Drowning in De Nile

Vincent found the tilting of this blonde's head very cute. "Well I'm thinking of interior design." Vincent was already imagining what he'd make his house to look like. Or at least his apartment. Hopefully he could get a job quickly... ...Damn, I really should have thought this through.... Vincent thought idly to himself. Then again, how was I supposed to know that everyone would ditch me? Vincent took his hand warmer and stuck it in his shoe. |

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. Only I will remain." ~Litany of Fear from Dune Friedrich Gottlieb Key: Standard: Available

'O, really?' Toni could use one of those, he thought absently, taking his hand warmer and pressing it against his nose. He held it there for a while, astounded at how thoroughly he’d lost the feeling in his nose. It was quite amazing, really, that he could feel it again. He sincerely hoped someone would be home to let him in to the house when he got to Yino. A thought occurred to him: it was violently abrupt and he just as quickly stashed away the worrisome idea. ‘Ab you ga’en iny dobz yeb?’ Danny blushed and pulled the warmer away from his face. Letting out a nervous little laugh, he tried again. ‘Have you gotten any jobs yet?’ |

"Wha? Oh, no not yet..." Vincent thought for a moment. "Oh yeah, I did get one, but my parents want me to be a high mucky-muck business person, so they didn't let me do it..." Vincent pulled his hand-warmer out of his shoe and put it in the other. He made it sound like he didn't really care, but really that was another thing his parents did and he realized too late what had happened. |

Now, personally, Danny didn’t think there was anything wrong with business people, so he didn’t think it was very fair to be referring to the general profession as “high” and “mucky-muck,” but on the other hand, he thought that he sort of understood where Vincent was coming from. Actually, he kind of had the complete opposite problem. See, Vincent’s parents had set goals for their child, which it seemed that they expected him to follow to a tee. Danny’s parents, on the other hand, had no faith in their offspring whatsoever. They considered him worthless and, instead of encouraging him towards their goals and forbidding him from his own, simply informed him that he could not achieve any goals. For the longest time he’d believed them. But then he woke up. And that happened, coincidentally, on a ferry-ride much like this one: minus the company. The blonde held the hand warmer to one cheek, resting his whole head in that hand and turning to face Vincent some. ‘So what are you going to do about it?’ He kind of already knew the answer, but he figured he shouldn’t jump to conclusions… |

"Well, in light of this new incident, I may just live in Yino by myself. I'm guessing they have a bank there so I can get all my money and make an account that they can't get to." Vincent replied, now awake enough to really think this through. "How long are you staying in Yino?" Vincent asked, attempting to get his mind away from feeling too much spite for his parents. They did love him after all. Well...I think they did... |

Danny shrugged and leaned back against the glass once more, shuddering visibly as the cold hit him. ‘Yino is still in Kurin, so I’m sure you can access whatever account they have from there.’ It would be a completely different story if they’d met together on a clipper bound for Alish… …which would not have been an intelligent choice this time of year. The teenager slipped his warmer into his scarf and wrapped his arms around himself, suddenly chilly once more. ‘Um… actually… I’m not sure.’ Now he was getting worried. Maybe he should have planned this out a little more before buying that ticket. … Of course, if he’d planned it out more, he’d probably have reached the conclusion not to come, and then where would he be? Well… come to think of it- he had no idea where he’d be if he weren’t on this ferry. Because goodness only knew he wouldn’t want to be in Toni’s apartment. ‘I kind of… made a spur of the moment decision this morning.’ Danny grinned and flushed red in subconscious embarrassment. ‘I guess it wasn’t very well thought out.’ |

Vincent grinned back, holding the hand-warmer to his chest. "Sometimes, the best things come from something totally unexpected." Vincent said, attempting to seem all knowing. Suddenly the ferry halted to a stop. Vincent lurched forward and crashed into a random person in front of him who grunted and threw Vincent back on his seat. "Eh heh heh...Well, as I said before, if you find yourself in a rut, I could probably off some help," Vincent said kindly. "Unless it's a medical help... then go to the hospital..." He added, thoughtfully tossing his hand-warmer into the air. |

The abrupt halt caught Danny by surprise as well; he slid forwards off of his seat and onto the floor, where he proceeded to get stepped on multiple times by several different people. Eventually managing to pull himself back up off the floor, he grinned at Vincent, his sense of humor finally bubbling up. ‘Well then thanks anyways,’ he giggled, covering his face with one hand. Soon the cabin began to clear and it became evident that they had pulled into the docks in Yino. Standing and stretching, the blonde finally realized that in the sudden stop and the scuffle on the floor he’d lost his hand warmer. He frowned slightly and unwrapped his scarf, winding it around his hands in loose coils to attempt to keep them warm, unfortunately exposing the pale skin of his neck. He just couldn’t win, could he? ‘So, if you need a place to stay,’ Danny said thoughtfully, turning to Vincent, reluctant to file out with the rest of the passengers, ‘just for a little while, I think I can help you out there.’ After all of Vincent's kind offers, the teenager felt obliged to offer a favor of his own in return. It made him feel better just knowing that a complete stranger cared. ||OoC: Would you like to make a new topic in Yino, or shall I? Seeing as how they're there and all. x3 -fwee!-
