Everyone needs a little southern in there life every once in a while right? Well, this is pretty popular down here. You wouldn't believe how many Chicken & Dumpling Recipes are entered in at the World Chicken Festival each year. Oh and sis, it's in September, not August. This isn't my recipe for them but one that won a little while ago. Anyway, here ya go, the recipe......

Old Fashioned Chicken & Dumplings

Ingredients:

4 large chicken breasts
6-8 bouillon cubes
3 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup Crisco

Instructions:

Chicken: Cover 4 large chicken breats with water. Salt & Pepper to taste. Add 6-8 bouillon cubes; allow to summer until chicken is tender and well done. Remove chicken brother and allow to cool.

Dumplings: Mix all ingredients; gradually add cold water until pliable dough is formed. Roll out on floured surface; cut into one-inch squares.

All together: Bring to a boil. (Add canned chicken broth if you do not have enough from the cooked chicken.) Add floured dumplings, one at a time, to boiling broth. Add de-boned chicken to dumplings. Make sure dumplings are done through (only takes a couple of minutes after hitting that hot broth)
Serve and enjoy.
