Arpi just gaped slightly at what he'd heard. "...I'm not even gonna ask. And yes, you're in the Manor. I wanted to visit you today so we could talk but you weren't here. Thankfully, the Doctor was quite lovely company. I'm doing quite well, though I'll probably feel more relaxed when you're not bleeding all over the floor." He also didn't mention that he'd put his hoof on his chest, not his shoulder, but really, he couldn't blame Stronghoof for doing that. "Let me help you to the couch, alright?"

Good, he was in the Manor. From the sound of things, Arpeggio had been doing some talking to Doctor Therapy, and they were getting along well. "Glad to hear you're doing well. I'll be right back down to talk to you in a moment though, alright? I'd enjoy being able to see again without blood getting in my vision." Stronghoof lightly pulled away from Arpeggio, smiling, and turned to walk up the stairs. He faceplanted on the first step, misjudging where the first step was. "A..ah. I'm a-alright."
With little more than his pride hurt, the Earth pony continued his ascent, and disappeared into Therapy's room, coming back out a few minutes later, a large scorch mark replacing the slash on his face. "A-argh." Stronghoof rubbed his muzzle where the doctor had fixed him up, and walked back down the stairs. "Seems that the Doctor still needs a bit of practice on that method of cauterization...now, what was it that you needed, Arp?" His eyes were opened back up, and for the most part, he looked fine now.

Arpi smiled and gave Stronghoof a hug. "Well... a few things, that I wanted to talk to you about, hon..." He sat down, patting the spot next to him on the couch. "The first thing is about... you... me; us."
He really wasn't sure how to word it, blushing a little bit as he spoke.

Stronghoof returned the hug, and listened to what Arpeggio had to say as he took a seat next to him. Whatever the pegasus wanted to talk about, it was probably important to have waited around the Manor for him. "Well, I hope you weren't waiting here for too long on account of me being out. Sorry about that. So, what did you want to talk about, regarding, 'us'?"

Arpeggio swallowed slightly. "Well... it's alright. Like I said, the Doctor was good company. What I mean... that friend of yours. Did you talk to her? I... I want to say... I really like you, Stronghoof. You're a very kind and selfless stallion... and I really admire that. I... well, after that bit of cuddling... then that time at the bar... I couldn't stop thinking about it."

Oof. Now he was in a pickle, alright. By some sick twist of fate, the only two beings to ever confess attraction to him that he'd felt similarly to had done so within just days of each other. To add to that, he'd really only just met them both within the last few weeks. It was almost as if somepony was trying to play some sort of trick on him.
"Well, yes. I did talk to Dashenka about it. Seems as though she had a crush on me, that being why she flew away that night at the bar. Honestly, when she told me, I went along with it. She'll deny it if you say anything, but she's really quite a cute gryphon, and a nice sparring partner as well. As for you. Hmn. I do like you quite a bit too. Even though you two are basically on opposite spectrums as far as personalities go, I'd...hmn..."
This was really confusing now. Having a view on sexuality that went both ways, it just made it all the harder to choose between the two.

Oh dear. He was afraid of this. That having been said, he was not afraid of the female griffon. He really cared about Stronghoof; he felt quite strong feelings for the selfless stallion. "I... I see. Well, I'm not going to try and force anything on you, Hoofy..." He blushed a little as he used the pet-name he remember using when drunk. "I'll... I don't know exactly. Anyway... the other thing. The Doctor told me a bit about your family... underground gladiator pits in Trottingham, right? Well, I can't think that the Griffons would've found those quite yet; they only recently took the city. ...Stronghoof, I want to help you free your family." His expression was completely serious.

He didn't want anything forced either. The stallion just needed to...talk to Dashenka. Maybe they could work something out that left everyone involved happy. The name of Hoofy was neat though. Most ponies that knew him in casual conversation just called him Barry, to shorten his family name, but he'd never come across anyone who shortened his first name. It was rather endearing. "Yes, my family is still imprisoned in Trottingham, I'm afraid. Wild Side had offered to help me long ago. With her leg like it is now though, I'm afraid she'll have to sit out, and I couldn't rightfully ask Dashenka to fight against her own kind. I did just get back from adventuring with a unicorn though. He seemed moderately skilled, but I'm afraid the idea of stealth seemed lost on him..."
Stronghoof leaned over a bit on the couch and hugged Arpeggio again. "Thank you for the offer, Arp. You have no idea how much I appreciate it."

Arpi pulled Stronghoof closely against him in the hug. "You're very welcome... Heh. I want you to be happy, too. You're so selfless... I want to help you and your family. If I'm the only one available to aid you, then so be it. You may be built like a steel wall but I'm no slouch either." He chuckled, nuzzling Stronghoof's cheek. "All I need to know is when we're going." He smiled and gave Stronghoof's forehead a nuzzle.

Stronghoof truly hoped that if Dashenka was going to arrive on the scene unexpectedly again, she'd not do so now. He'd already been seen in an incriminating position with Arpeggio once, and now that he actually knew how she felt, this would be hard to explain. He wasn't at all against the idea of being nuzzled. Just the idea of breaking the gryphon's heart. "If it's just the two of us, it'll make stealth a great deal easier, but I'm not sure that we alone could face down an entire enemy town, occupied by gryphons."

"Maybe not, but that's what stealth is for, right?" He let Stronghoof go, sitting back a little. "It'll be dangerous, that's for sure, but it's a risk that I'm willing to take to help you, Stronghoof." He smiled softly. "If we choose our battles carefully, we can knock out any lone Griffons that might see us and raise an alarm. With a little bit of luck we can get in, get your family, and get out. I don't know how many ponies are being held down there... or if we'd even find any others."

Stronghoof hung his head in thought. If he were counting all his brothers and sisters, and his parents, and uncle, assuming they were all still alive, that would still be just under a dozen ponies to get out, and that was just his family. Whoever else was still trapped down in the gladiator pits probably wanted to escape too, and wouldn't take too kindly to them leaving alone. Maybe he could convince them though. It had been a while, but they were still the closest thing he had to growing up in a family setting.
"Yes, we could try that. It's the closest thing to a solid plan we have at the moment. Time is of the essence though. If we're going to be doing that, we should leave within the next few days. Will you be ready by then?"

"Yes. I will be ready. I'll look up the surrounding area to find more obscured places where we can use to escape after getting them out." The pegasus gave the earth pony a squeeze. "I'm sure we can do this. I'd just... feel bad for some of the other ponies that might be down there... I might have to see if I couldn't get a few ponies to help set up a group to help get them out of there later... Either way. I'm with you, Hoofy." He nuzzled the other stallion's cheek before breaking the hug.

"There should be an area to the west of Trottingham covered in mountains if we wanted to take that route for escape. The gryphons would be able to give chase to those of us less...flight-inclined, but there would be plenty of areas to hide. The only other option I can think of is heading straight south, to Stalliongrad. It's mostly plains in between Trottingham and there, and I doubt the gryphons would follow us too far into Equestria."
Stronghoof returned the nuzzle and pulled away. The very idea of returning to Trottingham set his stomach in knots, but he knew that he was likely the only hope that his family had for escape. This had to be done, for them.

Arpi smiled a bit. "I think it would be better to take the mountainous path. If we took the plains and they followed us anyway, we'd be wide open. I'm sure we can do it."
He nodded a little. "I'll do whatever it takes to make sure your family gets out safely."
