Arael looked over to see that they were not alone in the room. Silent as ever, a certain stallion was tucked away in the corner of the room. Arael noted that she would never forgive herself if he found out who she was. And, given his profession, he was the second biggest danger to seeing through her cover aside from Solaris himself. She cast only the smallest smile for the shortest moment at the reply before making her way to sit beside the cart. "Hm, well I did skip dinner to make the train ride to here. Hopefully it won't bother the staff to ask for something..." she asked, trailing off. "So is Shortfuse the reason why we're waiting three weeks? If so I'm completely ready to give him a piece of my mind on his politics." she added, her voice hinting at the same annoyance that Arael had when Bella bumped into her.

Solaris smiled and shook his head "My manor doubles as a homeless shelter, the kitchen is basically open 24/7." He said heading for the door and opening it.
"Come on, we'll head to the kitchen and get you something to eat." He said, stepping through.
"And no, its not Shortfuse." He said smirking "I beat him when I got the army to form. The thing is this is my project, if I delegate it to someone else they might get it wrong."

"Oh, Of course." she replied to his comment about his manor, following him as he left the room. She audibly huffed as she heard Solaris' explanation on why they would be waiting three weeks. "A city full of leaders and politicians and the only one who can organize an army is Marshal Solaris Strike. Are you sure somepony else can't handle at least the first week of it?" she pressed.

"Its an experiment Arael." He said at first leading Arael around the manor.
"I'm working on a new hierarchy, combat doctrine and deployment patterns. I'm the one that drew it all up so, I'm really the only pony that can organize this army."
"If all goes well and I can get this approved by Princess Celestia its entirely possible we'll never have another situation like the just past war ever again."

Arael sighed in defeat, though she felt a relief of victory; she wasn't about to demonstrate some weird trance, though she hoped the subject wouldn't arise twice. "I understand. And I support you in this; your reasoning is nothing but convincing. If we have another war like the last one ever again it'll be too soon. What sort of combat doctrine are you thinking of drafting up?" she asked, still following him.

"It goes like this, instead of attacking another army head on: each army is split into groups, segregated by species. These armies always act in pairs, one is split up into species segregated groups whos job is to harry and delay an invading force as long as possible with hit and run skirmishing tactics." He explained.
"The sister-army is grouped traditionally and will fight traditionally but only when the enemy has been harassed enough. The two armies are never far apart from one another so when the tired invading force is engaged, they will almost always be fighting both of the paired armies in any committed engagement."
"See, I plan on making the empowerment trance a standard practice. So, I need to refine it enough that it wont harm anypony, this is why I need your help."

Arael just nodded as she thought about Solaris' plan of military tactics. She got the instant assumption that segregating the army groups by race might not have the greatest social or political impact, nor would splitting the main assault force into two groups where one rested and the other attacked. Of course, the second group might join the first group in a matter of moments as battle was a quickly tiring endeavor. But here she was, second-guessing a Marshall at military tactics. Whatever the trance was, it must have a powerful advantage. And now it was time to avoid the situation all over again. "Tomorrow." she stated. "I'm worn out after Dawn's antics today and the train-ride over here." she replied wearily.

Solaris kept his face pleasant and continued down the hallway.
"That sounds fine but... Could you at least tell me what I'm doing wrong? This is important." He said, looking over his shoulder a bit as he continued to walk.

Arael sighed as they walked. "It's nothing you're doing wrong. I'm just weary and hungry right now is all. My Empowerment Trance is going to be forced if I tried right now. Unless another would-be assassin up and appears in your manor." she stated, implying knowledge that Arael probably didn't know. This was no mistake.

Solaris stopped and turned to face Arael, noticing a huge problem.
"Arael. How is it that you know of an event I never mentioned to you?" Solaris said, his face now serious and his magic aura appearing over his shard-blade harness.
"I can be polite, spy. Drop the illusion."

Arael didn't budge in her stance, though he expression turned to worry. "The only illusion is how you're trying to appear safe. And if you must know how I bumped into a courier today in Ponyville this morning." she stated, sitting before him. "She told me that an assassin was loose in here and tried to kill some detective or so. I hope he wasn't after you. I worry about you, Solaris. Dawn and I both do." she added sincerely.

Solaris blinked and the aura on his sword disappeared. He looked conflicted a moment before turning around and nearing the door to the dining room.
"Right... Sorry." The door knob was surrounded in his magic and he stepped through, leaving the door open for Arael.
"Go ahead and tell the servers what you want to eat." He said as he moved over to one of the large set windows on the other end of the room.

Arael nodded and followed Solaris, feeling relief wash over her since she had managed to convince Solaris. She walked over to get one of the server's attention, politely asking for a dinner salad. She then moved over to where Solaris was, sitting beside him and staring out the window. "You aren't... in any danger now are you? She didn't know what happened to the assassin. She wouldn't tell. Nopony's out to kill you still, right?" she asked, her tone very worried.

Solaris sighed "I'll be fine, don't worry." He said turning to Arael and smiling.
"It'll take a bit more than mere subterfuge to lay me low." He said confidently. "Who told you about the assassin, anyway?"

Arael hummed in response to his words. She knew all too well he was hard to kill. Arael would, too. "Her name's Bella. Blue coat, cyan and yellow mane, triple-crown cutie mark. She says she's delivering messages between Equestrian officials and hears all the gossip. Ever met her?" she asked. Of course, Jane's handler would have included her current identity in their last meeting. Bella's true form would be known all to well.
