TRAMPLEVANIA AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS
Tramplevania The easternmost city in the country of Equestria, Tramplevania is one of the last cities under Equestrian rule before entering Ib’Xian, the Ibex Empire, and as a result, is the most important trading city with the Ibex. Tramplevania touts belief in the cults of the supernatural, as their dealings earliest in the city were amongst the many superstitious citizens. Beliefs in the supernatural nowadays though are reserved for the descendants of the original settlers and the tourists, who visit to see the famous and much written about origins to everypony’s favourite monsters of legend.
Tramplevania is not as colourful as cities like Canterlot or Manehattan. The high humidity that comes from the mountains brings dense fogs on a nightly basis, and being a city where pegasi are a minority, the fog can never be completely cleared fast enough with whatever team of weather ponies that is pulled together, making the whole city look washed out and gloomy. Rarely does the sun ever shine through the clouds and the fog, so what little agriculture the city can sustain is confined to what ponies can grown in their planters and flower pots in greenhouses and their own homes.
Since agriculture is not a strong point for Tramplevania, the city and its citizens rely on tourism, thoroughfare, and transportation as its main industries. The city also serves as a hub for many adventurers and hunters that look to go deeper into the Alps, seeking employment in one of the few towns that sparsely populate the road to Ib’Xian, as seekers of mystery and adventure, or as guardians of caravans that lead through the mountains.
Tramplevanian Alps This mountain range has few paths that cut through the dense forest that covers its entirety. Pegasi can fly over the high peaks if they take care to avoid anything hungry with wings, but for those on hoof, the odds of a peaceful journey are incredibly slim. If it isn't the monsters that hunt unsuspecting travellers at all times of day, it is the bandits that ambush, rob, and leave them for dead.
Occasionally while travelling, somepony may come across the burnt shell of a town that was raided years ago by troupes of bandits, or left a ghost town from disease, famine, or other natural occurrences. Those few towns that are successful and able to hold their own against the elements frequently seek the aid of mercenaries, particularly those that specialize in monster hunting, in order to keep trade routes free and the populations of many dangerous beasts that come from the Alps in check.
Superstitions surrounding the forest itself are numerous, from tales of witches that dabbled in the most evil of forbidden magics, creatures that devour wayward adventurers whole, vengeful spirits of those who’ve died centuries ago, to devices and structures that had served sinister purposes in the past. Due to the nature of the creatures that inhabit it, and the amount of lives that it had claimed, the forest is deemed by many to be a sort of natural force of evil, attracting many wild and vicious beasts and growing in such a manner that many villagers would say that it simply “encroaches” on their settlements, looking to claim the land back for itself as though it was some infinitely hungry entity.
The ruins of the castle of an old lord of the mountains can be found farther north in the Alps, its ghostly silhouette visible on the few nights when the fog is lifted. The castle was long abandoned by its previous owners, for reasons that will only ever be addressed as rumours. Countless stories circulate about the previous Lord, how benevolent or malicious he was, how he ruled his land carelessly or with an iron hoof, how he died of a mysterious plague or was assassinated by his own friends. None of these stories can ever be proven, but the castle will always remain.
The Forgotten Castle What little is known about the castle is easily made up for with the tales of treasure that lie within its walls, waiting for the opportunistic adventurer to claim for themselves. Those that do take it upon themselves to journey up the mountains to the abandoned castle rarely come back, and those that did would tell tales of monsters and unspeakable horrors that befit the legends that surround the Alps of Tramplevania.
While overgrown and forgotten, the structure of the walls and many of the buildings are still in good enough shape to be left standing, and is a perfect window into culture and lifestyles of the earlier years of Equestria’s history, which brings to mind the fact that the castle looks as though the many occupants simply disappeared without a trace.
The greatest mystery, that of what happened to the Lord, his family, and the many ponies that served him, will most likely never be solved, whether it was the cause of evil magics, malicious intent, or unfortunate happenstance. The castle is now home to much of the same wildlife that the encroaching forests hide, lurking in the shadows of the dark corridors and preying on those foolish enough to enter unprepared.

We already talked this over before and this looked good to me then. It still looks good to me now.
