It was risky, but she couldn't really help it. In the end, Wild wasn't just a pony, after all. She still needed meat, and just eating it at the full moon wasn't enough, especially for her foals. She'd learned that the hard way. So every so often, she'd go out deep into Whitetail Woods, and hunt. She didn't need much, really - just a few kills for her, and one small one each for the twins. The main difficulty, really, was getting the meat back home. Of course, Circle mostly made that easy.
She currently stalked carefully through the bushes in her pony form, not needing to risk losing control by stumbling upon a pony while she was in her wolf form. The little rabbit in the clearing before her had no reason to fear the scent of a pony, after all...
Just a little closer...

Just a little closer...got it!
Dashenka flared her wings, drawing back to grasp the rabbit as she went from diving to gliding, agility assisting her to come to a halt without breaking herself on a tree. She settled on the earth and examined her prey, struggling in one claw - struggles that ceased as she violently crushed down and heard the creature's spine pop under the pressure. It was a dispassionate thing - this was prey, and food. The ways of nature. Hardly something to get bothered about.
For a moment, she paused, letting out a small 'hm' sound. She could've sworn there was something else there, but she didn't exactly see it when she took the rabbit. Settling down, she dropped the lagomorph for a moment, moving to lick the spilt blood from her claws before she feasted.

Wild lunged as the rabbit hopped closer to her hiding place, putting it in perfect range for her lunge. She expected to fall upon the little rabbit with her teeth and end it's life with a quick, fatal bite to the neck. It didn't happen anything like she expected. Even as her jaws nearly closed around the rabbit, there was a rustle of feathers and a flap of wings, and it was snatched from her grasp. She looked down at the lack of rabbit in confusion for a moment before rage clouded her thinking.
"Hey! Give that back!"

Dashenka was halted millimeters from consuming the dead beast, turning to glare at Wild. "Who would I be giving it back to? I caught it, fair and square." She said in a not-entirely-mature way, a claw closing on the rabbit's throat protectively. "You should've been a little faster if you wanted it." She said, keeping an eye on Wild as she made a move to transfer the creature from claw to beak, spreading her wings to ready herself for flight.

"If I had moved any sooner, it would have gotten away, you overgrown sparrow!" Wild was too busy being angry that her prey had been literally snatched from her jaws to realize that she was in a rather incriminating situation. She was hungry and cranky and while literally the third best thing in her life so far had happened not to long ago, she'd had hardly anything but bad luck since.

Dashenka growled slightly, beak snapping shut as she glared at Wild. "Sparrow, is it? Listen, grass-muncher, I don't know what you want with a rabbit anyway, but call me sparrow and you'll end up the prey here, not the stupid rabbit." She looked Wild up and down. She'd never really eaten a pony before...well, at least, not a raw one. But if this sack of bones wanted to fight she'd be happy to take a few bites out of her.

"Hah! A sparrow is all I see! I bet you can't even hunt without stealing somepony else's prey!" Wild pranced in place a bit, feeling rather pugnacious. She didn't get any chance to get into a good scrap when she went out drinking with Stronghoof and Arpeggio, after all, so this might be her chance to make up for that lack. "A silly kittybird!"

Dashenka smirked a bit, leaning in to tear a slight strip from the rabbit, consuming it quickly and leaving a small amount of blood on her beak. "A sparrow..." she chuckled, letting the limp creature fall in the dirt as she sat back, cracking her knuckles. "If I'm a sparrow, pony, then what does that make you? After all, you clearly weren't good enough to beat me to the kill. I'd say that makes you...hmm...let's go with slow. You sound pretty slow to me." She glared at Wild, wings spreading slightly as she prepared for the inevitable fight.

Wild felt her hackles raise as the gryphon insulted her further, and she bared her teeth in an angry growl. "Are you calling me stupid?" she responded hotly, pawing the ground in front of her. Her eyes tracked the rabbit as it fell, bright red drops of dirt speckling the dirt. "Why don't you just fly away, birdie. These are my woods!"

Dashenka's eyes narrowed. "I'm getting pretty sick of you, grassmuncher." She hissed, her tone getting dangerous. She lifted her wings, taking off and watching her shadow on the ground. She quickly raised to a level where Wild was beneath her shadow, the sun flaring behind her and turning her into little more than a black blur. "Give you one last chance before I kick your flank, pony! Back. Off!"

"I'll take you on!" Wild stood her ground, though still careful not to put weight on her injured leg. The bone had mended now, but it was still very sore and very weak. She'd have to be careful not to let it get hurt again.
"Come down here and fight like a stallion, you big chicken!"

"Stallion? I'll fight like a gryphon!" She called, followed by a piercing screech as she dived. She wasn't really fond of killing this pony, so she restrained her claws, diving down with flat palms as she aimed to swoop over the pony and knock her into the dirt.

As the gryphon swooped down, Wild crouched on her legs and waited. She threw herself into a sideways dive at the last moment, reversing on her rear legs and tackling the gryphon as she went past. She wasn't out for blood, though, so she didn't bare her fangs or try to bite, just smack into her.

Dashenka tried to sweep to the side as Wild crouched, but failed. The impact put her off-balance and she careened to the side, losing altitude and smacking into the dirt with an indignant squawk as her wing was squashed beneath her. Wincing, she remained still for a few moments before lifting up with a grunt, clearly in pain with one wing hanging limply at her side. "You...bitch."

"Yeah," Wild growled, "You've got that right. I'm a bitch. A nasty one. I don't take shit from anything, including bitchy lionbirds with a stick up her ass!"
Wild stood there, panting heavily, her tongue hanging out. She was getting way too tired...too hungry to continue fighting like this. She wasn't going to cede defeat to this stuck-up sparrow, though.
