Dak caught it easily, looking much like a snake in those few seconds as he reared up to snatch teh note before becoming silent, holding the note in his mouth on his dry tounge with a faint grin to Rags when he turned and tried to grab Dak. Rags returned her smile in a half hearted, sleepy, not quite there manner before returning his attention to Dak.
Confusion and curiosity took him over as he relented, giving her a blank stare and then turning. He moved towards the wall as Dak nodded, urging her to follow mutely as rags crouched near the harness and lifted it easily onto his shoulders. "Ginger tea... Bread? I dunno... I really should start thinking about finding a job or food... Mmm... do you know much about animals?" He asked over his shoudler as he buckled the two straps across his chest and tightened the shoulder straps. "I was thinking an animal who's nicer than Dak would be intresting. He bites me all the time." Dak nodded cheerily at this as Rags stood and turned, waving her to follow him with his right hand, the left dug into his pocket.

Aerial took a guick step to walk next to Rags. "Mm, not much, except hawks. They're the only ones I ever see. I've been in the city for... a while..." she replied, trailing off. Air hadn't much liked the city. This place was much better. And with good companionship like Rags, well.

"Where are we going anyway." she asked. She folded her wings neatly behind her, quickly wiping away a trail of mascara on her cheek where the rain had washed it away. She was thouroughly soaked, but it felt good.

He grinned, thinking about the possibility of a hawk as a pet. "I'm not fond of cities myself. I may wind up selling some of this junk, I've run out of fuel for a lot of it, and it's not really useful." He motioned tot eh many tools. "Besides, they make it too easy, and they're abusive. I don't like doing that to plants if I cna help it." He trailed off, disappearing behidn teh wall and waiting again.

"There's a rather well built house somewhere in here, it's swamed with trees, but still standing and has an ancient woodburning stove I can still use. It hink it was novelty for the first owner, or maybe even decoration, but it's useful. Basically a makeshift home, now that you confirm there are floods here sometimes. It's too close to teh ground to be safe. But it will do for a while." Rags called back, now deciding from the street positions adn buildings where he should turn next.

Air nodded silently, noting how the ground was becoming more and more swampy by the miniute. "Do your tools really hurt the plants? I would have thought it was for thair own good." She smiled quietly, noting the expression on his face. She gave a long, shreiking whislte. All was quiet for a moment, but than, with a rush of wing, a reddish hawk landed on her outstreched arm. "Not much of a pet." she said. "Too proud, it'll never listen. Not a pet, a companion. They don't speak, but they're every bit as intelligent as you. Look it her eyes, and you'll see it." The hawk make a quiet whistle, and Air clicked in response. "She's hungry." she grinned.

"They were made my modern civilization for modern civilization,t he industrialized onse were. They only mean to dominate,a dn take no care in what they hurt. Like this." He pointed to a gold, brass,a nd copper weed eater based on an alien metal frame. "It can't cut down a thick stemmed plant very well, so it leaves only nicks if not pursued, inviting a host of paina nd ickt ot he poor plant." He glanced down at his feet, realizing they were bogged down already,a dn he ahdn't felt it. yankign his feet fromt eh mud he dashed to a road of cobblestones, gravel, and primative lime concrete, waving her over.
Back to the topic of hawks, he realized as she made the odd whistle that hurt his sensitive ears. He refused to clap he hands over his ears though and endured it, looking rather amazed when he saw the hawk land quite nicely on her arm.
"Oh, she's lovely. Yeah, they aren't much of pets... More of companions, Sorry, miss." He nodded tot eh hawk, extending an arm when he bowed before standing up again quickly and griving a lopsided smile. "Mm... We have mice, tha tmuch I know. Not much in the way of meat yet for food, but mice are abundant... Although, if we could ask that she hunts in the otehr room if she will... They ahve grown brazena dn nest int eh open,s o she should have no problem. Ifcat, I'm almsot sure they've forgotten what a hawk is..." The tail connecting him and Dak fluffed and shook as he shook his head. He didn't appriciate mice much, it seemed.

Alia smiled, and shook her head. "No, she'll find food on her own." She gave a low whistle, and the hawk flew off. She looked down in disgust at the quickly deepening mud. Carefull not to hit Rags, he opened her wings, and rose a few feet. She twisted in midair untill she appeared to be sitting, and reached down to her worn army boots. A flivked a finger over them, one at a time, and the mud flew off, blown away by a sharp gust. She smiled and landed carfully on a rock. "You better find your cottage soon," she grinned, "or you might go under, and I don't think I can lift you." With a cheery smile, she took off from the rock, and flew aboe his head, unwilling to land in the mud.

(Hmm. Aerial seems to be developing an interest in your charatcer. That's odd. I didn't think she was the type to go after alien soldier gardeners. Or the opposite sex, in general.)

((Rags is a cute concept. It's kinda not suprising (he's the male cute one, Kitta was the cute female one.) yeha, but he's been stalked, loved, attacked, etc. In many different forms... -is bad about reusing apparently successful characters- It's odd, becasue he wasn't designed like that. His original character was a very antisocial superhero with a magician sister who was a super villian. ANd then to be nice, I made a nice fluffy puppy version of him for a guild on neo,a dn then recycled him again (Because he started as anthro/human) into this. If there's an extremely stressful condition in his enviroment though, he's autistic. He can't handle it, and bcuase he can't fight (That's what Dak is, in a sens,e a block) and he feels the old urge to protect, so he jsut kinda, faints or goes insane and abandons people and things.-shrugs-))

"Oh... Okay." He waved after the hawk quietly before duckign away from Aerial so she could open ehr wings. "It's not too far away... Really, just twelve houses that way and I think four to the left. I think it was a church or a state building before. Really nicely built, may have been both." At the word 'really' he began to walk the rest of the length of the street before having to dash over the mud to avoid sinking until he reached the next strech of the road, turning the corner once this ended at a wide road with several broken down houses lining it. The large hosue had been attacked by several trees in it's life, but remained standing even though several trees had broken downt eh roof and taken up the corners, their bristling bare branches wavering in the rain, scraping agianst a rather well crafted slate shingle house.
Dodging the muck agian he barreled to teh door, lunging and opening them out quickly and skipping into the relativly warmer enviroment. It had it's fair share of missing floring also, though in these patches small spring flowers knotted together. Int eh far corner was a small stove, as he ahd said.
Beside this was a wooden crate filled with quartered logs, and a cabniet beside this that held provisions. The inside was stripped, which may have been teh confusion that Rags had felt over the original purpose of the building.

((Heh. I hope Air doesn't fall head over heels for him. She's not usually like this.))

Air tilted a wing, and swooped down through an old broken window. She folded her wings as she came through on pure momentum, but landed with a crash and a roll. With a soft moan, she sat up, cradling a wing in front of her. The white had turned to a sticky red, and blood dripped down onto her jeans and the floor. "I-I think," she stuttered, choking on her words, "that I didn't c-close it f-fast enough. I t-think it's broken." She tried to open it, but found quickly it was immobile. Well, this wasn't the first time she had hurt herself. She pulled a roll of duct tape from her pocket, and pulled a loose board from the floor, uing the two to create a makeshift splint. Aerial folded her good wing against her back, carefull not to touch her ingured one. A small pool of blood was still on the floor, growing bigger as her wing continued to drip. "Damn." she murmured softley. "Can't fix that."

He instantly dropped the harness, just inside the doorway. Rags dashed to ehr side, shivering form chill and sudden fear that his new companion may die without the help of unravelling DNA or whatever she ahd said was the problem. "Air... " He carefully examined her wing, looking for the laceration. "C-can It ouch it... I mean... just to look it over and... and stuff. Not..." His voice was breaking already, he was clearly terrified of this occurence, and it showed in all ways. "Aerial..." He moaned quietly before shutting his mouth with an indeterminable expression. Fear? Anger? Sadness? Indiffrence?

Dak fumbled with the note, tucking it into his cheek. "Broken... Probably worse than your splint there if it is..." he shushed weakly, wanting to clam Ragsa s much as possible but not really knowing how. He was a mutation designed to block him from stressful situations that might resurface anything about Big Wolf that may be harmful to the secrecy. And this was stressful, at least to Rags.
She was a load of trouble, Dak had known it. If only this idiot had ignored her, or listened to him. But he didn't hate her for it. Evne if it might seriously damage Rags and him. He didn't blame her for Rags' reaction.
Sometimes thigns had to get bad to get better, adn he ahd a feeling this was the bad before worse.

(We'll see. rags may show some sides she may not think too fluffy and cuddly. =d)

"Sure," Aerial murmured through clenched teeth. "I've seen worse." And it was true. She had broken almost every part of her body before, but always there had been Nikolai to come and fix it with his light, so contrary to his personality. "I'll be fine."

She shut her eyes tight against her tears, hoping to God he wouldn't notice her weakness. She opened one eye, and looked down to find that her hands were shaking violently. 'Wow,' she wondered. 'Is that really me?'

(Elizabeth's into creation now^^)

He skimmed the feathers of the wounded wing with stifened fingers at first before carefully trying to decide where the wound was located that bled so well. Rags drew back, looking confused and lost. "I-I can't tell..." He murmured. "Dak, I can't..."
"No kid... You can... Just..." Dak turned away at this.
"Dak... I need help, she needs help! Come on..."
"She was trouble, what did I tell you?" Dak growled, wieghting himself to the ground.
Rags turned to Aerial, emotions lost to a firm set, blank stare. He shook his head, sounding a little dazed when he opened his mouth. "A... A strip of cloth... I don't know if it hit anything major, and I can't figure out the break... and the only thing I can remember, is a tightly tied strip of cloth... But it could do more damage than good... If the bleeding's not bad, it could destroy the wing, if it's bad, then it could save your life, and I don't know what to do... The splint... I cna't see the break, I can't... but it needs to be set..." He chin droped, eyes down cast. "I'm sorry..."

"Don't-Stop-Just," Aerial murmured helplessly. Rgs emotions confused her more than her own. "I've set the break, I've set the whole wing, I can't see it either, and my whole wing is numb. But I can't do anything to stop the bleeding." Ah, now it all mad sense. Her hands were shaking from bloodloss. That made sense. At her slightest movement, the world swung wildly. She shook her head to try and clear it, but it didn't help a bit. 'Well, I've got nothing,' she though, and then the world went black.

He looked up jhsut as she realized the extent of the injury. "Air? Aeri- Aerial?" Rags snatched her wrists, drawing ehr close as he pressed a broad hand into the base of the wing, searching for the slowly dropping pulse. Finding hit he pressed with allt eh strength he could muster in his fingers and palm agaisnt it to at least slow it. WIht his other hand he fumbled with his shirt, working it off finally by ripping the thin fabric that acted as a partof the sleeve to remove it, and furthering the destruciton of it by ripping it with his teeth and free hand into a long strip.
"Aerial..." His own vision was doing a funny shivery thing, like a television with a bad connection. Dak had all but died now. He was quietly awaiting his part in this to kill the girl. If rags fainted now because of him, she would bleed to death. So he kept himself shut up rather well and as limp as possible, even allowing Rags to twap him onto the ground a few times in a frustrated wag of the tail as he worked to tie the strip of the wifebeater off tight at the base of her wing. "Air..."

She's goign to leave, one way or another, Dak thought as Rags whacke dhim agiasnt the floor in anotehr jarring slap of the tail. As soon as the kid's done playing docter, I'll give him the note... Even if she revives, she'll have a hell of a time living through this. Either the wing will die and rot, or she'll come to and try to fly.
Hm, such bitter thoughts, seeing as how he was supposed to be supporting Rags.

In her mind's eye, Aerial saw her brother. 'Damnit, no.' she thought. 'I just want...to....sleep...' But before she could loose touch completly, she thought of Alia. 'Fuck.No. Your mommy may be some sort of creep, but your dad's a good enough person. You don't need me.' She tried once more, but this time, she thought of Rags. 'Damnit.' she though, and with that, she woke up. "You guilt-tripped me." she managed to say, knowing that Rags himself had nothing to do with the image in her mind. She felt his hand on her wing, and a little shiver went down her spine. "You made me come back." The words came, not as an accusation, but as high praise. "Thank you. I think... I think you might just have saved my life."

"But not your wing. I'm sorry." Rags quietly admitted, now releasing her from the akward embrace sort of position, holding ehr upper arms to support her as he manuver intoa crouching position. I'll see what I cna do, I want to clean it up though. You're most likely a little woozy, and you should lay down... And I cn't help that, but..."
"We need to clean your wing in simple terms that evade this fool." Dak muttered, glaring at her.
"Sure... That." Rags himself sounded sleepy, as if he could drop off into a nice nap any moment himself. "I'm gonna... Gonna go get water... Warm... Warm water." With that he nodded, loosening his grip on her arms. Dak had revive dhimself only to make that short, snipish comment for Aerial before returnign tot eh limp appendage not really capable of much more than keeping the note tucked into his cheek until Aerial left, one way or another.

(Dak doesn't like Aerial. :S)
