It was the second time this week that Solaris made his way through Ponyville to the mansion smack-dab in the middle. It really stuck out compared to the rest of the place.

Solaris was wearing a long black coat that tapered off into a split 'v', Golden trimmed with a midnight blue on the interior. On his chest he wore his Bladecasting harness that blended stylishly into the coat so the white gold it was constructed of was barely visible, showing off the last three parts of his Platinum-iridium shardblade. It came down on his front legs, ending with cuffs slightly folded upward.

Solaris carried with him a bouquet of different colored freesias. He stepped up to the mansion's door at exactly 1:30, as he said and knocked firmly three times.

Arael had been pacing around in front of the door for about a half hour. Her eyes constantly checking the clock. Perhaps she shouldn't have gotten herself ready so quickly. Her simple, deep blue dress hung tastefully down to her ankles, her hair tied back in a pony-tail. She found herself lacking anything stylish in the way of a carrying bag or purse, but figured a small pocket underneath her wing would work just fine. For jewellery, a sapphire necklace and earrings to match.

And finally, the knock at the door arrived. She went to the door, took a moment to make herself as presentable as possible and opened it with a smile. "Sir Solaris. As punctual as ever." She said.

" I wouldn't want to keep you waiting." He said with a smile, taking a quick glance over what Arael was wearing.

"You look wonderful tonite." He observed as he floated over the bouquet of freesias with his magic. "For you."

Arael took the bouquet with a glad smile. "And he remembers the flowers." She says, taking one of the bluer ones and placing it in her mane. "I'll just set these down and then we can be on our way." She invited as she walked over to a nearby vase, placing the flowers inside. She made a note to add water to it when she returned home.

"Alright, shall we then?"

"You made it a point that I bring Freesias. So, I made it a point to deliver." He said with a chuckle.

Solaris smiled and moved to the side, waiting for Arael to step out before beginning to lead her to the train.

"You look tense though, how long were you waiting?"

Arael stepped out and waited for solaris to take the lead, Solaris mentioning that she looked tense only served to make her even more so. "D-Do I?" She asked. "I, uh, got ready really early. But I wasn't waiting long!" A small blush came across her face, though it would be clearly visible through her white fur.

Solaris chuckled dismissively in response "Its good to know I'm not the only one who's nervous." he said as he continued to lead the way to the train and eventually on it.

Solaris took a seat shortly after walking on "So, how is Dawn doing?"

Arael took a seat across from Solaris on the train. "She's doing well." She responded. "She's become very adept at the culinary arts. I think she might make a career out of it." She said. "That and she's doing better in school. She's been less shy since coming back from Canterlot too."

"Thats a bit of an understatement. Do you remember the life-size cake of me she baked? She certainly has a calling." He nodded with a smirk.

"It's good that shes starting to come out of her shell, so to speak. Social anxiety can be quite crippling. She doesn't have much to fear though: Her mother is a knight."

Arael blushed. "Oh, you flatterer." She said. "Oh my, that cake. That was a feat of engineering right there." That cake was a sight to behold, how they got that much cake to stand on its own was beyond her.

"How's Canterlot been?" She asked. "Well enough I hope."

"Canterlot's my home, theres not much to complain about." he said shrugging "Theres this one pony though thats getting on my nerves... Commander Short fuse." He shook his head a bit "Hes just opposes me on every single thing I try to get done in the government. I don't even know why." He chuckled a bit afterward.

"Other than that? Fairly good actually. Crime is down, spirits are high and a the military has just been getting phenomenal support from the populace."

"Hows Ponyville treating you?"

Arael rolled her eyes. "If he's bothering you so much, can't you do something about it?" She asked. She didn't like the idea of someone making one of her friends uncomfortable. Especially someone that she was now dating and admired greatly.

"Aside from the mischievous youth and the hard-of-hearing elderly, Ponyville's as quiet as it ever was. I swear there's something magical about that place that keeps it safe."

Solaris shrugged a bit at her question "Could I do something? Perhaps I could. But stopping him from opposing me borders on the control of free speech. What I want to accomplish isn't necessarily what other ponies want. It's their right to disagree."

He leaned back into his seat nodding "Perhaps it has to do with the element bearers? Whatever the reason: the town has always been a pillar of stability. Whenever something bad happens to Ponyville, things just seem to get fixed the next day."

"Hmm." Arael wondered. They way Solaris had put it, it sounded like this pony was just being plain rude to him. Oh well, some poneis you just had to put up with. "I could still go and beat him up if you want me to." Arael joked, poking her tongue out at Solaris.

Solaris laughed and then shook his head "Thank you for the offer but I don't think it'll come to that." He paused a moment before explaining.

"The gist of it is that I want Equestria's military to be more centralized and professional. Currently, the only standing force we have is the Royal Guard. They number only a few hundred trained ponies. The rest that make up the army proper are volunteers or levies provided by some of the larger noble houses from the frontier. I want to dissolve the nobility's right to have their own standing forces and move them under the direct command of the Equestrian Government." He explained talking at a very steady pace.

"Short Fuse doesn't want to upset the nobility so hes pandering to them." He shrugged afterward.

"Thats the basics of it but I don't mean to bore you with my work. Its actually been a few weeks since your training ended, how're the new duties going?"
