{Such a Softer Sin}

Her arms stretched outward and her spine grew longer as the red-head elaborately yawned. She felt totally refreshed, as if she had been sleeping on a cloud for months. The teenager finally allowed her brilliantly orange eyes to open. As she blinked away the tiredness in her eyes, she became aware that her hair was not obeying the usual laws of gravity; it stuck straight up. As her vision cleared it was instantly obvious why. She was hurtling towards an unfamiliar field at a startling rate, aiming to slam into an ancient-looking tree. She silently mused for a few seconds at what bones would snap first when she hit the ground and/or flora, but allowed her large wings to open; its orange-red feathers had been frantically dancing in the wind. Her wings expertly caught the wind as she began a slow, spiralling descent. She chose a landing spot: a small clearing surrounded by a ring of fruit-bearing trees. As her high-heeled feet landed smoothly on the moss, she tucked her wings back behind her and flicked a red strand of hair out of her face. She plucked a strawberry off the nearest tree and smiled at the notion. As she popped it into her mouth, the winged humanoid easily shifted into a light-orange horse with a flaming red mane and tail. "Rea?" She called cautiously. "Emerald? Jutta? ... The rest of you?" |

Watching as the strange form began her descent, spreading her fiery plumes, she slowly descended to the terra, acting as calm as could be. Her figure transforming, she became an equine of flaming pelt, calling desperately out for unseen companions. "This could be fun." he thought, obsidian wings folded behind his pale, bare torso, ragged jeans clinging to his legs. Clenching his left hand, he opened it, the shadowy tendrils spreading, and climbing up his arm. Soon, he was convered in complete shadow, his form changing as well. Where he had been, another equine now stood; a stallion of midnight black. Stepping slowly into the grove, he lowered his maw, chewing on the sweet grass that grew here, acting as if he hadn't noticed the mare. Raising his mantle, his gaze fell upon the fiery pelt, his pillars carrying him towards her as his dark forelock fell across his face, fragmenting his vision. "Quite a lonely place isn't it, my dear." he began, easily a head or two taller then the mare. "What is one like you doing here all alone?" |

Ariella surveyed the stallion cautiously. "Lonely? Why, I suppose..." She replied, glancing around her. "But with such vast worlds and so few living, it's to be expected, is it not?" She shook her mane out and stared up at the skies. "I don't know why I'm here, honestly. This isn't unusual for me, though, I seem to be a dimension-traveller." Her laugh was mostly humanoid, with only a hint of a bray. "Do you know these parts? I don't mean to offend, but I am a little suspicious. I'm not usually approached so quickly unless the other means harm." Ariella's attempts at looking intimidating didn't quite succeed, as she had to crane her long neck to look the stallion in the eye. "May I ask who you are, and where we are?" |

Matt was in a tree full of strawberries, sleeping. Someone picked one off, and woke him up. As he sat up, he thought, "I felt like a fell asleep in a tree. Whoa, I did." He looked down to see who woke him up. He saw a couple things. One: his wooden sword he made before he fell asleep. The second: two horses. |

"No, it's not offending at all. I only wish the rest of the inhabitants had that attitude. Perhaps so many of them wouldn't be dead." he commented, lowering his head a bit so she didn't have to stretch as much. "As far as I know, we're in the Amon feilds, one of many such places within the borders of Kurin. A ways off is the human's city of Henraku. Quite a nice place if you ask me, though I don't visit there much; it's a bit awkward, if you know what I mean." he began, noticing a flicker of movement off in one of the trees. A human; barely dangerous. "Kurin is one of many continents in Syumo, that's the name the humans have given to encompass everything. All the landmasses at least." he continued, a smile's shadow playing upon his maw. "Is that what you wanted to know?" he inquired after finishing, knowing that there were more questions bottled up inside the avian, though he doubted she would ask them all now. Then again, she did reek of light; you could never underestimate one who wasn't a shadow. |

"Cool," He thought, "Horses!!" He looked at them both, one looking evil, and one looking good. He had the element of water, but he doesn't usually use it. His sword sat on the ground. |

"Why, yes, that is quite helpful." Ariella chanced a grin; he was quite charming, but that put her even more on the defensive. "But I have to ask," She added predictably. "Why do so many inhabitants end up dead?" She had a list of other inquiries ready to let fly, those that she always asked at the arrival at a new dimension, but this definitely seemed the most pressing. Her head jerked to one side and the pegan crouched down instinctively. "Who else is here?" She asked, loudly enough that the unseen creature could hear, but not so loud as to attract unwanted attention. Her eyes narrowed and her wings were tensed, prepared for flight. Her orange eyes suddenly took in the wooden sword on the ground. Hardly threatening, but she still snatched it up in her mouth and tossed it away from the noise. Like a common canine, she thought. Having to resort to playing fetch. |

"My sword!" He thought, as he watched it fly. "I'm coming!!" He said, jumping out of the tree. As he ran by the horses, he remembered, "I hate horses." |

Stepping in front of the young man, he snorted, lowering his mantle to stare the human in the eyes. "I wouldn't try that." he snorted, speaking to the young boy in his own tongue. Stepping back, he placed his hindhoof in the brittle wood, snapping the weapon in two. "Run." he growled, blocking the path between the boy and the mare. "Now." [Gah. That sucks.] |

He started walk backwards. "No, I won't!" He made a water sword with his hands. (Waits.) |

Ariella was taken back by the stallion's reaction. "He doesn't seem like much harm, really..." She said softly, taking a few steps backwards. "Is that quite neccessary?" The female raised an eyebrow, or at least attempted to, at the boy's response. Idiot. "That's not very wise, kid!" She warned him. Sure, she had only been talking to the midnight horse for a few minutes, but anyone could tell this wouldn't be a fair right. "Leave him alone..." She said softly, not sure who she was addressing (mostly herself). [OOC: Gah, mine too. xD I'll wait, Protothor. :)] |

"Please, child. Don't make me do this." he pleaded, feeling the darkness beginning to well up inside of him. Taking a step back, he closed his eyes, his true form, and avian, showing forth once again. Large, black feathered wings stretched from his back, his bare torso laden with smokey-grey skin. His eyes of lifeless charcoal gazed from beneath his brow, black locks falling to his shoulders. Ragged grey pants clung to his legs, his feet unshodden. "Please-" he begged, the shadowy tendrils emanating from his left palm, the emblem inscirbed there the pathway for them to enter this world. "just run." he growled, the pure darkness consuming him, even if it wasn't his will. He had learned that this life, this darkness within him, could do nothing but bring death. He could escape it for a time when he became something else, a horse, or an eagle. But in his true form, there was nothing he could do to battle it. Taking a step forward, his wings vibrated minutely, much like those of a Shano when it felt threatened, though unlike the winged-snake, he was the imposing one in this situation. His eyes bleeded to solid black, his gaze was indistinguishable from the darkness in his hands. |

Ariella whinnied in annoyance. Why couldn't humans sense these things like she could? She kicked off from the ground and flew precisely between the two bipeds. Using her bulk to seperate the two, she searched the previously four-legged ones eyes. Reflected there was an evil she'd seen too many times before. SHe shuddered as if to startle a fly, but held her ground. She tried to shake her head as memories flooded into her mind. But he was so like Char, so similar. The quad steeled herself for a blow, possibly fatal. She could fight back, but not yet. And besides, her powers shifted in different worlds, who knew if they were anywhere near effective here. |

"I'm no human."stated Daemien, smirking evily in response to her question. "Char. He was quite a character, wasn't he?" he inquired nonchalantly. "You can quit the act now, Ariella. You're not fooling me. Why don't you show me who you really are?" |
