Fluttershy stifled a giggle as Rainbow fruitlessly tried to mimick her mention of the rare species of butterfly. She knew she really shouldn't laugh, especially given the circumstances, but it was hard to hold it back. Hopefully, Rainbow would be more aware of what she meant in the coming weekend... But that probably wasn't the case, the more she thought about it.
Her smile wavered slightly when Rainbow lightly groaned at her, but she didn't try to show any signs of being upset, since that was exactly what Dash seemed to be trying to prevent her from doing. She nodded silently when Dash flew back up to her cloud and stated the plan, turning around and trotting off after thanking her one last time.
Once she returned back home to her cottage, she let out a small sigh and whimpered slightly. She was extremely grateful to Rainbow for willingly coming along with her, but now she owed Rainbow twice as much for coming with her two times at this point. She had already missed her chance to repay her debt during the Dragon Migration all those years ago, and she simply couldn't let Rainbow do this without expressing her gratitude in someway. But how...?
Her eyes drifted over to her closet, and her eyes widened with realization. She could always give her that, couldn't she? She intended to save it for later, but she supposed she could do something else to help fill that quota. In fact, given the circumstances, it would probably be best to give it to her now. She felt relief sweep over her at this: Maybe she could make this a bit more enjoyable for Dash after all.
--------------------------
The weekend had finally arrived, and Fluttershy silently stood outside of Rainbow's home with a pair of binoculars wrapped around her neck, and a rather packed looking saddle bag resting on her. She silently knocked at the cloud door, Unsure if she was loud enough for Rainbow to hear her, yet not daring to knock any louder out of the fear of being rude.

Inside the house, Rainbow Dash appeared to be sleeping rather soundly in the Second floor bedroom, snoring a little to herself, while being almost curled up in a ball on the cloudy bed itself. In her dreams, she could see herself flying with the Wonderbolts dazzling the crowds with their amazing tricks and finesse...
Her ears appeared to twitch a little bit when Fluttershy knocked on the door... "Ugh..." As much as she wanted to go back to sleep she knew only one pony that knocked that lightly. "Muh...." With a groan, she fluttered out of bed and proceeded to stretch, before popping a few bones back into place. "What day is it today again?"
She muttered a bit more as she glided downstairs, and opened the door... And found Fluttershy standing there with a pair of binoculars and a Safari hat, another one on the cloud next to her........
"Oh.... That's what day it is today........" Rainbow Dash had a tired and somewhat irritable expression. "Hi Fluttershy."

Fluttershy's eager smile wavered slightly when she noticed that she had indeed woken Rainbow up from her slumber: in all likelyhood, the mare had forgotten about their briefly planned excursion entirely until now. Regardless, she knew this wouldn't be even remotely worth Rainbow's time unless she at least tried to remain optimistic, so she immediately replaced it with another smile, nodding her head at her.
"U-um, good morning, Rainbow. I-I can give you some time to get ready if you'd like, we're not in any hurry..." she assured her, before remembering what she was going to do when she got there. "O-oh, and I have something for you..." she leaned over and reached into her saddle bag, rummaging through it with her nose as she spoke. "I was going to save this until your birthday, but I guess I can get you something else for that..."
When she found what she wanted, she grasped it and pulled it out: it seemed to be just another safari hat, but it had a certain flare to it: along with it was a rather familiar looking safari jacket, folded nearly underneath it. "It's a Daring Do costume... I sewed it myself. You've always talked about how you've wanted one." she said, looking back up at her meekly. "I-I figured this might be a bit more fun of you if you had this to wear..."

Rainbow was only half paying attention as Fluttershy talked on about how she could take her time getting ready to go before they head off on the most boring-
However, her interest was piqued when she heard Fluttershy mention getting the her something to pay off the Speedsters coming along on this no doubt to be slow venture. She was even more intrigued to learn that the gift was going to be an early birthday present. "Well........ What is it then? Don't keep me waiting Shy'."she She tried to keep back a tone of impatience and neediness, but one couldn't deny it was still there...
Which made it all the better when she saw just what the gift was. At first she only saw the safari hat and for a moment, she wasn't sure what to make of it... Then she saw the rest, which was a professional grade (or something pretty damn close to it given Fluttershy's knowledge of stitching and sewing which rivaled even Rarity's) safari jacket that looked near exactly like a certain other Safari jacket she had seen before many times from one source. Needless to say Rainbow couldn't believe her eyes.
......................................... "Omigoshomigoshomigoshohmigoshohmigoshohmigoshohmigosh-!!!" Her eyes got wider with each one and when she finally stopped, there was an apparent smile on Rainbow's face. "Fluttershy that is awesome!! I-"
Probably as Fluttershy expected, Rainbow quickly regained her cool, and cleared her throat. "Um, I mean... Thanks Shy, this means a lot." As she said this she looked about, likely to make sure no-one else had seen her previous panic attack. Upon seeing no-one she smiled sheepishly and took the costume. "I'll be right back. Come in if you want."
And with that Rainbow zoomed back inside, likely bound for her room.

Fluttershy stifled a giggle as Rainbow suddenly started freaking out. At least now, she could take comfort in the fact that she made the trip at least slightly more tolerable for her life long friend. Maybe now she could enjoy herself a bit more, knowing that she had repaid a bit of the debt she felt she owed Dash for going on this excursion for a second time. She smiled slightly as Rainbow continued to freak out, knowing that this probably wouldn't go on much longer.
And it didn't. Like an excited dog on a leash, Rainbow suddenly pulled back, covering her enthusiastism with a shell of 'coolness', calmly thanking her after doing so. Fluttershy didn't mind, honestly: her gratitude was still there, she knew that for a fact, and that was all she really needed. "You're welcome, Rainb-" she was cut off as Rainbow announced she would return in a minute, welcoming her inside and scurrying up to her room, causing Fluttershy to shake her head and smile.
Deciding to accept her invitation, she stepped inside and looked around, the cloud home almost foreign to her. Ever since she left Cloudsdale, she hadn't lived in any form of a Cloudhome since. She had visited Rainbow's house in the past, but it was still a rather nostalgic feeling being in one again. She made her way over to the couch and politely sat down, awaiting Rainbow's arrival.

Up in her room, Rainbow Dash was... Well... "Wow... This is just soooo awesome! Forget 20% this thing pushes me up to 30% easy!" She was standing in front of her bathroom mirror taking herself in, having already slipped into the Daring Do costume to examine how it fit. As she had thought it fit perfectly, Fluttershy had really learned a lot from Rarity, given how well this costume had been put together. As it was, Rainbow Dash was loving the crap out of it, almost imagining herself as the one and only Daring Do herself. "I can't wait to show this off on Nightmare Night. Man the other ponies will be sooo jealous!"
After a moment, she shook her head, deciding to put a lid on further freaking out, after all Fluttershy was waiting for her downstairs and there was still the Great Butterfly Migration to consider. Sure Rainbow still wasn't ENTIRELY looking forward to it, but Fluttershy had went to all of this trouble to pay her off, so Rainbow couldn't say too much against that.
She wouldn't really be able to enjoy the Butterfly Migration as much as Fluttershy would, but still... Flutter was a friend, and this costume was an awesome gift. It only made sense.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Flying back downstairs, Rainbow Dash looked to find Fluttershy sitting on the sofa nearby. Rainbow had quite the grin on her face as she looked to her old pal. "So, whatcha think Shy? Pretty sweet huh?"

Fluttershy perked her head up as Rainbow came back down, giving her a sincere smile as she got up and trotted towards her. "Oh, hello Daring Doo, have you seen my friend Rainbow Dash?" she let out a small giggle, likely to Rainbow's annoyance. "I think it looks great on you, Rainbow. And I'm so happy that you like it."
Her smile wavered slightly after that, looking down at the cloud flooring below and scuffling her hooves a bit. "Well, um, we should probably get going... We're running a bit late as it is." she bit the bottom of her lip slightly. "So, um... Yeah."

Rainbow wasn't really annoyed at the joke, she liked the idea of being compared to Daring Doo. After all, what was more awesome then being a kick-flank explorer, that flew around the world, raided tombs, marked the uncharted, and, on top of that, had regular battles with the forces of evil? Nothing, that's what. The only real difference however was that Daring's adventures resided in the more fantastical realm of fantasy. Being a Wonderbolt, the more reasonable job in the realms of reality, would be a great honor, and who knew where her career would go from there. She had few things to complain about.
With that thought process put aside though. "Like it? Shy this was an awesome present! Thanks!"
That was about when Fluttershy mentioned being late, reality, speaking of it, returned and she let out a breath, hoping she wouldn't sound too aggravated. "Okay then... Lets get going... wouldn't want to be too late." She still wasn't looking forward to this whole thing at all, but give her this, she was nothing if not a mare of her word. And besides, the Daring Doo costume was a nice payment.
