Somepony Call a Doctor; Livewire

Seraph had been looking for his resident doctor for a while now. His throat had been rather scratchy all morning. No doubt being in the mortal realm for such a long time was starting to take it's toll on him. Therapy, being a doctor, was his first choice of go to ponies for the mater, because hey, he's a doctor. "Doctor!" He called out into the empty halls of Ponyville Estate. His own echo was the only thing that replied. Why was this pony so difficult to locate all the time. He kept to himself, sure, but it was starting to get ridiculous, as if he was being intentionally avoided. "Where is that pony..."

Livewire stalked through the halls of Ponyville Manor, his landlord seeming to be calling out to him. The zebricorn had a bit more fun sneaking around, before walking up behind Seraph and dropping his illusion spell.

"You called, sir? Might my services be needed?"

This pony was an angelic being though. What possible use could he have for a doctor? A thought of another pony needing help crossed Livewire's mind. What if Seraph took him to a pony that recognized him from his old habit of 'taking on patients' off the streets? That wasn't likely to end well, so the zebricorn hoped that it was Seraph that was ailing from something.

Seraph looked behind him upon hearing the doctor's voice "Ah, Doctor Therapy." he said, greeting the hybrid "I've been looking everywhere for you. I--" he had to stop a moment to clear his scratchy throat" "I think I might have caught something." Aside from it being uncomfortable, it was also unnatural. Arael as for as he knew was fine, but she also hadn't been stripped of most of her angelic power like Seraph had. "You think you could take a look for me?"

Livewire mentally sighed in relief. It seemed as though the problem was with Seraph himself after all, and that was going to make his life a great deal less complicated. As a bonus, he might even get to operate on an angelic being, and that was a rare experience; Maybe even only once in his lifetime. He waved a hoof at Seraph back towards his room.

"I'd be glad to take a look for you, sir. If you'll just follow me back to my office, we'll see if we can't figure out the problem."

Seraph followed the Doctor into his room. He'd been inside a couple of times before for social visits., but never as an actual patient. "It's just a bit of irritation in the throat, but I don't want to risk it becoming something serious, you know?" he said, keeping the conversation afloat. Perhaps her was getting what a mortal pony might call 'a cold'. Just a minor illness of no real significance. If that was in fact the case, he could go about his day without any real worry.

The hybrid had a small metal table in the corner of his room, nearest to his next-door neighbor, a strong-looking Earth Pony. So far, he hadn't made too much effort to introduce himself to the stallion, outside their initial meeting when Livewire first moved in. He directed Seraph to the table.

"Just take a seat there, and we'll begin the examination. It should be harmless."

Well, it would be harmless for an angel. Any normal pony wouldn't be saying the same though.

Seraph sat on the table and waited patiently "So how does this work Doctor? I've never done this before." This was a new experience. Not exactly exciting, but new. He didn't expect it to be any big deal, nor did he expect any big changes to be made from this "illness".

"Well, it'll be simple, for the most part. I'll just run a few basic tests to see what your general health is like....as far as general health for an angelic being goes. I must admit that you'll be my first patient of a race such as yours. Still, my medical knowledge should be sufficient enough as long as your physiology is the same as a normal pegasus."

Livewire levitated over a few medical implements from his bed's side table, holding them out in front of Seraph.

"So, have you been anywhere other than Ponyville lately?"

Seraph thought for a moment "Well, I went to Canterlot a few times." he said, recalling all of his past activities. "But other than that. No, I've been here in Ponyville." Were there different dangers in different places? The concept of "illness" was relatively new to him.

"Hmmm...Canterlot..."

Livewire used a few medical tools to perform the normal tests that one would run, such as checking heart rate and the such. After a few minutes, he looked at Seraph, a solemn look on his face. There wasn't actually anything wrong with Seraph, outside having a minor cough, but it couldn't hurt to have a bit of fun at his landlord's expense.

"I'm...I'm not sure how to tell you this, sir. It appears as though you've contracted Six-Wing Sickness."

"oh-oh dear." Seraph said. The doctors face appeared as though it was something serious. "What's that? Is it serious?" If it killed him, he would just go back to the heavens and be locked up for the rest of his sentence. One does not simply conjure up a physical body after all. But he didn't want to leave yet. He had Midnight, and there were so many things that he still wanted to do.

"Well, there's a very good chance that you'll be growing two more pairs of wings in the immediate future, made of pure dark energy. After they consume all of your life force, it's very likely that you could die."

Seraph was an angel though, and Livewire was curious as to what happened when angelic beings died. Would they be resurrected, or would they stay in the heavens? Judging by the look on Seraph's face, it couldn't have been anything pleasant.

"Also, it's going to hurt a great deal. Sir...out of medical curiosity, what happens when an angel dies?"

"I'M GOING TO DIE?!" Sure it had sounded bad when the doc said 'dark energy', but if it was going to end his life, that was a whole other story. "N-No! I this can't be happening! You've got to cure me Doctor!" Dieing was no big deal in and of itself, but dark energy would mean more than just death for the angel. "There IS a cure right?!"

"Well, I've actually been working on a cure for that very disease for quite some time now, and I think I'm nearing the phase where the vaccine will be complete. If only I had some being of higher power then a regular pony to test it out on..."

There...there was no way that this was working. Was his landlord really so terribly versed in modern medicine and disease that he actually believed everything that the hybrid was saying? If so, then Livewire would be able to move up Operation: Blackout several months, if not years. Seraph's DNA was one of the few missing variables that he required.

"You mean you have a cure?!" Seraph asked, almost in a panic. He didn't want to die, especially not in this way. You have to give it to me!" He shouted. He had to have the cure. He do just about anything. He wondered now how something like this could even happen to him. "How does this even happen? I've stayed out of hazardous areas, I eat my vegetables, I even leave the tags on the mattresses!"
