Bladeborn watched him yet again create perfect arrows, and he squinted before Wave dispelled them.
"I see...Than it works exactly like the rudimentary bows of old...If thats the case.." Bladeborn straightened himself again and brought the bow up and this time took time to create an arrow instead of pouring an immense amount of magic into it he focused on form.
He took a breath in as he pulled the string back and held it as he aimed. With a calm exhale he let his arrow fly. The missile flew straight and true towards the Target and the arrow buried itself just short of the smaller Bulls Eye ring of the Target.
"Horseapples." He added.

Wavelength nodded in approval, "Well you're getting closer at least," Wavelength said as he once again walked out to inspect the arrow Bladeborn had made. It was vastly improved from the last one he made, not quite perfect, but close enough to be effective on the battlefield. He didn't really expect much more out of him on his first few attempts, hell he didn't even expect what Bladeborn managed to pull off in the first place.
"You might have missed your calling Bladeborn," Wave said once he got back to the knight's side, "I'm very impressed by your first two shots. In fact," He said as he walked off to the far edge of the firing range to grab his own personal bow, "Why don't you try this one out. It's my personal bow I use for competition, my battle ready bow is a bit larger than this one, but this should be a good enough representation of what I use to train on a daily basis."
The bow was about as long as Bladeborn and was made of a special alloy that kept it extremely light despite its larger than normal size. At the tips there were diamonds instead of rubies, which was Wave's personal preference when it came to bows despite them not being the end all be all of magical enhancement. He liked them because they had the most storage out of any other gem, and that was what he valued most since the last time he overloaded a bow on the battlefield.

Bladeborn set the short bow down gently and gripped the Larger Bow in his Telekinesis and readied himself while testing its draw strength...It required much more power behind pulling it back. Bladeborn could practically feel the power this bow had.
Bladeborn took a few deep breaths as he readied the bow pulling back the string to the edge of his chin and holding it as the arrow formed. Magic Swirled around as it took form the larger size bow demanded a larger arrow and that's what he gave it. The entire arrow shined a bright gold as he lined up the shot and let it fly...The arrow smacking once again in the yellow just outside the bullseye.
"Seems I'm good at missing the center." He chuckled shaking his head. "But that bow is something."

"Yes," Wavelength said as he took the bow from Blade, "Its a bow that was made to hit a target from over a thousand yards away," he said with a chuckle, "If it wasn't something special I'd be rather disappointed."
Wavelength placed the bow on the ground, "You're pretty good at this, Sir," He said as he started walking away from the archery range, "However, I can't really be surprised by that. For a moment, I thought you wouldn't even be able to pull the string, but then I remembered that you're not just another brute with a sword trying to learn how to shoot. Bladecasting, if that's what you call it, now that is impressive. I'd ask to get a crash course, but I know that its not exactly something you learn in an afternoon."
"That," he said as he created a couple of projectiles in the air in front of him, an arrow, an artillery shell, and a pair of binoculars, "And I already know what I excel at." He said as the projectiles and the binoculars evaporated into the air.

Bladeborn followed along with Wavelength and studied the different forms of projectiles perking his eyebrow at the Binoculars.
"Unfortunately Bladecasting is a form of combat that takes years to just get a handle on...But, check this out." Bladeborn pressed some more weight then usual on his right hind-leg and a compartment on each side of his armor popped open with a smirk Bladeborn pulled out a pair of metal rings that seemed glossy and shinier then normal.
"Platinum-Iridium blade-rings." He stated "Razor sharp...And they carry whatever simple spell you imprint on them. An ideal short to mid-range weapon for a unicorn...Especially one with a bow. He floated them over to Wavelength smirking some.
"When you used the bow in Close range that one time we fought was a little pathetic...No offense, it just didn't seem to match. You can have these though." He paused "They're simple enough to use...you fling them and guide them using your magic need to be accurate too of course."

Wavelength grabbed the rings with his magic, "I've used something similar before," he said as he twirled them around himself with general ease, "Except they weren't ring shaped and felt a lot clunkier and had a lot more weight to them. Needless to say, I preferred the bow in close quarters just to smack people over the head with as opposed to using those."
He swung the blades in a wide arc, testing his grip as they got farther away, "However," he said as he brought the rings back to him so that they were floating in front of Bladeborn, "These are rather pleasant to use."
Wave remembered Blade saying that the rings could carry a simple spell on them. He imprinted an explosive spell on each of them and swung them in an wide arc at one of the training dummies. As soon as the rings hit, the dummy practically disappeared, leaving only a pile of straw where the stuffed form of a diamond dog once stood. "Impressive," He said as he brought the rings back to him, "I could definitely have some fun with this."
Wavelength strapped the rings onto his belt before looking over to a table on the far side of the yard, "As long as we're trading gifts," he said as he walked towards the table and grabbed the small crossbow that was sitting on it, "Its a magic crossbow, used making the same material as my competition bow with Sapphire bindings for the string."
He used his magic to strap the small crossbow onto Bladeborn's hoof, "The effective range is surprisingly large for something so small, up to about a hundred yards, about the same as the short bow. The special thing about it is that you can load it whenever you want and the bolt will sit there without you having to use any extra magic to keep the string tight."

Bladeborn rotated his hoof admiring the piece "Wow, that is pretty amazing. I didn't think they got this small, this will be immensely useful." He pulled the string back with his magic nodding. "Thank you, Wavelength."
He smiled some putting his hoof down. "Now I need to modify the armor to conceal this thing." He chuckled some.

Wavelength shrugged, "A bit of clothe should be enough to conceal it, but I don't see why you would need to keep it hidden unless you're looking to kill someone with stealth."
He chuckled a bit, "And I don't think that's ever going to happen if you wear all that armor like you usually do."
"But please be careful with it, its a prototype that I made with some of the research team and I've been looking for someone to test it out. I've already done some basic testing on it so you shouldn't have to worry about it firing, I just needed some pony to get it battle tested before we mass produce it."
