Two weeks into her stay in Canterlot, and Dawn already knew each and every chef at the mansion on a first name basis. The kitchen was her haven, and what she created in that place could only be described as abstract. She wasn't focused on taste, but moreover the artistic side of the food. How she could get it to look, and how she could get it to appear in the eyes of other ponies. That was always a tricky, yet amusingly fun thing to do.

It was after the third week that Dawn had an interesting idea. She had still not used the bag of flour that she had taken with her from Ponyville, and she had yet to make Sir Solaris a pastry. Why not make Sir Solaris a life-sized pastry of himself? And better yet.... why not make it a surprise? Dawn began planning, and got everypony in the kitchen on board to her crazy idea. Supplies had to be gathered, and everything was set up to be executed the night before Dawn would present it to Solaris. The inside, which was going to be filled with a certain creamy filling, was made by two of the chefs, while Dawn and the others worked on the body. On the side, another chef prepared the icing to color Solaris. It took them a grueling five hours to complete and assemble Solaris. They then placed it on a wheeling platform, that Dawn pushed to Solaris' bedchambers under the guise of the night, and waited for daybreak.

As was usual for the household, Solaris was up a little after Sunrise. He took about twenty minutes to smooth out the raggled mess his mane became overnight. Satisfied with his mane he put on a loose fitting shirt collared shirt that flared out near the cuffs.

Solaris opened his door stepped out and closed it behind him. Upon turning right to walk off he came face to face with... himself?

He immediately noticed the pony before him was made of frosting and cake. He stood there wondering for a moment how much time this must have taken. He stepped past it a little bit to look about, see if anypony was there."

Dawn peered through the legs of the pony as the real Solaris emerged. She smiled, mustering up all the courage she had to act, and lept out from behind the cake at the perfect moment in-front of Solaris. She had been hidden well, but now her surprise was out.

"SURPRISE!" she shouted cheerfully.

Solaris recoiled with a sharp "Ah!" as he took a few steps back. He started grinning once he realized it was Dawn.

"Did you make this?" He asked with a very surprised tone to his voice. "I know your mother told me you were a baker but I certainly wasn't expecting this!"

Dawn herself was scared by Solaris' surprised 'Ah!', and even squeaked a bit. It took her a few seconds to calm down, which was helped by Silaris' soon warm grin.

"Mhmm! I had some ponies in the kitchen help me with the filling, but I did the body." she told him.

"This is incredible, Dawn." Solaris complimented stepping closer to dawn and lowering himself to her eye level.

"How long did it take you?"

"It took us all five or six... uhm . . . maybe seven hours in the kitchen. I had some help from the bakers in there. They did the icing and the filling, while I sculpted the cake!" she beamed in his face, still very proud of this cake.

"Well, I'm very impressed." Solaris said offering a smile as he took another look of the cake.

"Shall we roll this back to the kitchen and share it with the cooks?"

Dawn nodded furiously. "Mhmm!~ I'd like you to have the head though! There's a surprise note in there." the cute filly told Solaris before heading to the back end of the cart and doing her best, which was actually all her lil filly body could handle, to push the cart to the kitchen. She seemed like she was really trying for him!
