A silent step.

Ears Low.

Short Legs keeping him even lower to the ground in their crouch.

Then in a flash, he sprang forward.

A snarl was released from the corgi's maw as it snapped down tightly, shaking his head as the boar he got a hold of tried to run. Another tight grip and a SNAP was heard as the throat crushed.

Dean grinned as he pulled back green eyes on his kill. Victory was his. He leaned his head back releasing a howl that was distinctly corgi.

Soon enough the hungry members of the pack arrived. First was the dark sable, his brother and co-alpha of their pack, Sam.

Surprisingly the next one to arrive was the 'old goat', Bobby. Despite the graying of the brown-headed tri's fur you knew better than to call him old out loud. Adam made that mistake once, he now has a permanent chunk missing out of his ear.

The pup learned at least.

Speaking of said pup, Adam arrived next. The fawn colored beta male that was slimmer in build than he himself was.

Dean grinned nodding his head to the kill, "Dinner." Was his simple answer.

Since the boar was large enough for four Corgis to all eat at once, they dived in together, all too hungry to really care about any sort of protocol when it comes to eating order.

Dean sat back once he was full licking the blood from his lips as he looked around the area some. He could hear them.

The scavengers starting to lurk in at the smell of a fresh kill. Dean gave a warning growl when a particular buzzard landed a bit too close to his still eating family, barking as he lunged at the large bird scaring it back into flight.

A low whuff grabbed Dean's attention and turned seeing the gray face of Bobby looking at him.

Dean took this as invitation and walked to the 'old mans' side. "Yea Bobby?"

"You've smelled it right?"

Dean's head tilted to a side a bit, large ears flicking about some, twitching at the sound of something else trying to get close. "The scavengers? I'd be stupid not to."

Bobby growled at him and huffed, "No you idjit, they're always there. Something new braniac. Use your damn nose."

Dean didn't enjoy being told that, but he turned, lifting his muzzle to give a few whiffs. Sadly, he's had his nose broken to many times in one to many bar fights, he couldn't really smell much of anything over the boars blood.

Dean looked back at Bobby gulping, "Uh, the Boars blood is definitely new..."

The paw that came up to smack him upside the head was too quick for Dean to pull away.

"You damn idjit, you really need to get your head out of your ass and use your nose more often! But there's someone on our territory you dumbass!"

Dean blinked, "Oh well, why didn't you say so Bobby? When the others ar-"

"Done!" was chorused from Sam and Adam, all that was really left of the boar was skin, bone, and a few guts none of them really wanted to eat.

Dean rolled his eyes, "Well Bobby, use your oh so wonderful magical sniffer and lead the way!"

Bobby growled grumbling under his breath, short legs moving to get him turned around and leading the way.

Dean fell a step behind Bobby, Sam was right on his heel and then Adam trailed behind the whole lot of them.

When Bobby came to an abrupt stop, so did the rest, Adam taking a few more steps to catch up to the faster corgis.

Dean looked at Bobby watching as he tilted his head to infront of them after turning to look at him.

Dean took this as cue to move forward, glancing to Sam who gave a nod, both Alpha brothers pushed through the brush.

To be met with the strong smell of an omega, and the snarl and snapping of that omega's teeth.

They both jumped back, baring their own teeth releasing their own snarls.

The corgi before them was so short it almost looked like he should be laying down.

Dean snarled lowering his stance as he spoke sharply, "You have some nerve snarling at two alphas there omega. Especially when you're on their land!"

This caused the short omega before them to pause in his snarling, his lips lowering but his two canines still peeked from under his lips.

"You mean to tell me, we made it to anothers territory?"

Dean and Sam exchanged glances, before Sam looked forward again, "Yes. Why?"

The fight in the omega seemed to fade as his body relaxed, "Hear that Cassie?" The short omega started to turn from the two alphas now and it only confused Dean and Sam more.

They watched with surprise as the short one stepped over to the fluffiest corgi either of them had ever seen.

Dean was stepping forward slowly followed by Sam as they watched the standing omega lick the others face.

With all the fluff on the other corgi's legs they couldn't tell if he was laying down or standing, if he was standing he was as short as the other omega.

Dean slowly stepped closer, nose working furiously, picking up the scent of omega, must have been coming from both of them if he could really smell it as strongly as he was.

Then the eyes opened after the short omega finally finished licking his face and Dean felt like his heart stopped for a few brief moments.

Those eyes were just so fucking blue!

"So..." Dean started looking at the two omegas, who turned their eyes to them. "I'm Dean... This is my brother, Sam..."

Sam gave a nod of his head, the tall corgi stepping closer, but still stayed behind Dean to not intimidate the two omegas more.

The shorter one that had been all bite at them earlier grinned, showing off more of his teeth, "I'm Gabe! This is Cassie!"

'Cassie' groaned, "No, It's Castiel. And he's actually Gabriel."

Castiel. Dean liked that name. "So, why are you here?"

Gabe opened his mouth to answer, but Castiel spoke before he could, "Our old pack was attacked, the alpha murdered, we just ran."

Gabe huffed, "Aw c'mon Cassie, there goes all of our mystique!"

Castiel looked at him boredly before looking back to the two alphas before them. "If we must move off your territory we will go..."

Before Dean or Sam could say that it was fine they didn't have to go, the Black headed Tri, with the gorgeous body that Dean couldn't help but note, was getting to his feet.

That's when the sharp metallic tang of blood hit them both.

Castiel was injured.

By the amount of blood beneath where he'd been laying, quite badly.

Dean growled, "Stay put." He snapped, turning his head as Castiel just flopped back to the ground and he barked, "Bobby! Get your ass out here!"

Bobby grunted as he came out of the brush, Adam on his heels. The two betas moved around the two alphas, taking in the situation.

Adam moved first, going towards the two omegas, Gabriel stepped back but still close enough that he could bite someone if need be.

Adam moved and with a crunch of bones he was suddenly in his human form, hands moving over Castiel's body looking for the injuries.

What he found made him frown and look to Dean. "This isn't good Dean. I'm amazed he made it here."

This had Gabriel pacing whining as he licked at his brothers face once more.

Dean took a breath, "We better get him back to the rest of the pack, we'll have more supplies there."

That was when Dean took to his own human form and moved, despite Gabriel's stare, and lifting Castiel as gently as he could as Cas remained in his own corgi form. He couldn't help but run his fingers through the fluff as he turned, "Lets go."

Nods were given and Gabriel was following on such short legs Dean was surprised he was moving faster than Adam.

Of course Adam was a slow poke, it was just that way with his youngest brother.

When they reached their home base all the ones on their feet took to their human forms at this point.

Gabriel and Castiel looked around surprised. Unlike most skin-walkers these guys lived more in their human forms. They had homes just like you'd find in human cities.

The only difference, it didn't carry the human stench.

Castiel was struggling to keep his eyes focused to watch everything going by him as Dean carried him.

Before passing out, he did notice they were approaching a large building that reminded him of a human bar he saw once, the sign on it read 'The Roadhouse'.

Ellen looked up as the door opened blinking at the boys with the two new comers. The Collie rolled her eyes with a huff, "What did you do now Dean?"

Dean made a face, "Why did I have to do something?"

"Well you're holding a passed out dog."

Dean growled at her implication, "I did not do anything to him! He was hurt when we found them!"

She laughed softly, "Sure. There was no soap dropping involved. Now, bring him to the back."

Ellen led the group to the back, where Jo looked up from what she was mixing, what it was no one would want to ask, but Dean approved of all the different whiskey bottles scattered around.

"Jo, get the med kit from under the sink, then meet us upstairs."

Jo was about to protest, that it was 'just a Winchester' when she noticed Dean was actually carrying someone she's never seen before. So she mutely nodded and moved to do just as she was asked.

At this point, Bobby made him self comfortable with a bottle of the whiskey and headed back out to the main bar area, Adam following him so he wouldn't be in the way.

It was only Sam, Dean, and Gabriel that followed Ellen up the stairs. Castiel did as well, but of course that was because Dean was carrying him.

When they got upstairs, Ellen led them to the guest room that was part of their above the bar home.

Dean laid Castiel down and a hand gently shook his shoulder, in hopes to wake him.

Thankfully it worked.

"Hey, Cas, Take your human form?"

Before Ellen realized just what a bad idea that was, Castiel was shifting forms.

The low whine turned into a scream as Castiel cried out, his body trembling in pain.

Dean yelped as he was smacked upside the head with Ellen glaring at him, "You idiot!"

Gabriel pushed the two out of his way and sat on the bed beside his brother, hand going through his hair, "Shh, shh Cassie, it's all right."

Castiel looked up at him weakly, panting softly, doing his best to hide the pain if not for himself, then his brother.

Gabriel gave him a smile but turned as Jo finally entered and watched as Ellen took the med kit and ushered her out telling her to, "Tend to the bar."

Jo didn't like it but she gave her mother a nod and left the room, shutting the door on her way out.

Dean was pacing and it took Sam putting a hand on his shoulder to get him to still.

With the help of Ellen, Gabriel set to work on wrapping his brothers injuries, they even had to go so far as to use some of the whiskey to get Cas to drink, since some of them needed stitches.

Gabriel nearly had his brother choke down an entire bottle before he allowed Ellen to stitch up the deeper slashes across his torso, since his own hands were trembling too much to just do it himself for his brother.

Once everything was cleaned, stitched and then wrapped Castiel's chest was more bandage than skin.

Gabriel ended up knocking back the rest of the bottle that he'd gotten Cassie to drink. When it was empty he tossed it onto the side table a little less gracefully than he normally would.

His hand gently went through his brothers hair, watching as he tiredly watched him in return.

"Get some sleep Cassie."

"Mnm, dun...wanna" he muttered softly, his speech affected from one his exhaustion, and secondly and more importantly the over half a bottle of whiskey he had ingested.

Gabriel chuckled softly smiling down at him, leaning down and kissing his brothers forehead, "Yea? Then what do you want little brother?"

That's when Dean seemed to perk up. "He's your brother?"

Gabriel slowly turned to look at him frowning. "Back off Alpha."

Dean huffed rolling his eyes, "I'm not going to jump him while he's mostly bandages, I don't have a mummy fetish!"

Ellen shook her head leaving the room quietly leaving them to bicker for the moment.

It was Sam that cleared his throat, "I think what Dean meant, is you don't really look anything alike, that and you're a lot shorter than he is..."

Sam stopped talking as Gabriel's eyes came to glare at him instead, gulping some.

"Shut up you fucking Moose." Was Gabriel's harsh response glaring at him, before looking back to Dean with that same ferocious glare. "My brother and I might just be omegas, but I'm not going to tolerate any of your alpha mumbo-jumbo bull shit. Not when it comes to him. I will cut your balls off and feed them to a wild boar before allowing you to do that to him. Capiche?"

Dean blinked a few times, rather truly stunned, green eyes flicked from Gabe, to Sam, back to Gabe, then to Sam and couldn't help but smirk. "He called you Moose."

"Dean! That's what you got from that!?" Sam snapped giving him a bitch face.

Bitch face 21 to be exact if you ask Dean.

Dean shrugged, "Hey it was a new one if you ask me."

Sam shook his head a hand rubbing his temple, "Yea, we got it Gabriel."

Gabe nodded sharply, opening his mouth to snap something else, before the door was slammed open making the three men jump.

Ellen was then pulling things from the pile in her arms chucking respective things at each, "Shut your traps and get dressed before you chase off all of my customers."

Dean and Sam just complied while Gabriel stared at the fabrics in his hands.

"What are these exactly?"

Three heads snapped to him looking at him confused.

Gabriel huffed frowning, "What?"

"What do you mean what are these?" Dean snapped.

Gabriel growled, "Hey, my old pack stayed in our fur! I don't know!" he snapped angrily.

Really, with all that fury in that small package Dean was surprised he hasn't exploded. Or at least ya know, gotten taller, seriously.

Sam thankfully spoke first, "It's clothes. You took your human form easily enough, you must have used it?"

Gabriel frowned shaking his head sighing, "Yea when an alpha wanted to fuck around with us. Seriously just tell me what the hell I'm to do with them and stop looking at me like that."

Sam slapped a hand over Deans opening mouth and shook his head glaring at him, "For the love of god Dean don't poke the little bear."

Gabriel's eye twitched. "Well played Moose."

Dean smirked but pulled the hand off his mouth, "So, I'll get Cas dressed, Sam help your, little bear" He moved quickly around them before any protests could be given.

Sam frowned as Gabriel still glared at him but eventually sighed, "All right..."

~~~
Once Castiel was asleep, Gabriel was finally pried from the room only due to his hunger. Really the Moose complained about his growling stomach.
Gabriel had snapped at the tall alpha when he touched his arm to pull him out of the room but Sam just gave him this look that made him huff but nod getting up to follow them downstairs.
When they got downstairs he was quite happy to find food ready for them. Burgers namely. Gabriel didn't care what it was, it was food. He wanted badly to take one up to his brother, but with him passed out from everything there was no way he'd eat it.
Gabriel felt a smidge guilty eating when his brother hasn't gotten to since they escaped the attack, but oh well. There was nothing he could really do about it.
That and his hunger won.
Gabriel nearly inhaled the first burger that was set in front of him surprising everyone, but no one verbally judged him and Ellen even set another one in front of him.
Gabriel gave a sheepish, "Thanks" and ate this one at a more respectable pace.
When the group finally finished eating, Gabriel started to stand but Ellen was bringing something from the kitchen, and damn the smell even had Gabriel planting back into his seat.
Everyone got pie. Gabriel's never had pie before, but he learned quickly that like Dean--by the way the elder Winchester inhaled the two slices he was given--that he liked pie. It was sweet, and the crust was warm and flakey.
Gabriel had a whole new respect for apples.
When there was only one slice left in the pan he saw Dean reach for it, and he unashamedly smacked his hand and pulled it towards himself. "Nuh-uh Alpha boy, it's for Cassie." he growled a bit when the alpha glared at him, but thankfully he backed off and allowed him to take it.
Finally standing he took the slice upstairs with him. Granted the pie was probably not the best thing to take up to his brother, but it was something, right? He was pretty sure his softy brother would like it anyhow.
Gabriel smiled seeing Castiel still sleeping, he sat on the edge of the bed, his hand moving to try and smooth down his wild hair. It didn't help, but it gave him the sense that he was accomplishing something for his little brother.
Gabriel had remained alongside of his brother. When Cas had woken, later that night, Gabe helped his little brother eat the pie, by using the fork to make it smaller pieces and fed it to him.
When Castiel fell asleep once more Gabriel moved to carefully lay next to him. The older of the two brothers looked sadly to the bandaged chest of his brother. There was nothing he could do to help Castiel to heal faster. It would have to heal with time. He just hoped that whoever had attacked their pack had not followed them. If that ended up being the case, would this here Winchester pack protect them? Or would they just turn them over?
Gabriel forced his eyes shut and took a deep breath, there was no point in worrying over it now. There was nothing he could do, and he didn't even know if they'd been chased after.
They were just two omegas at least, he just hoped their other omega brother got away, not to mention the beta's, and his older alpha brother.
Gabriel struggled to put his worries to rest, but he must have fallen asleep at some point for he was being woken up by someone entering the room.
Gabe let out a vicious snarl as he sat up some, to find Sam and Dean both freezing in their steps.
Gabe watched them warily for a moment, but his nose picked up the smell of food before his eyes did. He slowly relaxed groaning as he slumped back against the bed. "You guys are way too noisy." he grumbled.
Dean cleared his throat first, "Well, we knocked but you didn't answer."
Gabe huffed, not admitting to not hearing that. He looked over to them and slowly pushed himself to sit up to have Sam putting a tray on his lap, and Dean set the one he carried on the bed side table.
"Figured you would like some breakfast Gabe." Sam spoke gently, hands fidgeting now there was nothing in them to preoccupy them.
Gabriel gave a faint nod smiling a bit, but he shook his head and looked towards the tray Dean had set down noticing a glass of juice and a simple bowl where his had some fluffy round things he's never seen before.
Gabriel learned that he liked syrup. Especially poured excessively over those fluffy round things he was told were called pancakes. Seriously, the whole doing things and living in ones human form? Apparently rocked. Really rocked.
When he was finished he finally turned to Dean once more, "So, Whats in the bowl Dean-o?"
"Dean-o?" Dean made a face but pushed it back for later, "Some oatmeal, he won't tire himself out trying to eat it. When he's feeling better he'll get more solid things."
Gabe nodded, moving to give Sam his emptied off tray, and motioned for Dean to hand him the bowl with one hand as the other gently brushed against his brothers face, "C'mon Cassie, time to wake up."
A groan was heard before those eyes opened, blinking tiredly as they looked up to his older brother.
Gabe just grinned, and went through the process of trying to help Cas sit up some without much effort so he wouldn't hurt himself, since it'd do no good for him to choke, then helped him to eat and drink.
When finished that tray was given to Dean, who just passed it off to Sam.
Sam grumbled the entire way out of the room to take them downstairs.
Gabriel looked up to Dean, head tilting to a side as he helped Castiel to lay back down. Once his brother was asleep he asked gently, "You like my brother don't you?" His tone was accusing.
Dean lifted his hands up in a motion of surrender. "I told you I don't have a thing for mummies, I'm not gonna do anything while he's hurt. I also won't do anything if he doesn't want it done."
Gabriel growled a little bit despite the words, "If I catch you giving him bad touches while he's still recovering I'll rip your balls off."
Dean just nodded, "Yea you won't catch me..." At the look of Gabe's face he was quick to correct, "Not like that! I won't be doing it at all for you to catch! Not that I'll be sneaky about it! What kind of Alpha you think I am?"
"Uh, an Alpha, duh?"
Dean growled softly glaring at him, "I don't know where you're from, but we don't treat omega's like that here. You want to say no? You fucking say it. You are to have a choice, if anyone, especially an alpha forces you into anything you tell me or Sam and we'll deal with them."
Gabriel watched him skeptically for a while, but eventually shrugged, "If you say so Dean-o. Now shoo, I want a bit more sleep."
~~~

It took awhile, but eventually Castiel was back on his feet. Dean was all too happy to show him around, granted Gabriel demanded to tag along. Really, he wasn't going to jump Castiel! What did he have to do to get that through the short dogs brain?

Thankfully showing the two brothers around went fairly smooth, until one of the other pack members got too nosy and was trying to question the two omega's.

Dean didn't want to be rude and snap at the guy, but when Castiel looked the least bit worried Dean released a warning growl with a snap of, "That's enough get to work." The male huffed but turned to go do so. He wasn't about to fight the pack alpha.

"Back to work?" Castiel asked Dean softly as he looked up at him.

Dean nodded, "Everyone in the pack has something they're to do during the day. Whether it's taking care of the livestock, or the crops, or it's just minding pups or watching the borders. Everyone pitches in some how. Ellen and Jo, and others like them, help out by keeping food at the ready for anyone when they're hungry."

Castiel gave a slight nod and looked to his brother, whispering to him which had Gabe nod then look to Dean. "So what's our job to be Dean-o?"

Dean shrugged, "Honestly? I don't know yet. I don't really know anything about either of you. I don't want to put you on border patrol if you can't fight for instance. But I don't want to put you on crops if you've never farmed a day in your life."

Gabe chuckled, "well uh, we've never done any of that." he muttered a bit towards the end.

Dean rose a brow, but couldn't help but ask, "So what have you done?"

This had Gabe frown, putting an arm around his brother as Cas hid his face against him. "Well, to be blunt? Laid on our backs for the alphas that demanded it."

Dean stared at him, "You're... you're kidding right?"

At the shake of Gabe's head Dean growled softly, "That's ridiculous. You shouldn't have been treated like broodmares! You're able to do things, hobbies, hell, if not actual jobs."

Gabe shrugged weakly, "Well your pack is very different from our own."

Dean only nodded sadly. "well, if you would like to try different jobs together you may, get a feel for the different things there's to do around here."

Gabe paused for a moment but soon smiled, "So, we're allowed to stay then?"

Dean nodded, "Yea. Even if you can't find something you're good at in the normal jobs, I'm sure we can find something for you to do."

Gabe gave another nod smiling as he gently pried Castiel from himself some, "Hear that little brother? It'll be okay now."

Castiel gave a weak smile nodding a bit. "Thank you." he whispered glancing over to Dean.

Dean grinned, "You're welcome."

It took a few more days for Castiel to get more comfortable moving around, but once that happened he and Gabriel started trying different things.

Gabriel first suggested they tried the 'farming thing' Dean had mentioned.

Dean and Sam both got a good laugh at Gabriel's complaining about the heat, and the sun, and the lack of shade. Really, it was obvious Gabriel had no intention to work outside.

Castiel had done better, but he ended up with a pretty nasty sunburn after just an hour or two out there.

Dean offered, and was granted permission to help Castiel out with his sunburn, applying aloe vera to the red skin on his arms, and neck. Thankfully his face didn't get burned too much since he at least wore the hat one of the other farmers had given him to use.

It was after the attempt of 'the farming thing', Dean couldn't help but laugh at the phrase and was amused by it enough to keep using it, that Sam decided to offer the suggestion that they help in the laundry room.

Castiel did well, but Gabriel whined about "Why fold something for someone to just take it and make a mess of it? Why not just pile them somewhere?"

Needless to say anything Castiel had gotten done Gabriel went so far as to undo the work. And Gabriel was pretty adamant on the two of them sticking together.

So after the failure in the laundry room, they tried kitchen work.

Once again Gabriel complained about the heat, and nearly burning himself on the 'hotter than setting your balls on fire and cartwheeling to Ohio' pot that had been on the stove to boil some water.

Castiel on the other hand actually made a really good casserole dish.

Dean groaned rubbing his forehead, "Gabe, I'm starting to really think that you don't really want to do any work."

Gabriel shrugged, hands up in a placating gesture. "Can't help it. Not use to it."

Sam snarked, "Figures, old dog can't learn any new tricks."

Dean bit his lip to keep from laughing as Gabriel turned snarling at the tall alpha.

Dean took a slow, deep breath, "Come on, stop. Gabe, you really need something to do to help out around here."

Gabriel tilted his head to a side, "I really don't see why, I don't see the need for me to contribute."

Dean rose a brow. "Excuse me?"

Gabriel blinked, "What part wasn't in English for you there alpha boy?"

Dean bit the inside of his cheek this time, to keep from smacking the omega. "Everyone does something to help. In return they're part of the pack, they have a place to call home, and they're even fed."

Gabriel shrugged, "So let me hunt? I bet you eat real meat, right? I was a good hunter for the last pack when they let me join the hunting parties."

Dean rose a brow, "and you want Cas, to go hunting with you?"

Gabriel snorted, "Hell no." He sighed, leaning back in his chair to stare at the ceiling. "Cassie's always been more the 'maternal' type of omega. Some argue I'm not really one with how I like to hunt and things." Gabe shrugged then looking to Dean frowning. "I really do want to be able to do something and stay with him... But if you can promise me, he'll be safe, and protected, then I'll hunt, and he can play house here cooking and cleaning, the weirdo enjoys it anyhow."

Dean watched Gabriel for a few moments before he sighed, "Yea He'll be safe here. I won't let anything happen to him." Why would Dean let anything happen to the one he wanted as his mate? Exactly, Dean would make sure Castiel stayed safe.

It was the next day that Castiel was heading out to watch his brother off with the hunting party. Dean stood beside Castiel as Sam got the group ready for the hunt, laying down some ground rules.

Castiel and Dean stood there as the group headed out for the hunt, Dean was still surprised the very short-legged Gabriel could keep up with even Sam. Sam was taller than most corgi's.

Dean waited a little longer, before he turned and offered Castiel a smile, "With what jobs you did, which did you enjoy the most?"

Castiel turned to look up at him, he offered a faint smile, "I liked working in the kitchen, but taking care of laundry was all right as well, whichever you need me at most will be fine."

Dean chuckled, "Kitchen then, that had been an epic casserole." He chuckled, letting his arm go gently around Castiel as he led him back towards the den-house where some members who didn't have their own little homes lived together.

Castiel was released once they reached the kitchen and Dean watched as he set about getting things out to make something for lunch. Dean tilted his head as he sat down, watching him. "So, where did you learn to cook Cas?"

Castiel turned to look at him, blue eyes unblinking for a long while before he turned to his work, "My mother had taught me, before he was taken by the pack alpha." he answered gently. He didn't know what happened to Chuck once the pack alpha took him. Then with the attack on their pack, Cas had no idea if his mother was still alive. He hoped he got away.

Dean watched Castiel work for awhile, before he finally rose, "I'm going to be just outside, if you need anything give a holler, okay Cas?"

Dean was given a nod, so he left the kitchen, letting Cas work, and he went outside. He stretched rolling his shoulders a bit as he looked around. Sam and the others would be back from the hunt around lunch time, or dinner, depending how well their hunting was going. If it went well Sam usually liked to have a fresh kill as lunch, but if it was slow going, they'd bring back what little they had in the morning and have lunch back here.

Dean wandered around the house, cleaning up this and that, that got laid about from the coming and going of canines.

Dean couldn't help but let his mind wander as he cleaned up the yard. It's been a long time, since they've had new canines join the pack. Castiel and Gabriel were the first new comers since back when Charlie joined their pack years ago.

He was a little worried about how they came to be here. A pack attacked their old pack. Did he have to worry about someone trying to do that to them? Did he have to worry about his family and friends?

Dean sighed softly, rubbing his forehead as he flopped down onto the porch.

He wasn't sure if he should put extra patrol's out, or just keep their posts up around the 'village' of sorts they have here.

Either way, he was worried about this. Soon, as Sam was back, he was going to talk to him, see what he thought about all of this. It's been a while since Gabe and Cas have been here, and they hadn't talked about it yet, they'd been concerned over Castiel's recovery.

Dean was so lost in thought, that he jumped when a hand landed on his shoulder. His head snapped up and he noticed the surprised look on Castiel's face along with worry there.

"Oh, sorry Cas, didn't hear you coming."

Castiel slowly nodded, "I called for you, you didn't answer.. Lunch is ready, who will be joining us? I wasn't sure how many... So I made a lot.."

Dean smiled warmly nodding, "It varies, all depends on if the hunting party comes back or not."

It was then that he heard his brother's howl, the slight squeak to it since corgi's weren't necessarily built to howl.

Dean chuckled, "well, seems lunch for everyone then."

Dean stood, but when he heard more howl's, he realized the tone of his brother's hadn't been normal. Shit, what was going on?

Dean growled, "Cas, get inside, keep the door locked, okay?"

Castiel looked worried, but nodded going into the house, and Dean could see him watching from a window, he knew they were locked, so hopefully he'd be all right.

Dean ran down the path towards where he heard his brother's howl, there the hunting party was hurrying back. But there were other canines behind them.

Dean snarled, shifting forms, releasing a powerful howl, warning everyone of the trouble, omega's went to hide in their homes, and the beta's and other alphas came to help.

The hunting party made it to the entry way of their 'village' and the rest of the pack made a firm wall that didn't allow the other canines any closer.

One very tall doberman stopped, leering down at the shorter corgi with a sneer. "Well, well, aren't these a bunch of pretty mutts."

Dean snarled, showing his teeth as he lowered his head, ears folded back, "Get off our land, What are you doing here?"

The doberman licked his lips grinning after with a full show of teeth. "We're here for your omega's and any beta bitches worth breeding."

Dean snarled again, giving a warning snap as he moved forward, "Tough luck, you're not taking anyone from this pack."

The doberman laughed, teeth still showing as he lowered his head, grinning maliciously. "What will you do about it shrimpy?"

The doberman got a face full of Dean's teeth then as the small corgi body of his lunged forward, fast and on point.

The doberman flailed trying to get the little dog off of him, and when Dean was finally flung to a side half of the doberman's face was bloody as the taller dog snarled.

"You have signed your death warrant for your whole pack flea bag!" He snapped stalking forward as Dean was starting to get up.

But a loud howl, deep and strong made the doberman stop, his ears twitching back. He huffed, growling lowly glaring down at Dean. "You're lucky you little bitch." he snapped with distaste.

He turned barking sharply to the ones around him then started to move away.

They left the village and Dean grunted as he sat up. His green eyes searched out Sam, seeing him standing on three legs he moved over quickly, "Sam, what the hell happened?"

Sam groaned, "We were jumped when we were taking down a deer." He growled, "We lost it too." he snapped bitterly.

Dean frowned, "Who the hell was that?"

Sam sighed, "The doberman you fought with called himself Alastair. The others with him, we didn't get many names. But he snapped orders at a schipperke beta, he called her Meg. Beyond that I didn't get any names."

Dean groaned, but looked towards Gabriel, who seemed to be looking around nervously. "Gabe?"

Gabriel looked over to Dean, grumbling a bit before he sighed, "Yea, yea, that was who attacked our last pack.. I don't know if they followed us, or what.. but I'm sorry." He looked down, they would be kicked out now.

Dean sighed, "It's not your fault." He shook his head before he started trotting back for home still in corgi form since he didn't need to walk back home naked. He was just glad he hadn't been wearing his favorite shirt. He hadn't thought, just shifted and ran for his brother.

When they reached the house, Cas opened the door for them, Dean went in and straight to his room, Sam went to the side door where he had set clothes before leaving, where as Gabriel went into the bathroom where he had some laid out.

Castiel waited patiently to be informed on what was going on. Once everyone was dressed and at the table, Castiel went ahead and served lunch, some stew and fresh baked bread.

Castiel watched as they picked at the food, making him worried, did he make it wrong?

But Dean finally sighed, looking up, "That pack that attacked your old one Cas, is around here now. They attacked Sam and the other hunters."

Castiel froze, eyes widening slightly, as he started to shake his head, "no no no..." he pleaded softly.

Dean frowned, wishing he could do something to help him. "We'll protect you, along with your brother and everyone else of the pack. I'll call a meeting soon as we're done here and we'll figure out what to do."

Castiel gave a faint nod, looked at his brother, who avoided his gaze. Castiel didn't want to go back to the life of just being used when an alpha wanted him for that. He luckily hadn't had any pups yet, but he didn't want the choice to be forced upon him.

They ate silently, the food was really good and that was probably the only reason anyone bothered to stomach any of it.

After eating, Gabriel actually helped Castiel clean up from lunch as Sam and Dean went about getting a meeting called.

Soon as they had gone to see Ellen, to tell her about the meeting, she immediately scolded the two alphas and pulled Sam into a chair to wrap his arm. It wasn't bleeding, but it was swelled up, probably a sprained wrist.

Once everyone was in the meeting hall, Dean had to sit there, rubbing his temples as others argued and bickered over what to do.

The situation has been explained, and then the hall errupted with noise. Dean didn't think he could take much more. A hand touched his arm and he looked up, seeing Cas giving him a worried expression. Dean offered a faint smile before he stood.

Hands slapped down on the table and he growled, releasing a very loud, "ENOUGH!"

Thankfully, the hall went silent as all the pack members looked to him. He breathed a sigh, finally able to hear himself think again.

"I want to tell you all now, no, we're not going to move. No, we're not going to go after them." He growled, looking at his own father and Samuel, his mother's father, in particular.

"What we are going to do is be safe. We're going to protect our home. We'll put up more patrol. I'd rather have a fight here, on our own land that we know very well, then to take it to them. We have no idea what kind of pack they have, we don't know how many there are. We do know that if we stay put they'd have to come to us. There's only two ways into our village."

There were a few nods. Like he had to have that confirmed. He knew there were only two ways in since the place they called home was pretty much a valley of sorts.

There was the main entry, where the hunting party had came back to. It led to the woods where they did their hunting. They knew the other pack had access to the woods there, so they knew to be careful. To go the entire way around the valley was at least a day's travel. So depending on where the rest of their pack had been would decide if they needed to watch the rock pass.

Dean slowly sat down, no one arguing again thankfully. "We will set up more patrol's than usual, any one can sign up for a patrol. Even the omega's, but any omega's taking a patrol shift need to do so from the towers. This other pack wants the omegas, we will not allow you to endanger yourselves."

Gabriel tapped a pen on the table, Dean didn't know why he had a pen, before he stood. "Hate to break it to you buccko, but even staying 'safe' in the towers to 'patrol' would be pointless. If you're going to have omega's help, team them with someone else, or ya know, teach them how to fight."

Sam was the one who growled, "It's not an omega's place on the battle field."

Gabriel rolled his eyes, sitting back in his seat, and making a noisy show of slapping his feet up onto the table. "So make it our place. They won't expect it. And hell, I'm a damn good hunter, could fight too if I had the know how. I've only seen fights." he shrugged, looking to Sam and Dean, "You can't honestly tell me you want all your omega's defenseless, right?"

Dean groaned, a hand grabbing Sam by the shoulder as his brother still growled, he didn't want him attacking the mouthy omega. "He's got a point Sammy."

There were a few surprised gasps around the hall, but Dean shrugged. "Too long omega's are treated like they're weak and just good for pups and keeping house." He looked to his mother, smirking. "But my mom, who you all know is an omega, has even kept my dad in line at times." He looked to the others, "omega's are stronger than all of us really give them credit for. So shut your yaps, training for omegas will start in the morning. For tonight, I want every available beta around the entrances of home. If you hear anything, even if you think it's just a damn rabbit, you wake the closest alpha to where you are and have them check it out."

There were a few grumbles, but nods were given, so Dean stood again. "This meeting will be over for now. Dinner will be at my place, or the Roadhouse unless you wish to prepare your own dinner, that's up to you."

After dinner Dean was sitting in his living room, Castiel was actually beside him. They'd talked about this and that earlier during lunch, passing the time as others came and went for some food.

Dean watched the omega for a moment, before he cleared his throat, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Hey, Cas?" he started when the omega looked at him he continued, "I know, you came from a place that, alpha's didn't treat you that well.. And I know it might be idiotic of me to even be trying, but... I really do like you, and I was wondering if you'd like, to, I dunno, date for awhile? Work up to possibly being mates?"

It was the continued silence that had Dean fretting, "Well, I know it's not the best time.. but I can't get it off my mind.. But.. yea, sorry I'll just sh-"

Dean's ramble was cut off by soft lips pressing against his own. Dean blinked a few times as he was kissed, a little confused, but he pushed that back, not taking too long to gently put his arms around Cas and pull him close.

When Cas pulled away Dean blinked to find blue eyes watching him, and a smile on the omega's face. Dean's head tilted to a side a little bit as he watched him.

"Thank you for asking Dean, it, means a lot. No one's asked before, they just took." Cas still smiled gently, his hand moved to gently rest on Dean's cheek, cupping his face a bit. "I would like to be your mate. You're strong, and kind, and you took in me and my brother and have never asked for anything in return other than helping to earn our keep." He'd been impressed by the alpha never asking for any 'favors' or letting anyone else in the pack do so.

Dean couldn't stop the grin, "You'll be my mate, yea?" at the nod of confirmation from the omega, Dean wanted to whoop and holler. But he kept it held inside.

Castiel smiled still, before he slowly moved, "When would you like to properly be mates Dean?"

Dean blinked, his brain freezing for a moment. "Wait, like now?" he asked surprised. He didn't think Cas would want to jump right into it.

Castiel smiled gently, a bit shyly, "Well, yes now, if you would like?"

Dean stared up at Castiel, since he himself was still on the couch, and gaped rather fish like up at him. It took a moment before he got himself to ask, "Are you sure?"

Castiel smiled, eyes crinkling with mirth, "I am very sure alpha."

Dean couldn't stop himself then, he stood, practically scooping Cas into his arms as he carried him to his own bedroom.

-smut ensues-

Dean was curled protectively around his new mate, grinning as he looked down at the fresh bite mark on the side of Cas's neck. There for all to see. Only way someone wouldn't see it is if Cas wore a turtle neck, or something else with a high collar.

Dean leaned in gently nuzzling Cas as he still grinned, "You're perfect Cas."

Castiel chuckled softly, leaning back against Dean, "If you say so Dean." he was smiling gently, looking over his shoulder a bit to glance at Dean before he was laying back down sighing softly.

Dean smiled, enjoying the scent of content omega. The scent, of his mate.

---

Gabriel was headed to where they were to train, a field that was currently empty, it normally would hold some crops but they were already harvested for the year so it was empty.

Gabe spotted his brother and was making his way over to him. Before he said anything he noticed a new 'accessory' on his brother's neck that made him bristle. But before he could ask him what alpha claimed him, Dean and Sam were calling order to the omega's there for training.

There weren't a lot of omega's, just Cas, Gabe, Mary, Ben, Cassie, Andy, and Annie. Sam took Cas, Mary, Ben and Cassie with him to one end of the field to work with, leaving Dean to work with Gabe, Andy, and Annie.

Dean grinned lightly, hands on his hips as he looked at the three he was to work with, "One of the most important things to know about fighting, is to know which form to be in. You don't want to fight as a person against a dog for example, teeth can get your limbs too easily. But you also don't necessarily want to be a dog fighting a person either, because if they're wearing steel-toed boots those hurt like a bitch."

There were a few nods given before Dean moved, "While in a real fight, you might not have the time, but today I'm going to get you guys to stretch properly so you don't accidentally pull something with this just being training."

There were a few groans, but Dean led them through how to properly stretch, most of the omega's that were in their pack weren't use to doing much. Gabe was more fit since he was already a hunter, but Annie and Andy especially were quite flabby around the middle.

Once his group was stretched he grinned, "Gabe, come here, going to show you all something, and I know I won't hurt Gabe."

Gabriel gave him a skeptical look, but stepped over, eeping when Dean pulled him into a head lock. He squirmed, proving Dean's point as he spoke.

"This is a head lock, not much can be done by the other if you have them in one. But there are way's to escape.. Gabe hold still for a damn second."

What Dean didn't know was Gabe caught his scent, and he knew what the hell it meant. This asshat mated his brother, forced him to his bed, made him bare his neck! He started growling as he squirmed and Dean, confused, just let Gabe go.

So, Gabe quickly came around and punched Dean in the face, hitting near his eye, and before Dean could react his other fist was coming up from the other side and got him around his nose, thankfully missing the nose directly but blood still dripped from it.

Before Gabe could pull back to attack again Dean had him pinned to the ground growling lowly as he glared at him.

"What the fuck Gabe!?"

By now, Sam's group had noticed and came over, all surprised by the fight, and Cas moved closer frowning, "Gabe?"

Gabriel growled lowly, squirming but with Dean's weight atop him he couldn't move. So he snarled glaring up at him, "What? Going to force me to bare my neck now too, you asshole??"

Dean blinked, nearly reeling back. "What? No!" Dean spoke as he scrambled off Gabe confused and not sure why he was accused of that.

Gabriel snarled, soon on his feet, towering over Dean who was still on the ground, "So what? Only Cassie is good enough to force!?"

Gasps were heard from those gathered and Sam looked at Cas, he had seen the mark, but Dean didn't force him, did he?

Castiel moved quickly when he saw Gabe going to swing at Dean again, and grabbed his arm with both his hands, "Gabe, wait! I allowed him! I wanted him to be my mate!"

Gabriel froze, looking at Cas with shock on his features.. "Excuse, me... WHAT!?"

Castiel flinched back from the shout, but frowned. "Gabe, he asked me, I accepted. He even wanted to date me first, but I asked to do it last night."

Gabriel frowned, shaking his head, "no no no no, little brother.." he whined softly. "You're not suppose to be mated.. ever."

Castiel frowned, "Why not?"

Gabriel frowned, "What if we loose? What if that pack takes us all? Mated you're no good to them! Your body will only accept your alpha's pups now! You.. You'll.. They'll just kill you Cassie..."

Castiel frowned, "Is that why you're worried? Dean won't let that happen. We won't either, it's why we're out here learning to fight, remember?"

Gabriel frowned, shaking his head, "I don't like this Cassie. I just don't."

"I'd be worried if you did like this." Castiel said with a sigh. "You've always been against mates, and I understand why. But, Dean has taken care of us, and never expected anything of us in return that he didn't expect from anyone else."

Gabriel huffed, "So?"

"So, he's a good alpha Gabe. Nothing like our old pack." Castiel insisted gently.

Gabriel huffed growling lowly. "Fine, but when he gets you killed over this I'm ripping his balls off and shoving them down his own damn throat." He snapped.

Castiel put his hands up. "okay, if." He knew Dean wouldn't let anything happen to him.

Sam watched with a worried eye, before he spoke, "I'll take Gabe, and let Mary work with you." He knew the two omega's could use a little time to talk, and he knew if Dean had Cas he would take it easy on him, and for the training to be useful they couldn't have that.

---

After the morning of training Dean flopped onto the couch around lunch time. Gabriel had released a few more threats about the removal of his balls. He didn't think he deserved them, he wouldn't let Castiel fall into harm's way. Not if he could really help it anyhow.

Dean lifted his head a bit from the back of the couch when Castiel entered the room, offering him a soft smile before he too pretty much collapsed onto the couch atop of Dean.

Dean chuckled, hands moving around Castiel. He frowned though at the wince and he pulled his hands away, "You okay?"

Castiel nodded, "Yes, Gabe was still a bit upset and when Sam was teaching us how to use someone's weight against them he didn't hold back and I hit the ground pretty hard."

Dean started to growl but Castiel placed his fingers over Dean's lips.

"Shush Dean, Sam scolded him and had him run laps, remember?"

Dean huffed, "Yes, I remember Gabriel whining how it was an accident, but I hadn't known why he'd been running.. Did you ice it?"

Castiel smiled gently, "Not yet, I didn't want to bother, it's not swollen it just hurts."

Dean frowned, "c'mon, up."

When Castiel didn't move Dean grunted flailing a little to get up and slide out from under Castiel letting his mate slip to the couch.

Dean went to the kitchen, getting to the freezer he got out an ice pack, then grabbed a towel from by the sink, wrapped the fluffy towel around the ice pack then returned to his mate. "Come on, off with your shirt."

Castiel chuckled, "Frisky are we?" he teased, but he moved to do as requested, taking his shirt off.

When it was finally off Dean frowned at the bruise on his side, also a little bit of his back, thankfully not on his shoulder, but it was low and a little bit on his hip. "Damn, Gabriel really should have done more than run laps." he grumbled as he moved gently setting the ice pack down on the darkest spot. "Stay put I'll get another."

Castiel hummed a bit in acknowledgement.

Dean left him on the couch, getting another towel and another ice pack, wrapping it in the towel again and returned, gently setting the pack next to the other on the large bruise. Dean frowned, wishing he could do more. He moved seeing Castiel laying his head on his arm, he leaned down, hand brushing through his mate's dark locks.

Dean smiled seeing he was asleep, so he left him to rest for a little bit. He went back to the kitchen, while he wasn't a great cook, he made one thing better than just about anyone.

Dean made burgers, a whole pile of them, sitting on a plate that he set on the table so if anyone came in wanting any they could get one. He set a cover over them and then took two he prepared on buns for himself and his mate Cas out to the living room.

He set the plates down and gently lifted the ice packs, checking to find the little swelling from the bruising went down, even though the packs were still slightly frozen he took them back to the kitchen and put them back in the freezer, the towels set beside the fridge on the counter. He then returned to the living room once more, and gently brushed his fingers through his mates' hair. "Come on Cas, wake up, food is ready."

Castiel made a soft noise, sounded a bit like a grunt mix with a whine, before he was moving to sit up rubbing at his face a little.

Dean grinned, and moved, picking up both plates then sat beside Cas once he was sitting up and offered him one of the plates.

Castiel smiled, "Thank you, did, you make this?" he asked softly looking at Dean with a bit of surprise.

Dean grinned, "Yep, I can make a pretty mean burger." He grinned before he was taking a bite out of his own.

Castiel ended up agreeing with him and packed away another one after the first.

A few of the pack had come and gone for food, and after they went more showed up, everyone liked Dean's burgers and when he made them just about every body wanted one.

Once the food was gone Dean cleaned up what needed to cleaned up from the meal, then he was gently pulling Cas toward the bedroom. "Take a nap Cas, there isn't more training until tomorrow."

Castiel sighed, but nodded, "Very well Dean. But who will make dinner?"

Dean chuckled softly, "Don't worry about that Cas, someone will make it."

Castiel nodded before he went into the room, Dean lingered in the door long enough to see Cas get into the bed. Dean frowned at the slow movements and he could tell when Cas tensed from the pain before relaxing again.

Dean closed the door gently before heading down the hall. He was going to give Gabriel a piece of his damn mind.

Only, when he found Gabe, actually working in the kitchen with Ellen, whining the whole time, he felt Ellen did enough. That and Gabriel had a pretty prominent hand print on the side of his face.

Go Ellen.

Dean watched Gabriel grumble about what he had to do, which was peeling potatoes.

Every time he complained he could see Ellen adding another potato for him to peel into the basket, but Gabriel either wasn't noticing or didn't care enough to stop his whining.

Dean moved sitting down and Ellen turned on him with a scowl.

Dean tensed, wondering what he did when she brought an ice pack over to him in a towel. His brows furrowed and Ellen pointed to her own eye.

Oh right, Gabe had decked him a couple of times.

He gingerly put the ice pack against his eye, the punch near his nose didn't hurt near as much.

"Soooo," Dean started, "what's for dinner?"

Ellen grinned, "Since Gabe here so nicely volunteered to peel potatoes, we're having baked ham."

"Nice." Dean chuckled softly, he knew the potatoes were used to draw salt from the ham so it wasn't like biting a salt brick.

Gabriel turned to look at Dean now that he knew he was in there, he huffed, made a face but then turned back to peeling the potatoes, but silently this time.

Dean wasn't sure if that was Gabriel's way of saying he was sorry, or if the omega was still very pissed at him and was just keeping from punching him again.

Dean watched Gabriel's back side for a moment, before he finally spoke,"I would like an apology."

Gabriel sighed, but didn't turn towards him, "Oh Dean, don't you know we don't always get what we want?" Gabriel then bent over a bit to lean towards the bucket on the floor where he was letting the peels drop, making a show of finishing off the current potato to chuck it into the other bucket with water and a few other potatoes.

Dean snorted huffing as he growled lowly, "You've some nerve."

"Thank you." Gabriel snarked.

Dean growled lowly but a cuff from Ellen had him shutting up.

He stayed quiet as he watched Ellen walk over to Gabriel, she leaned in and spoke quietly to him.

When she pulled away, brow raised Dean watched Gabriel gulp and then turned more, "Uh, Sorry Dean-o. I didn't really mean to punch you for mating my brother. I punched you because I thought you had forced him."

Dean blinked, surprised, looking to Ellen in shock, wondering what she said to him. "Yea, it's fine Gabe..."

Gabriel gave a faint nod, then turned back to peeling potatoes.

The dinner was excellent that evening, and there were plenty of potatoes to go around.

Dean would be surprised if there were any potatoes left to be quite honest.

Dean was sitting at the table in the hall, where they decided to have dinner, along with a meeting. Just general stuff, and then notes of anything seen around the village, or even just heard.

Nothing.

Which was worrisome. Not a sound had been heard in the woods around their home. Something had to be out there keeping things away, right? But no one saw anything either. It was just an eerie calm.

Dean didn't like it.

Sam looked over to his brother, finishing his bite before speaking, "We need to keep everyone together. I have a bad feeling that they're out there just waiting, and it makes me nervous."

Dean nodded looking over the group of people who have hushed their conversations to listen. "Yes, you're right, We can all go down to the estate if you think it'd be safer there."

The estate, was a large building that was pretty much a mansion, that was used back in the days of Henry as pack alpha. His father John had moved out of it when he was young tired of the old building.

"It does need work, but it would do, right?" Dean asked looking to Sam.

Sam nodded, "Yea, and everyone together would keep us from loosing anyone slowly. I have a feeling they're waiting to catch a couple of us off guard to take us out, to whittle down our numbers."

Dean nodded, looking to those in the hall, which was the entire pack, really if this place wasn't just a room with tables they could easily just stay here together.

"Does anyone object to moving to the estate for the time being?"

Silence.

Dean nodded, "Tomorrow we will prepare for the move, pack only what you need. If needed we'll send groups back later for other things, but supplies are a necessity to take first."

Nods were given and then the hall slowly settled back into gentle conversation over their meal.

---

The remainder of the evening was spent getting supplies packed to travel. First food supplies, they didn't want to have to come back for just food if it was needed, and being at the estate, they wouldn't be watching their supply house as well, since it was farther away.

Cars, trucks, vans, and even a buggy, was loaded up with boxes upon boxes of supplies. A few bags were put in as well. By time everything was packed up, it was well crawling towards midnight, but no one felt safe, and that bothered Dean. He wanted his pack to feel safe.

So everyone worked on getting moved.

It was in the early light of morning that they were all pulling into the estate's long drive. Vehicle after vehicle in a long line. The buggy came up in the rear.

Dean got out of his impala, looking up at the old building with a frown. "well, it's at least still standing." he mused looking over it. Some windows were broken, and some of the siding needed replaced, but over all the building still stood firm. Probably because the base of it was actually brick. The siding had been added later on to cover the brick, he wasn't sure who had done it, but someone thought it was a good idea.

Dean came around the car in time to help his mate out of the car. Cas looked up at the place and he turned to Dean with a smile, making Dean tilt his head in question.

"It's great Dean. Everyone can be together. It'll need some work, like you said in the hall, but I think it will be a good thing."

Dean smiled, giving a nod, "Yea Cas. Come on, let's get working on getting inside."

Dean had Sam supervise inside, to instruct where things went, and Dean instructed outside, helping move things about when needed. He also walked down the long drive to lock up the gate so no one could just stroll in.

By time everything was into the estate, it was near noon. Everyone was exhausted, so simple sandwiches were had, then everyone went about finding a room for some rest.

Dean and Castiel were given the master bedroom, it was larger than all the others, and Dean tried to tell Sam to take it, or even his parents, but everyone argued 'he was the pack alpha he should take it'.

So, reluctantly, he took the room to share with Cas. They shook off the covers of the bed, patted it down to get the dust off it, then put the clean covers they brought from 'home' onto it. Dean sank into it with a groan, "Oh god Memory foam."

Castiel chuckled softly, "Didn't you like your old bed?"

Dean chuckled, "Yea, but this one will remember me."

Castiel only smiled and shook his head as he moved to lay down beside his mate with a sigh.

---

It wasn't until the next day that anyone really did anything other than eat and sleep.

Dean was stretching on his way down the porch steps when he heard hollering. He frowned, but ventured his way over.

There was Sam getting a plank of wood dragged off him by Benny and the old alpha Henry.

Dean hurried over, "What happened?"

Sam huffed, "Rufus and John are working on the roof."

Dean looked up spotting them both looking down worried. "Okay, that doesn't explain what happened to you Sammy."

Sam groaned, "I was helping hand wood up with Henry and Benny also. Some of the planks fell, I'm fine Dean."

Dean frowned, looking Sam over even after he was finally standing.

"I still want you to go see Ellen, possibly ice where you were hit."

"Dean..."

"No Sam, better safe than sorry at this point. I'll help Benny and Henry hand the wood up, alright?"

Sam sighed, "Fine Dean." was snipped a bit, but the co-alpha usually did what Dean asked, since it was usually a reasonable request.

---

Hours later the group working on the roof headed in for lunch. Each sore and tired from the work, but they had made a lot of progress. Another morning of working out there and it would be finished.

Dean just finished slumping into a recliner when Gabe entered the room, hands on the omega's hips. Dean groaned looking up at the pissy expression. "What is it Gabe?"

"Where is Cassie?"

Dean rose a brow, "Last I saw him he was making breakfast. I've been outside working." He grunted, but pushed himself to his feet, instantly worried for his mate.

Dean went into 'find mate' mode, huffing, looking to Gabe, "Where have you looked?"

Gabe shrugged, "well, the kitchen." He didn't do much looking at all to be honest.

Dean huffed, but set out to find his mate.

He found him rather quickly.

Curled up by the toilet, throwing up whatever may have been in his stomach.

Dean whined and moved closer, gently rubbing his mates back after he knelt beside him. "What's wrong?"

Castiel sighed, shrugging weakly. "I don't know, I started getting things out to make lunch, and seeing the raw meat and starting to work with it, just made my stomach very unsettled."

Dean frowned as he moved leaning in to scent his mate a bit better, since his nose wasn't that great, Cas didn't smell sick. He wasn't sure what would have made him react like that.

"Was the meat bad?" Dean asked, wondering if that had been it.

Castiel shook his head, "It wasn't even brown from getting oxidized."

Dean blinked, "Oxi what now?"

Castiel smiled tiredly, "Oxidization is when something is... saturated with oxygen. Red meat will turn brown as it oxidizes.."

"Oh, right.. well.. if it wasn't bad.. You dont' smell sick." He frowned, worried for his mate.

Castiel shrugged, "Probably breakfast wasn't agreeing with me."

Dean nodded, gently rubbing his mates back. "If it happens again, will you see Ellen? She might have something that would help?"

Castiel nodded, "Yes, of course Dean."

Dean helped his mate to his feet, leaving him to wash his face and brush his teeth after flushing. Dean hovered by the doorway, waiting on him.

Once finished the two of them headed to the den, where Gabe still waited.

"There you are Cassie!" Gabe practically pounced on his brother, grinning. "Didn't see you in the kitchen, so I set Dean to look for you, when's lunch little brother?"

Castiel smiled apologetically, "Sorry Gabe, I felt unwell and didn't even really get started."

Jo huffed from the door, surprising them all, "Yea noticed. Foods in the oven it'll be done in about thirty more minutes."

Gabe grinned, "You, I like you."

Jo laughed shaking her head, "Right, sure you do." She walked over gently patting Castiel's back. "We appreciate you willing to do all the cooking, but others know how to as well, just let us know and someone else will step in, all right?"

Castiel blushed a little, but he nodded. "O-of course. Sorry I didn't think to say anything.."

Jo grinned, "Don't sweat it blue eyes."

Dean huffed a warning sound and Jo only rolled her eyes waving over her shoulder as she turned and left the room.
