Trixie felt exhausted after the end of her travels yesterday, and her results shopping in the marketplace were half-baked. As she wandered away from the bustling city center, she spied a quaint soda shop off to the side.
"Trixie deserves a nice refreshment after her travels. Perhaps this shop will be adequate." she said, talking to herself. Trixie opened the shop door to the sound of a ringing bell.

As Trixie opened the door, she was immediately greeted by the sound of pans clanging against the floor coming from the kitchen. followed by a concerned and rapidly repeating "oh no" coming from the other side of the empty restaurant. As she backed up into sight, she continued to stare into the kitchen, as if watching something. Suddenly, her eyes widened, and she quickly shut the door, which immediately began to expel tons of bubbles into the front of the shop.
It was then she noticed Trixie standing there at the entrance. "Oh... heh... sorry you had to see that." she said, giggling nervously as she tried to ignore what had just happened. "Slight mishap in the kitchen... but anyway, welcome to the one and only Fizzy Pop Soda Shop! Can I interest you in anything?" she asked enthusiastically.

Trixie raised an eyebrow to the odd activities. "A slight mishap? What in Celestia's name is going on back there?"
She thought for a moment, and shook her head, raising a hoof before Fizzy could speak. "Nevermind, Trixie does not wish to know. What Trixie does want to know is if she will be able to purchase some orange soda from here." she tried to say with enthusiasm. "If there is a problem in the kitchen, Trixie can come back later."

(It's Fizzy, not Snowball.)
"Oh no, no, it's fine!" the unicorn said quickly, before a second loud clang from the kitchen caused her to wince. "I just... lost control of a bubble is all. It doesn't happen normally though, maybe twice a year? Ah, anyway, orange soda? Sure thing." she said, turning to the cooler, opening it, and pulling out a glass bottle with an orange label on it. "Here you go!" she said, smiling as she set it down on the counter in front of the periwinkle unicorn.

Trixie took out her coin purse and gave Fizzy the appropriate amount of bits for the drink, and levitated the bottle closer to her. She popped the cap open and took a small sip. Trixie's mouth began to form a smile and her eyes were filled with glee.
"Trixie finds this drink to be very tasty, she hasn't had a soda this good in a long time. Thank you, er, Fizzy was it?" she said before taking another sip. "Mmmm... if Trixie may ask, is there some sort of special ingredient or procedure that goes into the makings of your delightful soda?"
Although she was very pleased with the soda, Trixie noticed that something was a tad off with the mare's eyes. She watched them closely as Fizzy spoke.

Fizzy frowned, thinking to herself for a moment. "Not really." she replied. "I just take the ingredients... then pour them all together... shake it a lot to get it all mixed... add water, and watch the bubbles fly out! It's really fun to watch it all fizz out like a miniature carbonated volcano!" she answered, her horn glowing as she brought out a bottle of cream soda for herself.
With a bit of effort, she popped the metal cap off the glass bottle, swirling it a bit more before she brought it up to her lips and drank.

"Cream soda is a choice Trixie admires, although she was in the mood for a bit of a tangy flavor this morning. She also admires your modesty, Trixie knows the importance of keeping secrets out of the competition's hooves." Trixie smiled and took another sip. "Do you work here by yourself? If so, how long have you been in business for? Trixie would think ponies would enjoy your sodas immensely and flood into here, but she sees herself as the only one."
Trixie still followed Fizzy's odd eyes.

"About... five years? Yes... that's about right." Fizzy replied, nodding to herself. "And while I do normally get a steady flow of customers who come to this shop, most of my income comes from selling my soda over at Sugarcube corner closer to the business district. They're a much more established sweetshop, with a loyal customer base, so they really do get to enjoy my soda. I go there and help restock every weekend or so, and Mr. and Mrs. Cake are so nice."
She sighed. "But that's enough about me. How about you; I don't think I've seen you around before." she asked.

Trixie takes another sip before clearing the throat. "Very well..."
"Trixie is the greatest sorcerer and most fantastic performer of magical feats and spells in all of Equestria. Trixie has starred down a barbarous minotaur, she has halted the advance of a angry buffalo tribe, she has battled countless changelings, she has extinguished an entire town filled with parasprites, she has mastered levitation, flight spells, and her potion-brewing is unmatched! Trixie is the unsung heroine of Equestria, the one unicorn ponies can count on to hold back the wild tides of danger, and the most powerful magic-user outside of the royal alicorn sisters!" she announced dramatically, and pointed her hoof towards the ceiling. "That is who Trixie is."
Trixie then look another sip from her drink, finishing it with a content, falsely modest face. She looked at Fizzy.

Anypony who remembered Trixie back from the last time she had come to Ponyville could have been able to tell she had been lying. Fizzy, however, hadn't been here to see Trixie's show all those years ago, and so her eyes widened in amazement, finally giving the magical unicorn a chance to see her eyes clearly.
"That's amazing!" Fizzy said excitedly, her horn glowing as she released a number of fizzy bubbles from her horn out into the room.

Trixie laughed aloud at the bubbles coming from Fizzy's horn. "You amuse Trixie, she is glad to meet you." For the first time in a while, Trixie felt the need to socialize. "Fizzy, if Trixie may call you that, what exactly is the nature of these peculiar eyes of yours? If Trixe is not mistaken, they shine as brightly as diamonds! Trixie isn't aware of any eye enchantment spell that can accomplish such an effect."

"My eyes?" Fizzy asked, frowning as the atmosphere suddenly became a shade less light-hearted. She could just say that they were magic, but this unicorn seemed to be aware that would only be a lie.
There was a silence, then Fizzy responded. "Please don't be alarmed." she said, turning her head away so Trixie couldn't see it. She brought her hoof up to her head, and seemed to do something before turning back to the other unicorn. Her right eye was tightly shut, and she placed a light-red gemstone on the table.

Trixie thought for a moment as she looked at the gemstone, and then came to a sudden realization. She looked at Fizzy's closed eye, and then at the stone again.
"What in Celestia's name...? How--what? What? Is this an illusion?" she said, pointing to the gemstone. Trixie had a befuddled look on her face and felt stupefied.

Fizzy shook her head, before taking the gemstone and turning her head again and doing the same thing. Once she had turned around again, both eyes were open, the valuable rock once again in her eye socket.
"Trust me, Trixie. You never want to know what absolute darkness can do to a pony, what happens when a pony no longer requires the use of her eyes. While I have no idea how it works, what happened to make me like this is something I wouldn't wish upon anyone." she said, unusually serious given her previous demeanor.

Trixie shuddered and looked into Fizzy's eyes for another moment, before deciding that was slightly rude of her. "Trixie would apologize, but she fears that would insult Fizzy's good sensibilities, so she won't." she said respectfully.
After a moment of silence, Trixie decided to make the best of an awkward situation. "Tell Trixie, do you have any other hobbies or recreational activities aside from soda making and kitchen bubbling?"
