Ok, so I've been asked to make cookies for my cousins grad party. Easy... BUT - I wanted to get fancy, and had the idea to make diploma's, but am having a hard time with my thought. I was thinking something along the lines of perhaps using pie crust with butter, cinnamon & sugar, and cutting out rectangles & then rolling them like paper & baking them, and top with powdered sugar & tie with pull n peel strips for ribbons... BUT - does that sound like it would work? How do you suppose I go about doing it? How would I prevent them from collapsing in the oven - any other ideas? It's next weekend, so I need ideas fast. Spanx! ;o) |

They sorta sound something like crepes. I don't think there is a way to keep them from collapsing. hmm |

Yeah my MIL said something about a crepe form or something, but I don't wanna have to buy one. I thought about maybe using crumpled foil??? I dunno. |

I was just thinking that, maybe using the nonstick kind, that might work. Don't think wax paper would help. Just a thought, but maybe bake them flat, and try to roll them up before they cool. That might be painful though, and the fact that some recipes tend to not take to that, they crumble up. I'd try the foil idea. Maybe do a test run or something. Good luck with it.

I've decided to go with my back-up idea, cause I don't have the time to experiment... I'm gonna make cutouts & cut out rectangles & then round the corners... Then I'm gonna put white icing on them, then paint food coloring swirls on the else to look like rolled paper & then paint a red tie/bow through the center. Does that sound good? |
