Fly Catcher
1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
2 Tbsp butter or margarine
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
Pinch cayenne pepper
1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
2 ounces crumbled blue cheese
2/3 cup barbecue sauce
4 onion rolls or hamburger buns, split

In a skillet, saute the mushrooms in butter for 2-3 minutes or until tender. Set aside and keep warm.

In a bowl, combine the next six ingredients; add beef and mix well. Shape into eight thin patties. Sprinkle half the patties with blue cheese. Place the remaining patties on top and press edges together firmly to seal. Grill, uncovered, over medium-hot heat for 3 minutes on each side. Brush with barbecue sauce.

Grill 10-12 minutes longer or until meat is no longer pink, basting and turning occaisionally. Drain the mushrooms. Serve burgers on rolls topped with mushrooms. 4 servings.

I'd love to try it but I don't know what cumin is. I never heard of it before.

Cumin adds a smoky flavor without adding heat.

Sorry Ruthi. I couldn't remember if it was you or Luci that doesn't like blue cheese. Cheddar may work.
