Metropolis Under Attack?

It seems that Metropolis has come under attack from the super villain known only as Solomon Grundy. Though at first Grundy appeared only interested in robbing a bank, he has now been engaged by Superman, Wonder Woman and a green skinned man in a blue and red costume.
Though his reporter cannot claim credit for doing so, older readers of the Daily Planet might remember Solomon Grundy for having fought the Justice Society of America once, while the legendary team of heroes was still active. At that time, though Solomon Grundy seemed to posses great strength, the Justice Society of America was able to defeat him, especially due to the powers of Green Lantern and Starman. While the Flash and Wildcat distracted Solomon Grundy, Green Lantern would use his power ring to trap Grundy, rendering him immobile and open from attack for Starman, who hit him with the full power of his cosmic rod. Seemingly destroyed, Solomon Grundy was believed dead.
Until today, that is. Now it seems that Solomon Grundy has not only reappeared, but that he is stronger than ever. Savagely making his way into the vault, he begun grabbing at the money, before being confronted by a man in a trench coat, who would quickly show to be much more than he appeared to be, as Grundy stormed towards him, most likely intending to crush the life out of the unfortunate man.
Solomon Grundy was, however, stopped in his tracks by the sudden appearance of Superman. His mere presence, as he stood before Solomon Grundy and between the monster and his target, seemed enough to halt the beast, at least for a moment. Perhaps the memory of the equally colourful members of the Justice Society of America was awakened in the monster’s mind, or perhaps he was simply stunned by the sudden appearance of Metropolis’ own hero.
Behind Superman, the man was changing, having seemingly become intangible.
To further aid in the defeat of Solomon Grundy, the woman known as Wonder Woman suddenly appeared. Visiting Metropolis as a part of her visit to the United States, after announcing her presence and intentions to the leaders of the United Nations. She struck the beast in the back, hindering any more movement.
Solomon Grundy seemed confused for a time, simply staring upon the two heroes, as the man behind Superman shifted change. His skin became green and he was now wearing a predominantly blue uniform, with red elements, including a red X across the chest. Yet another super hero on the scene to stop Grundy’s rampage?
Without wasting much time talking as Solomon Grundy attacked them again, Superman and Wonder Woman attacked, Wonder Woman hitting the beast’s face while Superman hit it with full force, lifting it off the ground and flying upwards at incredible speeds, seemingly attempting to bring it away from the city. In mid-air, he was hit by a powerful blow from Grundy, however, knocked out of the sky. Regaining his momentum, however, Superman was last seen grasping Grundy by the foot and flying out of Metropolis with him in tow.
