"Not just you. And not just her. Or perhaps him, one might say."

Glaive left her hiding place. She had ducked into the little alcove when she heard other ponies coming and cloaked her presence as well as she had been able. That arrogant angel might have known otherwise still, with his - her - augmentations, but if those three had suffered the same fate as Glaive, there wasn't really any need to hide it.

"Denton, Arael, Amber. Good to see you all, even in such strange circumstances."

"Silence mortal!" Arael snapped at Amber with a glare "In case you haven't noticed, we're just as confused as you! So either say something to work towards fixing the problem, or shut your trap and don't make threats that you can't follow up on!" he turned away, annoyed at the entire situation. It was obvious tht her no nonsense attitude remained.

He was about to answer Denton when she saw a familiarly colored pony come from around the corner. "Oh, Glive. Not you too..." he facehoofed t the realization that the problem was bigger than first anticipated.

Denton, rolling her eyes at Amber's outburst... even though she had done the same thing monents before. She let Arael do the talking, even as her sensor-impplants picked up a pony hiding from them, the aura of which Denton recognized, and she groaned.

"Likewise, Shining Glaive." She grumbled in response. "Have you been inflicted with this... problem in amidst investigating it, or did you ingest on one of the nights all you ponies call "Fun Nights out on the town", or are you also a fan of flying into purple clouds like your fellow mortal, here?" She asked her, mostly serious.

"Mortal, Mortal, Mortal, GAAH!" - Amberine bursted with anger. - "One more word like that and I'll show YOU how MORTAL your pathetic bodies are, ssssofthides!" - the piercing, now raw pink eyes locked on Arael's made her intimidation shouted right to his nose even sillier.

Her body has changed. Upon sudden turning to the direction of white angel she felt something is... missing... from under her tail, which made her even more pissed off. His words seemed to be true...

...but one thing remained the same. With heat rising in her throat the heart hastened. Black blood pounding in her veins, fed by the anger it was propelling together with his taunt...

Something's not right, and it's not only my weird body... those two insolent weaklings, which called me Mortal... my blood is reacting fiercely to their presence...!

"Glaive. Shining. Glaive. Miss Shining Glaive!?" - she intoned and shouted without happiness, examining her body, as her eyes changed to snow white. - "Welcome to the Mad Side of Life. Long time not seen, um... actually, under THIS coat, never... and you're popping in the weird times. I hope you'll be more useful than those two oddlings and at least got a clue of what's happening?"

"I'm always popping in at weird times, ponies tell me. Anyways, this current state of events. I don't know where it came from, but I do know what caused it. Some prankster has infected the water supply with refined Poison Joke, and it's inverted the physical sex of most of the town. Though...you said that a "purple cloud" did this to you? How peculiar..."

If the Poison Joke was airborne as well, it might not have been an intentional effect. After all, both the water and the wind flowed down to Ponyville from Canterlot, so a mishap on a large enough scale could cause this sort of thing to happen...

Arael ignored Amber and kept his attention on Glaive. "So it's as I suspected, it did originate from Canterlot." he said. "In that case, you should definitely go and investigate, Denton. As 'pretty' as you are, this is no state for an angel to be in. Find the mortals responsible and be sure that they're held accountable. WITHOUT violence, if you please." he emphasized the word for Denton, he knew how she operated sometimes. "If there's any punishment to be had, let the mortal courts decide it."

"Poisssson Joke, you say..? Well, when I finally find out who's responsible for this madness, the poison will not be a joke... " - Amberine stepped before the white angel, her eyes changing into deep orange.

"But isn't there supposed to be an easy to mix, compared to another remedies of this potency, of course, kind of potion or... something to get rid of this evil plant's effects? I've been reading about it but a few days ago, but I haven't finished it yet... I've still got that book in my house, I'm almost sure we can even find the recipe... at least for the cure of its basic kind."

The question is... if it will work with that "refined" version Glaive mentioned before...

"Anyway, if we're about to act against that poison, not only talk like poisoned..." - she pointed the white angel with her head, her eyes changing to blood red. - "...we have to begin somewhere, and it better be NOW."

Denton groaned again, averting Arael's gaze as she blushed again. "Pretty isn't the word I'd use." She grumbled. The auged angel snorted at Arael's last advisory. "I won't make any promises. If provoked, I'll use force. The mortal courts don't seem to be capable of much, from what I've seen. I guess I'll be going it naked and alone if none of you are willing to join. Typical. Just like the last time I was in Equestria." She looked back at Amberine, snorting again.

"Make yourself useful, miss technicolor eyes, and go get this potion, why don't you? Instead of bad-mouthing a Holy Centurion and an Archangel. Maybe it'll score you some points." She snapped.

Glaive laughed out loud. She just couldn't help it. Denton and Amber seemed to be taking it even worse than Glaive herself had.

"It's true, Denton, you're pretty much gorgeous now! Hah! This might be the funniest thing I've seen in months!"

Still chuckling, Glaive trotted up to Arael. The Centurion had gotten a fair bit larger with his change. Strange. Circle and I stayed more or less the same size. She leaned close and spoke quietly.

"These two seem to be taking it pretty poorly...maybe we should keep an eye or four on them. I don't trust Denton to not be too harsh, and Amber is...kind of crazy."

"I HEAR YOU, GLAIVE" - Amberine bursted suddenly. - "AND I'M COOL AS DA MONK! And you don't want me to get crazy... " - she lowered her voice, approaching Glaive.

In fact, Amber had keen eyes, but even better ears. He was not only used to fighting in darkness, where eyes are not your best friends... he was truly loving fighting in darkness. And, in the far past, he passed the special course of fighting without use of eyes with best score in Inevra's Claw - his hometribe - in whole its short history.

Not many warriors are using all of their senses to fight. And that's why they can't beat Me.

"Archangel? Holy Centurion? Pff, nice names. You're tha circus troupe? Or folk band?" - she gave a silent, impolite laugh, as her eyes changed to electric blue.

"Nevermind these oddtongues, I'm wasting my time here. Glaive, I'm going to do some research on that bookie I've mentioned before. Find me in Stronghold when you need me. Or get the cure. Or if you need the place for your own research, the main room is big enough and I'll be honored to be able to help you. Hope you remember the place?" - she turned around, her black coat almost slipped from her slender body as she set her hooves to the Stronghold.

Arael let out a "hmph!" and turned away "Glaive, maybe you can inform your friend here, who exactly it is she's addressing. I need to go back and make sure everything isn't falling apart in the estate. Denton, contact me as soon as anything turns up, will you?" With that he flapped her wings open and took to the sky, heading back to the estate to hold down everyone's sanity.

"Arael, wait, I...aaand she's gone. Great."

Glaive gave the other two mares with her a sideways glance. This just wasn't likely to be fun at all.

"Okay then. You two, just calm down. Poison Joke isn't a serious affliction...it can be cured by Zebrican magic pretty easily, and even if not, it'll wear off on it's own anyways. Uh. Amber, they really are genuine angels, sent here from Elysium because...well, hell if I know. And Denton, don't discount Amber - he's a skilled fighter himself. Enough that the outcome of a fight between him and me would not be certain. Er. She's a skilled fighter herself, and between her and me, I suppose."

"Elysium? A cheap name for a sect..." - she hissed, her eyes changing to deep purple. - "Now seriously. I don't care, let them be genuine angels or genuine pigs, they can be even Gods or Devils, dragons or lil'sweet hares. If they insult or piss me off, their limbs'gonna roll. With no exceptions... "

That last words sounded especially ominous. And especially... unnatural...

"Anyway. There's no time for this silliness, Glaive. I'm setting off to Stronghold. Hope you remember the way? Check on me later."

Giving the last graze of pure green, telling the angel to better stay out of her way, Amber raised her wings and... begun to run.

Unbalanced wings... the hay! At least they are not an inch smaller, so my Okamis are still suiting... but just look at those! Soft feathers!? How am I supposed to cut anything with those!? Ugh, my hooves will have to suffice...

Denton rolled his eyes provocatively as Amber threatened him, and then watched as the pegasus ran off. "I imagine in a fight with you, he'd end up on the ground, choking on knives within the first few minutes. I'm thoroughly unimpressed." She turned back to look at Glaive directly. "I expect to be back within the day. I'm simply wondering whether you'll be babysitting me, like you so kindly suggested, or that blasphemous, clumsy, occularly-multichrome, demon-blooded, disrespectful slive." She hissed contemptuously, her mithril wings flaring up as she quickly climbed into the sky.
