The dark waters rushed up on the gray sand beach, the area silent and still apart from this constant ebb and flow. Although dark and cold, the area seemed oddly peaceful and untouched. That is until there came a sound of someone's boots walking through the sand. Approaching it was a tall brown-haired man wearing a red vest over a white long-sleeved admiral's shirt, a black cloak covering nearly his entire right arm which he left limp at his side. As he approached the shore, he removed his left hand from the sword on his right hip. He stopped at the water's edge. "Is this it?" He stared out at the vast ocean of darkness in front of him. "After all this time wandering the darkness..." He began to move his foot to turn around when he noticed something white in the water that had just rolled in. He walked forward slowly, bending down and grasping what it was. Although it seemed like a normal pair of white ribbons, he recognized them almost immediately. "Julia? This is your..." His hand closed tightly on the ribbons, his blue eyes narrowing. As he kept his eyes on the ribbons, he felt a light appear at the edge of his vision. When he looked up, he saw a rectangular light appearing in the air in front of the shore, almost like a door. The man slipped the ribbons into his vest before walking forward. "A promise should never be broken," he said aloud as he entered the light. |
