Vampires and Lycans. He hoped she wasn't, it would make a boring trip worse, and thats not what he wanted, then again he didn't want a lot of things.

Looking forward he narrowed his eyes, he thought he saw something, far off.
