PRISONS So...you are a villian. Or a misunderstood vigilante who does things a little over the top. Either way, a super hero group or the police finally take you down. Now what? Well, since you are so dangeorus, you are going to be sent to the a prison suited for the likes of you to live out your sentence! Maybe not all of them, if you become reformed...or escape somehow. It won't be easy living the prison life though, as you are considered deadly before anything else, and the guards there know this and are fully aware of what you are capable of. Which is why when you arrive, you will be treated to a specialized cell and only allowed outside of it during preset scheduled appointements with the local shrink... though you could get lucky. Be prepared... because this is your new personal hell. Prison Life There isn't a whole lot to do when in prison except sit and think about what you've done in your criminal/vigilante life and what you could have done to avoid getting caught or how you may change your ways and get early parole. It isn't fun, but you made your choices and now you are paying for them. In getting used to this, there are a few aspects that will remain as you embark on your new life in prison. The first is the cell itself. This is where you will eat, sleep, and relieve your bowels. This is your new home. The dampening fields that surround you will restrict your ability to use your powers, as the cell is designed to nullify 10 of your powers (chosen by the staff) as per a permanent Power Negation power. If that isn't enough incentive to try not to do anything stupid, the cell is also equipped with sleeping gasses and electrical fields, the latter being capable of being turned on indefinately if they consider you dangerous enough. This is your new home, so get used to it. The second are the guards. Usually security forces are hand picked from the meanest, toughest cops, military, and security from across the country. Those who aren't afraid to bash your skull in if it means stopping you from escaping. And those who do not fear death, but embrace it as part of the job. Equipped with power armors supplied through a military contract, they are capable of great feats of strength, speed, and stamina and are more than willing to chase you down or shoot you with their high-tech firearms. These guns are capable of shooting various rounds, some specified towards those with armored hides, immunities, or whatever else you'd try to protect yourself with. In other words, don't try to escape and you won't get shot. The third aspect is getting to see the prison shrink, though this mainly applies to the Arkham Asylum. Male or female, it doesn't matter. It's simply the doctors they have at the prison to try and evaluate you and find out what has made you what you are and hopefully recover whatever humanity you still have left. When it is time for you to go, you are dressed in a harness that limits your movement and works just like the dampeners in your cell. With the guards walking you to the shrink and keeping a watchful eye on you regardless, there is little opportunity to escape. However, within the walls with the criminal psychologist, you are free to speak your mind in any way you wish without fear of being pummeled or rejected. The shrink is there to help you, not hurt you, and may even recommend medication if they deem it necessary. Bonuses for Good Behavior When you behave in prison, you may start to receive special privileges. By not trying to escape all the time or making it difficult on the guards, you could end up getting all sorts of benefits. Among the smallest and first the allowance to decorate your cell with trinkets, obviously only those approved by the warden. Become the star prisoner and get all the riches you can think of, except, not really. But you will be rewarded for your good behavior, though it depends on the warden and yourself. Punishment for Bad Behavior Of course, you could constantly try to make a ruckus and try to escape, and then be at the warden's mercy in the end. The first thing that will happen is that anything you had gained prior for being good will be taken away. There is also a high chance of being beaten to the ground by the guards and if things get really bad, then solitary confinement is the worst of the bunch. The lowest levels of the prison are meant for the worst of the prisoners and to get to that area requires a lot of security bypasses in addition to special keys. Once in solitary, there is nothing to keep you company but the scrape of the plate of food across the darkness, only bathed with light when the food comes in. So, please, for your sake, behave. Release/Escape There are basically 3 ways to get out of a prison. The first, and perhaps simplest, is dying. But don't think it's eay. The security guards and other personnel will do whatever they can to keep you alive. And you'll be closely watched afterwards, making leaving in other ways even more difficult. The second way is to escape or be rehabilitated in some way, or fake being rehabilitated. It can happen in a number of ways, and we encourage you to be creative about it... However, the way that you get out must be approved by the staff before you get out... So don't start posting an escape thread before you got that approved. To escape like this, you will need to post a number of words based on the amount of time you've spent in prison: - Waiting 1 week: 7000 words - Waiting 2 weeks: 5000 words - Waiting 3 weeks: 2000 words - Waiting 4+ weeks: 1000 words The third and final way to escape is to join the Suicide Squad. The Suicide Squad is a way of using the baddies for good. Those that are approved for the Suicide Squad (and it won't be everyone) will be fitted with a chip that can hit them with a level 10 electric blast, should they try to escape, and will then be sent on a number of missions (usually 1 or 2) before being released. A certain number of charcters need to join the Suicide Squad before missions can begin, however. Again, your character can't just join the Suicide Squad, he or she will have to be approved for the team.
