The light tapping sound of a hammer hitting would could be heard just outside the ever-open gates of the Ponyville estate. Seraph had just posted the sign, decorated with colorful metals that he had molded just for the occasion. The sign read "Sanctuary Inn". He'd just gotten the licensing done to advertise in town, so he was sure that there would be plenty who knew about the place. And with the addition of a whole new wing, it would be able to fit more ponies(and other various species as was the case) than it ever had before!
Once he was done with the sign, he went 'round back to check on the garden. It was large enough now that it could sustain it's current inhabitants with ease. Though most of the guests seemed to prefer going out and purchasing their own meals, so Seraph mostly found himself selling the excess. It was a good day, war or no war. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and he'd just received word that his hometown was doing well despite the state of the nation.
Seraph took a deep breath of fresh spring air. Then, the down-to-earth Pegasus let out a long sigh of contentment. The breeze came by, as if agreeing with his thoughts of the fine morning. He had nothing to do today except make the days meals and relax. He headed back inside, readjusting his garment that had been tampered by the wind. The black and orange outfit a tell of his origins. "I should start planning adding another wing..." He said to himself, just now thinking to get to his designing materials.

"...Yet another sunny day in Ponyville, such a contrasting mood to whats goin on out there." Quick thought to himself. Yes it was indeed a sunny day out qith a crisp, cool breeze in the air. A lone earth pony, carrying a rather oddly large crossbow, was strolling down the streets. He didnt have a particular route in mind, as long as the destination was the same. Quick was headed to the 'Sanctuary Inn' on the southwestern side of town.
It had been a rough couple of weeks for Quick. He had been asking around for any extra mercenaries who needed work, though oddly the 'usual bunch' had already taken assignments in regards to the war. Quick, left without a spotter nor partner, was stuck without a job. To add insult to inury Ponyville, the location of his beloved sister, was now on the potential target list for the enemy. This was something that Quick, who currently had an apartent in Cnterlot, woulc not and could not let happen. If she died he would be crushed. So it seemed like a good choice to find an open apartment in Ponyville. Luckily for him, rumors spread quickly, and Quick heard of a place that was opening a new wing soon, perfect for a pony looking for a place to stay.
It didnt take long for him to arrive. Even when walking Quick was naturally faster that other ponies. Maybe it was a longer stride, maybe better leg strength, he didnt know... just one of those odd perks that he had. Quick walked in through the entrance and looked around. The place was massive, much larger than he would have expected. It didnt take him long to find the landlord.
"Oui! Got a room open?" he called out to the pegasus.

Seraph turned to look at the visitor. He seemed rather in need of a room as he expressed without so much as a 'hello'. He decided to let it slide on the basis that he couldn't expect one to have much in the way of a good attitude in times like these.
"Hello there!" He greeted "Welcome to the Sanctuary Inn!" He walked up to the visitor with a smile. "You're in luck, there's just been a whole new wing added to the estate, so there are plenty of rooms available!"

"So ive heard..." he replied. The owner was a pegasus, and that almost immediatly gave him the envy of quick. They had wings, while he had his hooves, not really a fair matchup to him anyways. Grudges aside, he needed a room and was hoping to get a nice one.He matched the owners smile, though it really wasnt one that fit him well, considering that large weapon on his back and his green clothing.
"Rumors spread quickly around in bars. There was a particular one going around about a Sanctuary Inn an few days ago and decided to pay it a visit. Recently I've been in need of a room close to ponyville and i was hoping I could rent one here. You wouldnt happen to have a nice one for rent now would you?" he asked the pegasus,

"Well, clearly you missed the part where we've added a whole new wing." Seraph said with a tone that said 'duh'. "Come on, let's see if we've got something you like." He beckoned the travelor to follow and headed to a brand spanking new archway that lead to the new wing of the mansion.
The walls were painted white, with a subtle crimson pattern. The trim was a night-sky black with etchings of constelations and star systems. Between every couple sets of doors was a tapestry with the crest of the guild Seraph was proud to represent, and was sure would be well known, Dawn to Dusk. More commonly known as the great knowledge seekers, the Descentents of The Stars. The cloud-white banner held their crest, a black star atop a red crescent moon.
Seraph stopped at one of the nearer rooms and opened it. The walls were pretty much the same, minus the tapestries. There was a single bed, enough space to fit a small family, a specious closet and a decorative plant here and there. "What do you think? These rooms are brand new, and pretty soon all of the old rooms will be refurbished to match."

Quick chuckled in response. Of course he had heard about the new wingt and had guessed that rent would be lowered because of it. More rooms should mean less overall rent to be paid, if he was correct.
"Clearly! I mus have heard wrong then!" he replied jovially. It was best to get on the good side of the landlord now, lest he accidently end up getting kicked out later on for some random reason. It was always best to make friends with your landlord, in QUick's opinion.
Quick walked down the hallways and began to notice all the nicities beside him. 'Great... i was hoping that this place wasnt too fancy, guess i was wrong.' he thought to himself before he noticed the guild crest It looked oddlty familiar to him, and he was sure that he had seen it before. Then it hit him, that crest was of the Dawn to Dusk guild. It really didnt matter much at first. Quick figured that maybe he would bring it up later, just to strike up a conversation.
Quick looked inside the room, it was perfect and even had a nice view outside. It was all he could have really asked for.
"I think its a bit fancy compared to what I'm used to to be honest, but I think I'm in need of a change anyways." he replied before setting his crossbow down and testing the bed.

Seraph could see that the traveler was just a bit hesitant about the room. "I do give my guests free range as far as their rooms are concerned." He said reassuringly. "You can decorate it however you want without worrying about keeping it at... We'll call this the 'default'."
Most of his current residents already had their rooms done in their own particular style. They did things from painting walls, to ripping up carpet. Seraph was sure he'd seen just about everything with his curious group of housemates. "You should also know that it doesn't matter how long your stay is, whether its a couple days or an extended stay. There are some guests who've been here for almost 7 years now, I think."

Quick took everything his new landlord was saying into consideration before replying. There were in fact a few things he could use to decorate his own room, namely a small desk that he could use to make his sleeper arrows.
".... That sounds fine, I've got a few ideas already. Tell me though... One year? You have patrons that have stayed for one year? Permanent residence I would assume? "

Seraph smiled. "Yeah! Quite a few of them have been around for an extended period." He said. "They pay a monthly fee. It's quite affordable, I assure you. In fact, there's a traveler like yourself who's been here for a while too." He enjoyed speaking of his small little community. Pretty soon he'd have a whole new town in his backyard if he kept up the construction.
"The only thing is, there isn't currently any room service. So if you want to eat, you'll have to go into town."

"Oh? Another traveler like me? Haha what's his name and room number? I'll pay him a visit one of these days. Should be nice." Quick replied before taking off his quiver and setting it down on the bed. It wasn't heavy, but carrying it around for nearly three days since his departure from Canterlot was annoying an he had wanted to get it off as soon as possible.
"No room service? Good, I thought I might end up hearing bell-hops all night. Those guys can get intrusive and annoying in my opinion." replied.'however, this no dinner thing might work to my advantage... Lets just wait and see though...' Quick thought to himself before returning to the landlord. He then put out his hoof.
"Names Quick... Quick Colt."

Seraph gladly took Quick's hoof. "Seraph." He said. "Good to meet you. Is there anything else that you wanted to see before you make a decision?" He suggested. There were many places in the estate that he could show off. There was the courtyard, the atrium, the field, the garden, the pool house, kitchen, recreation rooms, the east wing, upstairs accommodations, astrology room, library, ballroom and of course the wine cellar. Most of which are all brand new."
Seraph finished listing off the locations of the estate without so much as a second breath. Not appearing to be winded by the many places that filled just the estate alone.

Quick thought for a moment before walking over to the bed and picking up all his equipment.
"Any chance I could get a room overlooking one of the outside courtyards? I enjoy practicing archery and I'm thinking about setting up some targets outside. " he replied

"Ah, of course." Seraph said, happy to oblige in the adventurer's wish. "Right this way." he said and led Quick to a room down the hall and on the opposite side. The setup was pretty much the same. Except this room's window had an excellent view of the courtyard. "How's this?"

Quick followed Seraph down towards another room. This new one was the exact same as the last one, save for the new view.
"Ah yes... Now THIS is perfect. You wouldn't mind me setting up a few targets outside would you? " he asked his landlord.

Seraph thought for a moment. "Well, the space isn't being used for anything at the moment. Soooo, no. I don't mind at all!" He went to the window and pointed to an area near the woodline. "I think right about there would be best. To keep stray bolts from flying towards any houseguests. Don't you agree?"
