The brown pegasus really wasn't sure how long it had been. A day or two, maybe. Either way, Arpeggio found himself going to Ponyville Manor yet again and knocking on the door to Stronghoof's room there. "Hello? Hoofy, you here?"
He'd wanted to talk to the earth pony again before they went to Trottingham. After all, there was a lot of risk involved...

Stronghoof had just finished making a snack for lunch when he remembered that he'd be headed back home to Trottingham in a few days time to rescue his family. The encounter had been a long time coming, and now that he'd finally found somepony to help him, and one that had a free schedule as well, it seemed a good a time as any, with Trottingham still in a bit of an upheaval over the current gryphon occupation.
The Earth pony trotted up to his room to look over some of his armors once more, attempting to decide on which one would be most suited for this kind of encounter. Before he could fully reason out a single one to take, he heard a knock, and a familiar voice, come from his door. "Ah, yes. Arp. Feel free to come in."

The pegasus smiled happily, opening the door and entering, greeting the earth pony with a nuzzle. "How're you doing, Hoofy?" He always did enjoy talking with the beefy earth pony. "I wanted to visit with you at least once before we head out for Trottingham... is that okay?"

Stronghoof returned the friendly nuzzle to the pegasus, always glad to see him. "I'm doing fine, for the most part. Good to see you though. I don't typically get too many visitors from outside the Manor to come see me~." It was true, to a fault. For all the ponies that recognized him out on the streets for his good deeds, none of them ever saw fit to visit him, and that was fine. He was out and about enough as it was.
"It's perfectly fine that you came to visit, Arp. If you're anywhere near as nervous as I am about going to Trottingham, then it's good that you came. It could help cool both of our heads on the situation a bit if we thought it out first." The Earth pony reached out for a nearby bottle of rum, that he'd gotten for Dashenka and himself about a week back. "Would you like anything to drink?"

Dashenka wasn't particularly busy at the moment, lounging about on her bed as she was wont to do sometimes. She had gone through her new routine - her favourite part of it, a nice, civilised shower.
Despite it, however, she was restless, unusually active for the time of day, where she would usually drink something or maintain her weaponry before going to sleep early. But tonight was different. There were voices and knocking in the next room, and she was....curious.
After a moment of indecision, she got up, looking back at the slightly damp blankets. Hopefully they'd dry before she needed to sleep between them. With slight hesitation she walked towards the door that adjoined their rooms, opening it and looking through. "Stronghoof, I heard someone come in, are you b..." she froze as she saw the pegasus, her body tensing slightly. "Ah. You're busy, then. I guess i'll come back later..." she said, starting to close the door again.

The brown pegasus froze a little bit as he saw the griffon; he visibly tensed up. "Nnh... u-um..."
He really wasn't sure what to say. He was, however, grateful that she didn't gut him... he was still pretty sure that she didn't like him.

Stronghoof was all prepared to start the evening off right when Dashenka opened the door between their rooms. The more, the merrier, he thought. At least, that's what he would've liked to happen. With one look at each other, Dashenka and Arpeggio seemed to freeze up a bit, and the gryphon attempted to retreat back into her room. Not on his watch, she wouldn't! This was the perfect opportunity to have all three of them sit down and talk about...a few things.
"Shenks, wait just one moment!" The Earth pony leaped over to the closing door, and put a hoof in between it, and it's only path of closing. He smiled warmly as he looked at Dashenka through the small crack that was left. "You should come in here and join us. Nothing like a friendly chat to set off an evening to a good start, yes?"

Shenks looked Stronghoof in the eye, frowning slighhtly. "I..." she started, unsure already simply frm the smile of the earth pony. "I...." There was really nothing she could do to get out of this, was there? "Fine." she said. Damnit Stronghoof, stop being so cute. "I'll come in..." she mumbled, opening the door and looking almost sullen, though she didn't look outright angry or sad, only slightly unsure about Arpeggio.

Arpeggio didn't say much, but he did nod slightly to the griffon. "H-Hey..." He shuffled a hoof lightly on the floor, a little unsure as well. "Um..." 'This is so awkward...'
He really wasn't sure what to do.

Upon Dashenka opening the door, Stronghoof immediately put a hoof up around her and pulled the gryphon into his room, closing the door behind her. "Now now, you two, no need to be shy. You're both winged creatures of the sky, and you both enjoy my company, so at the very least, you have that in common." Stronghoof gathered a small table that he'd recently acquired for his room, and put it out in the middle of the area, motioning to the other two to take a seat around it.
"Now, we're going to have a nice, civilized conversation between the three of us, aren't we? This will be a good opportunity for you two to get to know each other. You're both very important to me, and I'd hate for any sorts of rifts to be formed here that would harm the future of any relations." The Earth pony kept up his warm smile, directed at both of them.

Dashenka couldn't help but shiver at the touch, unable to meet Arpeggio's gaze. Finally she sighed, sitting next to Stronghoof. "Why do you have to be so agreeable? It sucks." she pouted, picking slightly at the carpet with one claw. "I...I guess...it wouldn't be so bad to get to know each other." she finally spoke, grudgingly. "If you insist, Stronghoof."

Arpeggio rubbed the back of his head a bit, just a little unnerved still. "Alright..." He had to admit that Stronghoof's smile did reassure him somewhat. It was comforting. "If you insist, Stronghoof." The pegasus got up and took a seat at the table, glancing at Dashenka. "So... um... where to start...? I guess my name? I don't know if you know it; I'm Arpeggio... pleased to properly meet you."

"Dashenka." She responded curtly, still bristling slightly from having Stronghoof drag her into the room. "Pleased to meet you too, I guess." She replied, though it was clear from her voice that she, well, wasn't.

They spoke their names to each other, so that was a start, at least. He remained seated at the table, the three of them in a triangular formation around it's circled surface. The bottle of rum that he'd had was placed in the middle of their table, three glasses surrounding it, that had come from parts unknown. Truth be told, he wasn't even aware that he had three separate drinking glasses in his room, but he shrugged off the oddity, and poured himself a glass.
"See? Saying names isn't so hard, you two. Now, what say we drink to new friendships, hm?" Stronghoof raised his own glass, now filled a bit with rum, and awaited the other two to do the same.

Arpeggio, a little nervously, almost, took his glass, filling it. "I... guess I can do that..."
Truth be told, his eyes rarely left Shenks', though the pegasus' nerves were likely easy to see. He was a little intimidated by the griffon.
