"Do you know the movements aswell?" Mers asked, popping his knuckles quicly, a pre-game habbit of his. He looked over the board, his sense of tactics rising from his mind into an seperate state of being. |

“No, I just know the names” she said simply. She folded her arms; maybe chess wasn’t the best idea. This was going to end up in one of them getting very annoyed, probably Hikari. She picked p her wine, which was now very cold, and took a sip, cold wine was nice, but only slightly better. The snow was getting heavier, speeding up a little as it fell. |

"Each Pawn can move 1 space per turn, or 2 from it's starting position, it can not take peices infront of it, only diagonaly, when a pawn reaches the other side you can switch it for another game peice, except the king of course, now the Rook ca-" Mers looked up at her, seeing her emotions through the mask, "You don't want to play this, do you?" |

“Not really” Hikari replied, studying the pawn. They could always try another board game which Hikari wouldn’t know, well, she probably would know what it was just not how to play or anything, but it was worth a try. “We could try a different game” she suggested. |

Mers sighed, sweeping his hand across the board, casting all the peices and the collected snow out into the white mountain, then he picked up the board and hurled it away, making it spin off until it was out of sight. He watched it all the way tp the bottom, a plain look on his face, when a small thump could be heard he turned back to Hikari, nodding. "What would you prefer?" He asked, smiling. |

“Maybe you should decide” Hikari said, trying to hide the fact that she hardly knew what a board game was, let alone what board game she would want to play. When she was alive she didn’t play many board games, she never really had the time for them. She had been good at monopoly. Being the only one patient enough one in her family was an upside when it came to things like that. |

"None really seem too appealing right now," Mers grumbled, "We could have Stratego, Risk, Monopoly, So-" He stopped, the cardboard game boxs were becoming crunched inside the tiny box, plastic bits and peices falling from the sides. Rubbing his temples and sighing he sat down on the rock she had been sitting on, looking at her. "Don't let my apathy change your mind, I'm just a tired old man is all," He admitted. |

“You don’t look very old” she said. Hikari herself was stuck inside the 18 year old body she died in, she would never age. Some would see it as a good thing but Hikari just thought it a nuisance. Anyone who would want to stay young forever would regret their vanity, they would stay young forever, their children (if they ever had any) would grow to be older then them, and die before them. Unless, of course, said person was dead. “Monopoly sounds good, whatever that is” |

"Thats true, and there is a very odd and comples reason for that if you want to hear it," Mers said, nodding. He reached it and carefully pulled out 'Mononpoly' from the box, easing it back and forth until it slid out. Setting it on the rock that he was on, "Or we could just play Monopoly." |

Hikari thought for a minute. “Well, since I don’t have any idea of what monopoly is, how about you explain it too me?” she suggested. Board games weren’t exactly the best idea for someone who knows nothing about them. Especially the quite complicated ones, like monopoly for example. |

"It's a basic game of industry, you buy, you build, you charge money," Mers saud, "There are alot of useless rules which are printed here, take a look," He said flatly, handing her the cardboard sheet that was covered in text, "The Parker Brothers loved rules..." |

It sounded simple enough, Hikari thought as she flicked through the rule book. They really did love rules, whoever wrote it had written a load of crap about dice and everything. Oh well, Hikari could pick it up as she went along. “Ok then, let’s play” she said as she put the book onto the snow, probably ruining the back of it. |

"I'll be this peice here," Mers said, taking the horse peice out and setting it at go, then he began to divy out the money, carefully setting each in the right order, "Pick a peice and set up the chance cards and such, alright?" Mers instructed, dispite the questioned end. |

She picked up the dog piece and studied it carefully. It would do. She placed it on go before setting up the chance cards and chest cards, having to swap them around a few times before finally putting them in the right place. “so who goes first then?” |

"I think it's just a matter of a dice ro-" Mers stopped, rising from his postion, "Did you hear that?" He asked, cupping a hand around his ear he looked around, eyes widened. "There it again, it sounds like thumping..." Mers said loudly, "Sorry to interoupt the game, but nohestly, do you hear that noise?" |
