It had only been a couple of days before since the town meeting. Blast had been busy working away at the preparations he could manage on his own, so that things would be ready when the time comes to begin formal training of the ponyfolk in getting ready for Ponyville to become a war front itself, should such an event happen. His travels and work have thus far brought him to a more remote corner of Ponyville just near the Everfree Forest. It was there he was gathering a small supply of materials that would get put to use soon enough. By the time most of work had been finished it late afternoon had almost begun to become early evening. He had taken it upon himself to do most of the setup alone as the less large movements detected in the town, the less of an immediate target it would become. Blast Box levitates a tarp over the materials and trots back to a nearby tree to sit beneath it for a little bit of a rest.

Wild came out of the forest, tired but happy. She hadn't really gone there for any particular reason - just a walk. While most ponies wouldn't care to take a stroll through the Everfree Forest, Wild didn't care. She smirked, though the expression didn't hold much mirth. I'm scarier than just about anything in there anyways...
As she left the cover of the trees, she stopped, and raised her nose to the air to sniff. That was...she looked around, and trotted over to a solitary tree with a grey unicorn sitting beneath it.
"Blast Box? What are you doi...oh." She looked around at the pile of supplies covered by the tarp. "Been busy, have you?"

Blast Box's left hind leg kicks over his right while he relaxes against the tree. His eyes closed but his face aimed at towards the sun. Two of his forelegs crossed over his chest one hoof tapping away at an unheard beat. Though he would appear asleep to most, he was actually lost in thought, as well as resting off the work. His brow folded and contorted for a moment at the sound of approaching hoofbeats, though his eyes still closed, he wasn't ready just yet to perceive it as a threat.
In another moment the silence was broken by a reasonably familiar voice, at least he remembers hearing it again recently. His mouth turns upward in a nonchalant smile as he hears her rhetorical question. Eyes still closed he starts to talk, face still turned towards the sun. "It is sometimes hard to remember there is a war going on... The sun rises and sets, as does the moon. The wind blows and the trees and grass still grows, all as it did before it all started. Foals will be born not knowing the serenity before the upheaval... What of them? What will they think of this world?"
Blast Box exhales, his eyes opening and his head turns towards Wild Side, "Aye, I have been rather busy this afernoon. But I didn't expect company, you'll have to pardon the mess."

"I don't think that's something we need to worry about, Blast. I don't think this war will go on so long as that. At least, I hope not."
Wild sat down under the tree as well, on the opposite side as the grey unicorn. It was...strange. He was one of the few ponies who knew what she was, and he didn't really seem to mind. Fluttershy, she understood. Glaive and Circle made sense. Why was Blast Box so calm about it?
"You know...I never had a chance to properly thank you."

Blast Box's eyes remain locked onto Wild Side's, "I hope you're right, and if you are right, I hope out side wins. That is, if peace is not an option... If we lose, we'll lose everything." Blast's eyes follow Wild Side as she moves around to the other side of the tree, that is until his vision is blocked. He returns his gaze back towards the slowly moving sun.
He nods hearing her thanks, raising his left hoof in the air with a wave,. "There isn't much thanks required, can't let some lowlife go around wreaking havoc all over, especially when it comes to the attempt to slay younglings." A few minutes go by before he speaks up again. "I've been around, Wild Side... I've seen some things, but surely not everything..." Another short pause, "That day by Saddle Lake... What I saw, what are you?"

"We might, yeah. But keeping something can be a lot harder than just taking it, you know? And if nothing else, we'll drag those bastards down to hell with us."
Ah, and there was the real question. Ponies might intellectually be aware of the existence of things like marewolves, but being faced with them is another matter entirely. Especially for one who didn't entirely believe in them anyways. She just worried about how Blast Box would react. She'd been in this situation before. Somepony saw her shift, and was surprisingly okay with it - until that specific word was uttered.
"I...I'm a lycan. A marewolf."

Blast Box's eyes go wide at the mention of what Wild Side was. He'd been around and has traveled a bit, but he never thought something such as that could truly exist. Though even that day at Saddle Lake he may have seen her during the shift, but even then he was not sure what it was he was dealing with. It was not as if he was used to seeing such a thing, and a lot more was going on that day then to let him stop and ponder the metaphysical ramifications of lycanthropy in ponies.
He shifts from his position, putting a forehoof on the grass supporting him as he turns around the tree to try to get a better look at Wild Side for a few moments, before falling back to his sitting position on the other side of the tree. "So you're the real thing then... I wasn't sure what it was I had seen that day, but I did not think to make the connection..." He exhales audibly as an orange glow creeps up his horn subtly, before he continues, "Have you come to keep your secret?" His a little more stern as he finishes asking the question.

Wild snorted heavily, turning her head to the ground. "No," she said, a bitter tone in her voice. "I'm not. I'm here to ask you to keep it." She pushed around some twigs and pebbles on the ground, just for the distraction to keep her hooves from smashing the tree to splinters. "I do everything I can to keep it secret, and to make sure I'm not in a position to hurt anypony...but nopony ever cares. They just hear that I'm a marewolf and assume that I'm out for their blood." She sighed and spoke in a quieter tone now. "Even you, it seems..."

Blast Box sighs as the glow dissipates from his horn. "In that case, forgive me... I cannot say I've had much contact with lycans. The stories I have heard have always been very few and far between, though none of them paint it in a positive light." His body language would show him take up his previous relaxed state sitting against the tree. "At any rate it is good to know you are on the side of Ponyville. For a pony of your... Nature. I was surprised you'd be so fervent in the defense of the town as you were at the meeting."

"There's a reason for that, Blast. My kind are brutish and nasty, and I'm not really an exception. I just hide it better than most." There was a bitterness in her voice, and in the twist of her lips. Her harsher nature was hardly something she could take pride in, after all. More a sign of a monster than anything else. "As for defending this place...it's my home. My only home. The only home I've ever known. I think that would explain it."

Blast Box nods, "I think I can understand some of it..." Blast rights himself beneath the tree, rising to his hooves for a moment, giving a quick shake of his head causing his mane to flap around. When he stops it falls back down and he takes a few steps around the tree so that he is now next to Wild Side. Though not looking at her, he looks on in the same direction as her, putting his rear down to sit without the tree. "Well, for what it is worth I am glad you are on our side, we may need some ferocity against the enemy we face, but I am not looking to lose life on our side. I want ponies to outlive and outlast our enemies in this strife, be you equine or lycan, I am not looking for anypony to throw their lives away."

"I don't intend to throw my life away," Wild responded, still not looking at Blast even as the stallion walks over to sit next to her. "I have two foals and a coltfriend, after all...well, a fiance now." She smiled, a hint of warmth finally creeping into her voice. She fondly rubbed the golden ring around her foreleg that symbolized their coming union. "Besides...you saw what happened to me. It takes a lot to put me down, and even more to keep me down."

Blast Box nods at Wild Side's mention of what was a close semblance of a family, "Then you know perhaps more than most what is at stake here..." He hears the change in her voice, and looks to the side at her watching the movement and the eventual rubbing of the the ring signifying the to-be union. "A brave colt indeed, I cannot imagine many stallions would willingly take a marewolf in marriage without hesitation or apprehension."
Blast turns away from her again, now looking straight on in the same direction her. "Yes, I did see that. But I fear in the event of invading griffons, zebras, and diamond dogs to fight head-on would prove fatal, even for a mare of your... Unique abilities."

"All of them at once, maybe. But wolves don't fight head on. They strike from the shadows, co-ordinated with packmates to attack with as much ferocity and as little risk as possible. That's the only way Equestria can win, anyways. Fighting smart, not stupid. Not brave, maybe, but who cares about that if it gets us killed?" Wild let her leg fall back does, shifting herself off of a rock that was digging into her side. "So don't worry about me. I can handle myself. Besides...wouldn't you rather have the monster on your side than theirs?"

Blast Box gives a quick glance at Wild Side with a smirk, "I suppose if given the choice, a monster can come in quite handy." He sighs, looking back up to the sky having grown darker with the Sun moving down into the evening time. "If you're thinking of fighting, can you afford for other ponies to see your wolf form? It might attract attention from both sides."
