Amethyst finally arrived in Ponyville. The lush and vibrant hills of the rural town was quite the change from the big city of Manehattan. She trotted out of the train station, a single suitcase in hand as she went down the road to the center of town.

She looked around happily, all these new sights were so fascinating to the city mare. Amethyst turned a corner and saw a very dark palette pony tugging a cart along. This surprised Amy, he was very different from all the colorful things around her, it then occurred to her she had no clue where she was going. She figured to ask the dark stallion, and approached Amber with a bright smile.

"Afternoon sir. It wouldn't trouble you if I ask for directions now would it?"

Rapted in his thoughts Amber Moon was dragging his today especially heavy cart. The sound station itself was not as light as it was looking for, and the "Metal-Fan-Like-Thingie-That-Evilcorn-Holds-In-Her-Library-For-Unknown-Reason" was not really helping him carry it through the afternoon's streets of Ponyville... but he knew noone else that actually has his or her own Anenometer...

How am I supposed to do it, hmm... with first, second or third lap it shouldn't be a problem, I'll just do multiple runs... flights... with the Dynamo, hmm, shouldn't be any problem too, but for Blast? How the hell am I supposed to measure the Blast power by myself? Hmm, maybe if I turn it right, I could... hmm, bounce off the flight line heeereee and heeree... or just do some fallen U-turn, and point her some directions, no trouble in that, missy.... hey wait, what?

"Um...?" - Amber turned his head, still full of flight pathes and plans, to the... gray, unknown mare. Hmm, a tourist? I've never seen any in Ponyville...- "Absolutely not, ma'am, what's the problem?" - he asked, trying to get rid of the schemes still laying in his head heavily.

"Oh it's no real problem. I just needed to be put in the direction of somewhere I can stay..." Amy trailed off, the fact that she had no money to put up to even stay at some hotel had just donned onto her. "Actually... More like the direction of an odd job, I spent most of my bits coming here..."

"Hmmm... pilgrim, tourist or traveler?" - he asked with smile. - "Ponyville is not the most popular place among any of them. I'm not even sure if we've got a hotel here... but if you're interested in earning some extra bits... hmm..."

Amber examined the mare. She seemed to be potent and work-hardened. A rare feat among mares.

"...the one thing you should know about Ponyville is that there's always something to be done in here. Especially if you consider yourself... strong... and fear no encumbraces, especially physical. You can always check out the board by the Town's Hall, all main road leads there... and if you're up for some bucking... apple bucking, you should visit the Equestria-wide known Sweet Apple Acres. They always have some delayed farm work, though they prefer to do it themselves - but every little bit counts, so every work is good as long as it Is, right?"

Amber grazed the grey mare once more. Maybe...

"Actually... " - he took a look at his cart and the towel-covered shape exceeding its height. - "...your occasion for earning some bits might be closer than you think."

"Really now?" Amy came closer to Amber, excited she was already had a job fifteen minutes after arriving.

"What do I gotta do?"

"If you've got some free time right now... eh. I'd appreciate a helping hoof. Come with me."

Giving a strong pull Amber moved his cart.

"It turns out that I might need assistance in measuring a few things. Nothing really difficult, nor hard, just... eh... let's say I was hoping this whole Anemo-something was something smaller and lighter and I will be able to carry it without serious burden... and I was wrong. Now you see, miss... um... right, may I ask you for your name?"

"I'm Amethyst Shine, you can just call me Amy though." She trotted along next to Amber, curiously looking at the anemo-doo hickey. "You want some help pulling that?"

Amber gave a solid laugh.

"Oh, Lady! What a scar to the honour of this stallion would letting a Lady pull his burden be! Thank you, but I just need someone to note down what this amino-me-nome... daira... this Thingie says. Care to earn a few bits this way?" - he smiled, tilting his head to her.

"I didn't mean it like that.. I'm sorry." Amethyst said. She shied away from Amber, feeling she really did insult him as they continued to their destination. "Yeah, I can do that. It doesn't seem to hard to do... And I think this thing is called an anemometer."

"Anomaliometer, good enough for me." - Amber tried to repeat, smiling in unawarenss of his failure. - "To the testing track, then, it's not far from here..."

Amber pulled his cart, accelerating his trot a bit.

"So, miss Amethyst, tell me, what brought you to Ponyville!"

Amy trotted faster to keep in pace with Amber. Then Amber asked the typical tourist question; Why'd you come here? She knew why, but she couldn't come to terms with it yet, not yet.

"I just needed to get out of Manehattan, see the rest of Equestria. You know what I mean right?"

Amber smiled.

"Yes, I know exactly what do you mean... good thing you've chosen Ponyville and not Phillydelphia. Miss, let me tell you, in whole of my life I've never seen so weak stallions and such uneven mares. And I've seen alot."

After a moment, he bursted with question:

"How is Manehattan really? I've been there only for a couple of hours..."

"Oh believe me, I've heard stories about Phillydelphia. I'm not setting foot in there, even if I do have a death wish." Amethyst let out a happy laugh, actually being able to have fun for a change was great.

"Well...I can't really do Manehattan justice, since I've lived there my whole life. But, the tourists out there seem to love it, so it can't be that bad, right?"

"Ha ha, for sure."

Yay, finally somepony who's not obsessed with that whole Big-Citey-Of-Philly-Is-So-Good mania.

"Ponyville here is quite... different. Most ponies knows each other. You can try to negotiate better prices in Marketplace, it's usual. It's a small town. And unlike the cities, ponies really cares about each other. If you go to park crying, I'm 120% sure somepony will come to cheer you up, just like that. And if not, it only means he's on his way to prepare some picnic for you. Crazy care."

"Wow," Amy started as she continued to follow Amber to the training grounds. "That's really different from the city. If you go crying on the street ponies just kick you around, treat you like dirt..." She trailed off, thoughts of what was returning. Amethyst shook her head, tossing the negativity out of her head.

"So, what are you doing with this anemometer?"
