This page will eventually hold information regarding all past Super Smash Bros. Tournaments and any future Super Smash Bros. Tournaments.
History:
The first Super Smash Bros. Tournament was at Josh F.'s house at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2007. The tournament was with Super Smash Bros. Melee. It ended at about 11 p.m. and had a Singles round as well as a Doubles Round. There was 22 human entrants and two CPUs. Aaron F. won the Individual Round as Fox and Josh F. took second place as Luigi. Josh F. and Dylan H. won first place in the Team Round as Marth and Falco. Aaron F. and Preston H. won second place as Dr. Mario and Roy. There was Little Ceasar's pizza, chips, PowerAde, Juiceboxes, Soda and water bottles available for people to enjoy. There was also a Carem board set up to play out back. There was three TVs with two Gamecubes and a Wii connected to them. The Wii and one Gamecube had a Melee disc inserted and the other Gamecube had either Custom Robo or Soul Calibur II depending on what the entrants wanted to play. The tournament TV was the big one with a Melee disc and was the farthest one on the left in the pictures. Someone also put a sticker of Michael Clark Duncan's face on Josh's refridgerator. Todd S. dropped a mentos into a Sprite as well to which he quickly moved it to the kitchen sink. When most of the Kyle Krew (consisting of Todd S., James D., Kellen R., and David Y.) arrived they conducted a reenactment of a battle from the movie 300 dressed as Spartans in cardboard armor with cardboard weapons.
The second Super Smash Bros. Tournament was at John C.'s house at 2 p.m. on Friday January 2, 2009. The tournament was completed using Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii. It ended at about 10:45 p.m. and consisted of an Individual Round and a Team Round. About 37 human entrants were expected and due to unexpected events and such there were 31 entrants come tournament time with nine CPUs. Refreshments included Dominoes pizza, chips, soda, water bottles, Gatorade, a bunch of veggies, trail mix, cookies, and parmesan cheese. There were two TVs and a projection screen that were used as well. The projection screen was used for the tournament and the screen was cloned to two other TVs as well. Another large TV had a XBOX 360 hooked up with Left for Dead being played the most on it. The other TV was a practice TV for Brawl. Although all control schemes were allowed everyone only used the Gamecube controllers to play. The first place winner of the Singles Round was Spencer L. as Snake. The second place winner of the Singles Round was Preston H. as Fox. The third place winners of the Individual Round were Alan A. as Marth and Aaron F. as Olimar. The first place winner of the Team Round was Spencer L. and Cassandra L. as Snake and Ike. Their team name was, "Better Than You!". Second place in the Doubles Round was earned by "Team Josh!" with Josh F. and Josh P. as Wolf and R.O.B. Third place was taken by the, "APUSH Survivors!" of David Y. as Zelda and Kenneth O. as Kirby as well by Andrew P. as Ike and a level five CPU as Wolf. An assassination plot was created against Josh F. by Todd S., David Y., Brandon Y., and Matt G. to stab Ceasar with cardboard daggers. Those four conspirators arrived to the party wearing togas and eventually surrounded Josh F. and began to recite their lines. Josh cut them short by saying, "Just stab me now" and then they each took a turn at stabbing Josh. There was also a Foosball table that a lot of people played some games with. The winners of first, second and third places each received an award certificate of recognition for their acheivements.
The third Smash Bros. tournament was in the summer of 2009 at John C.'s house at 11 a.m. on Sunday August 9, 2009. Super Smash Bros. Brawl was played and had a singles and a doubles round. A total of 47 entrants were expected, but that number dropped to 37 with last minute cancellations. The results were a little different with Spencer not taking first in either round like he did in both rounds of the previous tournament. Aaron F. as Wario took first in the Singles round and Josh F. as Falco and Aaron F. as Wario took first in the doubles round. The prank that Todd and friends decided to go with this time was to have a majority of the people wear a black shirt, khaki shorts and flip flops to look like Matt G. They also acted like him making his type of noises and using his phrases.
