"I was thinking of making a salad... lettuce, rose petals, and spinach... with chopped apples. Would that be alright?"
He smiled a bit as he heard Fenny's purring, enjoying the feeling of the warm bird on his head. "What does your bird eat?"

"Thats cool!" she exclaimed before tilting her head to one side. "...but um... whats a sa-lad?"
Starry had almost always either eaten from a forest or eaten apples from nearby orchards. She had always eaten her food separate, so the term had never been used by her. The term puzzled her, was it a berry or a fruit or a vegetable? Starry didnt know... and could care less, as Arpeggio had just questioned her about her phoenix.
"Ah thats easy! Give him either Kibbles or Chocolate. He loves either one." she explained.

"I don't have any pets, so I don't have kibbles, but I do have some chocolate." He picked Starry up onto his back, beginning to walk back home. "You'll see. You might like it." He chuckled softly. "You seem very nice... it's a pleasure to get to know and teach you, Starry. Also, does your phoenix have a name?"

"Ah don’t worry, i have some." she told him before reaching into her saddlebags and pulling out a small paper bag. Fenny's head lifted off Arpeggio's mane and stared right at the bag. Starry shaked it a bit, tempting him, but the phoenix didn’t want to leave his mane. She opened the bag, letting an aroma of burnt fruit hit the air.
Fenny leaped from his place in the air and tried to snatch the bag from Starry's hooves. However, the filly was fast and dodged his grab. "Ah ah ah! Say please and thank you Fenfen." she told the bird. Fenny landed on ehr back and continued to eye the bag, seemingly obsessed with it. Starry took out a single pellet. It looked like a small burnt, molded piece of dried fruit. She tossed it to Arpy and smiled.
"You’ve got his attention now." she told him.

The pegasus looked at the piece of fruit, blinking a few times. "Huh? Wasn't quite what I was expecting when you said 'kibble' but I see..." He held it up to the phoenix. "Here you go." He still continued walking as he fed the phoenix, though.

Fenny lunged for the treat as it was still in mid air and caught it in his beak. He then devoured it midair, his sharp beak chopping it to smaller bits. The phoenix then flew back to the pair before landing right on Arpeggio's back, satisfied with one treat, but awaiting another.
Starry let out another giggle as they walked. Kibbles were Fenny's favorite treat. Whenever one was present, he would be focused on little else other than devouring it. "Its just a small burnt fruit mold, homemade.... except I don’t have a 'home' so I guess its just 'made'." she explained.

"Ahh, I see. Well, alright. It doesn't look that tough to make. I'll see if I can't make something like that up when we get back."
After a little more walking, Arpi stopped in front of a cozy-looking home. "Here we are." He opened the door, a smallish living room with a cushy couch and a few chairs entering her view. "I'll make up lunch; you two go ahead and relax, okay?"

"Ah dont worry about that, I have plenty." she replied.
Starry followed Arpeggio to his house, no phased at all by the fact that she was walking into a complete strangers home. She walked inside and sat down on the house, stretching on it. Fenny ducked under the doorway, so his head wouldnt be hit, before hopping off his back and examining different parts of the room.
"Kay thanks!" Starry replied.

Arpi nodded slightly before going into the kitchen, going through his refrigerator to get the lettuce, rose petals, and spinach out. He broke and cut up the vegetables, putting them in a bowl, before getting a few crisp apples and cutting them into pieces, tossing the salad. "There we go... quick and easy." A little dressing and it was ready.
"Do you want anything to drink?"

Starry stretched her wings out on the couch. It had been a long time, maybe even three years, since she had been on something as comfortable as this. The couch was comfy, that was fore sure, and just comfortable enough for her to actually relax in it.
"Got any juice?" she called into the kitchen.

"I do. Apple is all I have; hopefully that's good." He poured her a glass and a cup of tea for himself, setting it at the table, along with the salad. "It's ready whenever you are." He sat down, stretching a bit.

"Cmon fen! we got food!" she called to her phoenix. However, Fen was busy exploring Arpeggio's house. He was convinced that Starry had planned this all out and had hid more Kibbles around for him, so he refused to go to the table untill he had found them.
Starry, however, didnt care whether or not he made i to the table. She had run to it immediatly an devoured her salad, sparing not a second (nor any manners) and hastily ate all that she was given. Staa=rry then gulped down the juice. "All done!" she said happily.

The large pegasus blinked a few times. "...Wow. I don't think I've ever seen anyone eat that fast before. I get the feeling you don't eat often? Would you like something else?"
He was trying to be hospitable, but he was still dumbfounded by what he'd just witnessed. He ate a bit of his own lunch.

"Oh no no no. Sorry for eating so fast. I'm just used to eating by myself in the forest. " she told him before leaning across the table and whispering.
"... And you never eat slowly there, too many dangerous animals."
Fenny had given up his search for his food in the living room and had returned to the kitchen. He hopped next to Arpeggio and lightly poked Arpy's leg using his beak.

The pegasus knew the forest was supposed to be dangerous, but she lived there...? Interesting... "Mm? Well, hello again." The brown pegasus smiled and lifted the phoenix up with his wing. "Well, if that's fine, then as soon as I'm finished eating I can help teach you the basics of flying. He lifted the phoenix up to his mane as he began to eat his salad.
