Running through... that forest?

Snow drifted down from the Heavens snowflake after snowflake, each their own individual waiting to join with others in a big social event. They gathered on the trees, the rocks, the ground... Everything they could eventually land on and not melt. The gray skies from which they fell from hadn't changed in weeks, possibly even a few months now, but that was the fate of an eternally snowing forest, yet it was strange. How could it not be over-flowing with snow and how could the coniferous trees still have green needles?

Thoughts like these ran through Danny Lovles' head absently as he travelled through the light snowfall. He didn't exactly trudge through it, as the poor demon had the misfortune of losing control of his powers again. Instead, he took to floating above the snow. Not that he really had any choice in the matter. He wasn't quite the transparent ghost he usually was, which could be a plus in a way and negative in so many others. For one... He was cold. The long-sleeve shirt he had on helped on a little bit more than his usual tee, and he was very thankfuly for his black duster. His breath came out in mists that was only slighter warm than the air around him.

For two, the poor boy was insanely lost. He couldn't look to his footprints to figure out where he had gone and hadn't gone. He had laid none down, and apparently he hadn't been thinking enough to leave his own trail. How could he be that stupid to not leave a freakin' trail? This was turning out to be a great day. Or days, he couldn't tell anymore. Danny let out a noticable sigh and closed his incredibly silver eyes, deciding for the better to stop for the moment, to regroup his thoughts and probably himself. He took his hands out of the over-sized pockets and rubbed them together, and let his breath engulf what it could of his hands.
After sufficiently warming up his hands he decided to take a hand through his raven black hair, make sure it wasn't frozen. Thankfully it wasn't, and his hand slipped through easily. God, he just wanted to go home! He scared away the last person that could've helped him. He cursed himself for not learning his powers sooner, but that couldn't be helped now. It really couldn't and that was the third reason.

It's so easy to destroy and condemn.
Do you ever wonder if it's justified?

    {OoC: To avoid confusion, I am going to say that this is where Blair used to live before coming to visit Daisuke in Henraku. Meaning, this roleplay probably takes place before the one Lynn, Yumi & I currently have.}

    Sometimes he enjoyed the solitude. It was the only time he could think without distractions. It was good to be alone, once in a while...
    For that was how he truly felt now. Alone. And even though there were people around him, people who cared for him, watched out for him... He could quite never shake the feeling. How could he ever? He had no memories of his previous life before the accident. As far as he was concerned, he had no one. Not even himself.

    So he would wander out here to think. Not of anything in particular, but of everything. He would try to imagine a time before now, what life was like, what kind of person he used to be – anything to feel less alone. Blair wanted to desperately to have back what he had lost, even though he had little idea of just what that was. He thought of the photograph they had found on his person. Four faces, only one recognizable – his own. The teen would often find himself staring into the eyes of each individual in the picture, hoping... desperately hoping... that he would be able to remember them.

    Dressed heavily in warm clothing, Blair seemed to not be as affected by the cold as a certain someone else. He wore a dark brown jacket lined with faux fur on the inside, a long-sleeved beige&white striped shirt underneath, with another white tee beneath that, as well as a pair of faded jeans. The family that he was staying with for the time being, never let him leave the house without being properly dressed. While he appreciated their kindness, he could never return the same feelings to them... They would never be his family. He could never think of them as anything but the nice people who helped him out when he had nobody else. Blair always felt guilty when he thought of them that way. He had to admit, though, the attention was starting to get a bit much. He was being treated too much like a son, and he did not want this. How could he leave them, if they had loved him too much? The teen tried to keep his distance, tried not to get attached. It was very easy for him, but he wasn't sure if it would be the same for them.

    Blair kicked up a bit of snow as he trudged on through the endless white. His shoes were probably the only thing on him that he had not been forced to wear. Lime green Converse with hotpink laces. The same shoes he was wearing that night. He grinned at the thought of not matching the rest of his attire. It made him feel somewhat rebellious, and he enjoyed being able to make at least some decisions of his own.

    Suddenly, something caught his attention. It was the sound of something chirping... a horrible chirp that could only have meant one thing. Blair rushed ahead towards the sound, but soon slowed to a stop. In the snow lay a small violet colored bird, mangled and twisted, it's wings likely broken, breathing heavily what would be it's final moments. The fox-eared boy keeled to scoop the pathetic looking creature into his hands. He felt the warmth of blood trickle through his fingers... There were puncture wounds on this poor animal, as if it had been attacked. Instantly, Blair's mind flashed to the night his life had been forgotten. He remembered faintly the sound of a woman screaming, a bright light that blinded him... Followed then by the worst pain he could ever have imagined. It stung painfully in his mind. This was the last thing that he could remember, before found himself in a hospital bed, two kind strangers at his bed side. He couldn't remember how he got there, or even who he was. He would soon find out his name from the driver's license found inside of his plaid messenger bag. They were his only possessions, the only reminder of his old life...

    As Blair watched the dying bird squirm helplessly in his hands, he could not feel even the slightest amount of sympathy for the creature. Perhaps it was out of envy. This bird could go peacefully. It would not have to suffer a day of absolute loneliness, like he had to endure every minute of the past few months of his 'new' life. The bird would never have to feel this way, not like he did...

    Blair moved his fingers ever so gently to the neck of the bird, and with a small, but quick snap, it's suffering had ceased. Wild, orange eyes watched as the bird took it's last dying breath, and a rush of jealousy came over the fox. Why did he feel this way?

    Blair placed the animal back where he had found it. Wordlessly, he came to his feet and headed off into the direction he hoped would lead him away from these feelings. A trail of blood followed, for it still dripped from his finger tips.

    {OoC: Sorry if this isn't reply-able. xD; You can have Danny run into Blair or something, since the stupid fox isn't watching where he's going, anyway. lol.
    Please excuse any typos. I didn't scan it through.}

Danny snapped out of his self-pitying state and spun his head around, at the stronger scent of blood coming closer to him. He put his hand to his heart, focusing on its heartbeats.He could feel it's soft, paceful rhythm. Good, everything's okay, but what's this overwhelming smell? He further investigated at his spot, indentifying that it wasn't human blood. That was a relief in the larger picture, but it still the smell at all worried him. This wasn't the safest of place, even for a demon. Well, especially for a demon with no control over his powers.

Danny continued to scan the area directly in front of him. The continuing snowfall, the endless white with trickles of green or brown color, but no red and no other sign of life or fading life, for that matter. Maybe it is just nothing, and this forest is making me go crazy... The demon then took his hand from his heart and moved to turn around and go forward.Yet, there was something stopping him. It was of medium height, male, skinny andcarried traits of a fox, and it had just ran into the mirage demon causing him to shift off balancee. He didn't quite fall, but he was suddenly whisked into an almost laying position, floating in the air.
Danny's vision blurred for a moment and was spinning due to the sudden shock. This being's hands were covered in blood, and he couldn't tell what or who this person was, but if it meant harm.. This fall would've veen a whole lot worse and with, most likely, claws digging into him. So, he tried the cautious and nice approach. "A-ah, I'm sorry... Was I in your way?" His vision was slowly correcting, as it shifted to normal. He then recognized the being in front of him. "Blair?" He asked, but it was mostly in a tone that was of surprise and should've been kept in his head. No way. He should be with Daisuke. And on another continent, for that matter. How in the world, why...? Why was he here? And in the woods? Had something happened? Danny's mind went ballistic.

  • Unlike Danny, poor Blair did not have any nifty levitating powers to keep him from hitting the ground. He simply tumbled into the snow, thankfully having enough time to catch himself on his knees, rather than fall face-first. He shook off the pain from the collision almost instantly, and the act that followed soon after was the spouting of nonsensical apologies to whatever – or who ever, in this case – he had accidentally ran into. "Ah! Sorry! I... I am so sorry...! I didn't mean to... I'm sorry... I...!!" He was too dizzy from the fall to actually notice who it was he was apologizing to.

    But the dizziness dissipated as shock took it's place. Blair's head snapped up as an immediate reaction to hearing his name. He focused in on the stranger's face. He couldn't recognize him. at all. But how did he know his name? Had the fox's ears deceived him? Was the loneliness simply driving him mad?

    Placing his blood-stained hands on the ground in front of him, Blair used his arms as support so that he could rise to a stand as he pushed himself up off the ground. His eyes did not move from Danny's own silver pair, even as he did so. "How..." He wanted to ask so many questions at once, but figured it best to start from the beginning. He took a step back, shaking his head to clear his thoughts. "You know my name?" He asked with obvious caution in his voice.

Even before the fox boy had asked his questions, Danny had already confirmed who he was. The apology was enough for it to click in Danny's half-frozen mind who exactly it was. Sttill, it was a little unbelieveable. He still didn't know why he was here... Maybe it would come up in the conversation perhaps? If he hadn't scared him already, that is. "No, it's fine. No harm done, I think." Before he could swivel around to make sure, the demons attentino was caught by the boy's sudden change in reaction.

Such a strange reaction. he couldn't have hit his head that hard, could he? Danny slowly got back up into a more reasonable position, so Blair wouldn't be talking to his feet and legs. "Sorry, you just looked like someone I knew, I doubt with my mother's looks I'm not that forgettable..." At this point, he wanted to discern for himself what actually had happened to him. Obviously, he didn't quite remember Danny, otherwise things might have gone a little differently. Not too differently, but different enough. "But it seems I was right the first time. Yes. I do know your name and I do know you, to get that question out of the way."

Danny hesitated with his next action, unsure if he needed to do it or not. "My name is Danny Lovles, if that helps you any." He smiled a little during his little introduction, trying his best not to look scary. Please, please let it be he just hit his head too hard. He worried in his head, not only for lost memories, but for what had hurt him. What happened, worried him the most.

  • Now that the boy had introduced himself, Blair no longer felt the need to be cautious. In fact, at the moment, he was actually thankful that he had ran into him! He wasn't going insane, this person really had said his name. It was proof enough for Blair that the raven haired teen knew him, perhaps not in this life... but the life before. The life that he himself could not remember.

    Danny Lovles... He tried to place the name with the face, but could not. He had never seen this boy, not in the few months that he lived since the accident, anyway. But at some point he had known him, and Blair found this thought to be very comforting. "Sorry... I can't remember." He looked somewhat panicked when he realized that Danny might take offense to this. "I can't remember anything, actually." He clarified. "But maybe you can help me."

    He would have started asking questions there, but something else caught his attention. Blair scanned Danny curiously. He didn't look like he was dressed to stand in the snow for hours answering questions. The fox instantly felt bad. "Do you want to go somewhere? Out of the snow, I mean?" He asked sheepishly, trying not to look as hopeful as he felt. He would have asked the boy over to his own place, but he didn't think the family that he lived with would appreciate him bringing over strangers. Even if this particular stranger had known him at some point.

Danny noticeably sighed at Blair's lack of knowledge about him, letting out a whole new puff of white mist. This certainly going to be interesting. What in the world could he say about himself? Oh yes, you don't remember me, but I loved you even though you were loyal to your half-cheating brother! ... Oh yeah right. That was going to go over so well. He put a hand to his face, and let his palm slide down a bit before removing it fully off. He'd rather not explain why he had just took that motion, at this moment in time. "You can't remember anything...? At all?" The mirage demon looked to Blair in surprise, so he had lost nearly everything except his name... Which means, Danny was right again. Man, he did hate it when he was right.

"Yes, I will try to hep as much as I can," he let out an extremely noticable shiver. "Though, some place much warmer than here, would be preferable. You seem to know the area better than I do, so if you would please?" He tried not to seem overjoyous over his want to find warmth. It would bring up the question of how long he's been out here, which would heavily embaress him and/or cause much worry.
