“I’m a hell spawn, so I guess I am undead. I never really thought of it like that though, why, is that a problem?” She never really had thought of whether she was dead, undead or living. She was probably undead, after all she didn’t need to breathe, her organs didn’t really work and she didn’t have a heartbeat. But she always just saw herself as a spawn, a creature that had been created from the spirit of one person but also from the evil of hell.

“see anything yet?”

"No, not a problem..." He lied, once again not wanting to come off bad, oddly enough he felt like he already had. Still looking at the object he shook his head, there was nothing there, sctratching his head he tried to think of what he had saw, it looked like a gray blurr, a dot on the ege of something. But what was it, he did not know, nor would he ever.

"nothing yet, thought I saw something, but it's gone now..." Mers grumbled, trying to wlk in the direstion he last saw it.

“Well that’s great, there’s probably flesh eating creatures roaming the area and I’m unarmed” she muttered angrily. Oh well, if she died she’d just be sent back to hell, given another body, and be sent to wherever she was supposed to go next. Mers however, well, he could go anywhere. He said her being dead wasn’t a problem, but she knew he was lying. It was a problem with most people, especially those who only want to know what happens after death, and the others who threw holy water on her. That was an annoying day.
“Are you sure it’s no problem?”

"Yes I'm sure..." Mers said, firmly, nodding, then thought more deeply about what she said, silence filling the gap of time. After a moment he pulled off the plate on his right forearm handing it to her, and took his left plate for himself. After doing so he hel the larger end, slicing it through the air as he paced.

"It's not very sharp, but it will work for now..." mers muttered, he too was angry about being unarmed, but he could hold his own unarmed.

“Thank you” she said as she took the plate from him, rather surprised that he had offered it to her. She still didn’t believe that he had no problem with her being dead, but there was nothing she could do about it, it’s not like she could resurrect herself.
“Do you think maybe...” she stopped herself, thinking about what she was about to suggest. “Do you think that maybe we’re being hunted by something?” she asked. That could be why they’d been brought here, to be hunted by another creature, to merely be helpless prey. It would explain why they were unarmed.

"I would doubt it, but it is possible..." Mers said, thinking about it, "but who would want to hunt us?" Mers asked, shrugging. He stumbled over sometihng, nearly falling but stopping himself, looking around quickly he looked hastily, looking for the source, crouching down he placed his hands on a box, a white one. Lifting it up he held it infront of himself, the white of the boxe blending in the the pasty background.

"A box?" mers asked ferevently.

Who would want to hunt them? Hikari had no enemies, that she could remember anyway. Maybe the idea was silly, there’s no-one who would hunt humans for sport anyway. She snapped out of her thoughts as Mers nearly tripped, stopping to see what he had tripped over. A box? What was a box doing there? In the middle of an empty space. Oh well, it might be some clue as to where they were.
“Can you open it?” she asked, trying to examine it, though losing it every few seconds as it blended in to the background.

Mers nodded, setting it down and trying to open it, with no avail, growing angry quickly he placed his 'knife' on the top, then smashed his elbow down onto tearing a hole in the outside, ripping it open quickly he dumped it out, there were her daggers and his pistol. Taking up his pistol quickly he picked up her daggers, handing them to her hanles out.

"That worked out well..." Mers said, grining.

She smiled under her mask as she took the daggers. She slid them into the tops of her boots. At least they had their weapons back. Now if they got attacked they could defend themselves from whatever it was.
“Anything else in there? Anything saying where we are?” she asked, a tone of hope in her voice. Why would the box just have their weapons in anyway? If this place was going to let them have weapons then why not just let them keep them instead of taking them away. This world made no sense.

"Hold on," Mers said, looking inside of it, there was nothing there but writing, wait writing, after a moment he handed it to her saying, "Look at this..." He sounded glad, he was happy to know they were making progress. The inscribtion read:

'Ask for something'

"Think one of us should do it?" He asked, wondering if it was a trick.

“Might as well give it a try” Hikari shrugged. But what to ask for? A better background? More weapons? Life? And then she had the perfect thing to as for.
‘I know what to as for” she smiled under her mask. A drink, that was all she wanted right now, something full of alcohol, that would make her feel more comfortable in this place. That was the perfect thing to ask for. But, what if this was a trick? She could end up drinking poison. Maybe he should try it first.
“Why don’t you go first?”

"Alright..." Mers said gruffly, thinking about what to ask for. After a moment he snapped his fingers and smiled, "I've got it. May I have a single cram ration?" Mers asked. Nothing, no boom, or twinkle, just silence. Mers narrowed his eyes, "Is this a joke?"

He did not see that there was indeed a cram ration inside the box, it had just appeared out of nowhere, and now he was not aware of it.

(I have to sleep, we shall continue soon! :D)

“Well, maybe you asked for the wrong thing” hikari suggested, hoping she was right. If she didn’t get a drink soon she was going to go mad and try to kill as much as she could. The thought of looking in the box never crossed Hikari’s mind. She thought the box had just been there to provide the weapons and some instructions.
“I’ll try. Can I have a bottle of red wine and two glasses?” she asked, looking hopeful. Still nothing.
“this was a waste of time” she said, still not looking over at the (now crowded) box.

((yes we shall! when you wake up and i return from school!))

"Well, the box has fooled the both of us, isn't it amazing how well that works..." Mer grumbled, closing his eyes as he contained his anger. Shaking his head he reopened them, only to find that he was still in this place, plain and boring. Sighing heavily Mers took a moment to consider his status.

"I might as well ask for, some ice, a stick, a rock! May I have a large rock?" Mers laughed. Just then the tip of the rock apppeared over the lip of the box, Mers crouched down near it, "Did it work..."

Hikari sighed again. Stupid box, raising her hopes that maybe she just might get a drink. And not only that, but she was still stuck here with no idea why. She kicked the ground, which would kick up dust if she were still in the ‘normal’ world, which she was starting to miss.

And then she saw it, the rock sticking out over the edge of the box. So the box didn’t lie, it did work. Why had neither of them thought to look in the box? Had they really thought it would just appear in front of them? Well at least now she could get her sweet, sweet alcohol. She nudged what remained of the lid of the box open with her foot, smiling as she saw what was inside. Everything they had asked for, especially the wine.
