The merge happened last night. Dublin had put forth incredible teamwork and won the "Belly up to the Bar" challenge, and Limerick voted out Adam. It makes me wonder if Adam was rubbing EVERYONE over there the wrong way...and they were just humoring him while they contemplated getting rid of Dave? This makes me suspect that Cirie, Julie, and Sierra have all bonded very tightly, and Brooke/Amanda may have both bonded with that trio as well. In terms of raw numbers, Dublin still has a seven-person voting advantage (nine, if Brooke and Amanda were to side with us). But, from my perspective, we don't want to take anything (or anyone) for granted. I wouldn't put it past any of the former Limerick tribe members to try to flip someone, and I'm most worried about it being Joel...especially if any of the Dubliners have inadvertently let it slip that I threw around Joel's name as a backup plan (in preparation of the scenario where we might have lost immunity, last night), and if Joel grows too trusting of Brooke. So far, I've heard nothing from Cirie; I'm sure she's just nervous about what she should say to any of us Dubliners. Sierra and Julie have both been more outgoing and receptive to me; but I've kept it as mostly small talk and pleasantries, so far. I feel that's the safest route; if I begin chattering a lot about my Dublin tribemates, I'm afraid I might be giving Sierra/Julie/Cirie or even Brooke/Amanda potential ammunition to use against me in this next round. I really don't want to overplay by telling them too much that they could try to leverage against me against my own Dubliners. Julie seemed especially keen on chatting it up with me, so I'll have to keep my eye on her. This is a new tribe. Old tribal loyalties don't disappear completely. But any of my allies could entertain thoughts of turning on us. Hopefully they wouldn't do so this early past the merge. But again: I take nothing for granted. It's been really quiet throughout the day today...and that makes me nervous. I suppose I need to keep in mind that everyone else has other stuff going on in their lives than just this game. Still, if I'm not able to check in with our Dublin alliance and talk about sticking with our voting bloc, I'm afraid that might mean I'm the one being targeted by the Limericks...and they may try to flip a former Dubliner or two over to their side. Brooke is potentially a very pivotal player in terms of my game. I'm playing it cool with her...but my antennae are still up because she's probably wondering who voted her over to Limerick in the first place. And I'm certainly not going to broach that topic with her voluntarily. She's also been logged online A LOT today (at least, during the times I've checked in). However, virtually no one else from either of the other former tribes has been logged in very frequently. So while that's not necessarily a red-flag, I'm probably going to be still feeling very skittish until I have the chance to talk with my alliance again. |
