I will be constantly adding to this, whenever I find a good set. HITMONTOP Fighting Hitmontop came from the Johto region and resides in the BL tier. Choice Bander Hitmontop @ Choice Band Adamant Technician 252Attk/252HP/6Spd ~Bullet Punch ~Stone Edge ~Mach Punch ~Rapid Spin This is a CB Top. Since he isn't a very fast pokemon, he doesn't really need many speed EVs. Bullet punch can hit Gengar and Dusknoir, who switch in to absorb a fake out. Mach punch nails Blissey and Wigglytuff. I went with stone edge because you're very slow, so rock slide's flinches won't do shit. Rapid Spin is there for just a filler. It could be last resort spin support too. Scarfer Hitmontop @ Choice Scarf Jolly 252Attk/252Spd/6HP ~Stone Edge/Rock Slide ~Close Combat ~Bullet Punch ~Earthquake This set requires some prediction. It is fairly weak to Gengar and Flying Types. The choice between stone edge and rock slide varies if you want flinch hax or a high critical hit ratio. Close Combat gets STAB and is an almost guaranteed OHKO on Blissey. EQ can do lots to Metagross and decent damage to Steelix and Aggron, the two meanest threats in the UU metagame. Bullet Punch is so that you aren't walled by Gengar, Dusknoir, and Rotom. Life Orb Hitmontop @ Life Orb Adamant/Jolly Technician 252Attk/200SpD/58Speed ~Bulk Up ~Mach Punch ~Fake Out ~Earthquake I run a Hitmontop very similar to this. If you can get a bulk up in, its GG for one or two pokes. With LO, Bulk Up, Technician, anything is fucked up. Fake out for flinch, mach punch forSTAB. EQ for raw power. Walled by Gengar. Rapid Spin Hitmontop @ Leftovers Bold Intimidate 252Def/158HP/100SpD ~Rapid Spin ~Bulk Up ~Mach Punch ~Rest This guy isn't meant to do damage. He is support. Intimidate helps him stay alive longer, as does bulk up. Mach Punch for priority, and rest to heal off damage. Spin to clear the field of rocks. Bulked Up Hitmontop @ Leftovers Adamant Technician 252Attk/200Speed/58SpD ~Bulk Up ~Mach Punch ~Close Combat ~Bullet Punch With a bulk up, you are a beast. Bullet Punch fucks Gengar over, Mach Punch fucks everything else over, and Blissey won't like to eat a STAB'd bulked up close combat. I love Hitmontop and I hope that I did him justice! |

I was expecting the standard lead to be listed
You should add it to the list (even though its a smogon set, it's still worth a mentionAlso, a CB hitmontop won't be needing rapid spin. CB pokes are made to do as much damage as possible, not blow rocks and spikes away. You could have stealth rock as an option, then you can freely set up the rocks and confuse opponents into thinking you are a wall. well, it beats rapid spin, thats all Im gonna say. Better descriptions of the sets are also needed. We don't know what pokes the sets are able to OHKO/2HKO. All you have done is explain the moves a little (and not too well to be perfectly honest, lol.
Yes, we know it can, but would you stay in on a dusknoir and keep on using bullet punch? I wouldn't for one because it would use Will O wisp and cut my attack. Also, could you tell us how many BPs are needed to kill gengar? |

on the support set, I think you want impish, not bold bold cuts attack which means you do less damage than if you had impish |

Lol, i clicked this topic in hope to get a laugh seeing angel doing a spectulation, and my expectations where right, you made me chuckle. Ok first: Why the fuck is hitmontop bl, probably should be mentioned in the tier list discussion but you people obviously have no understanding about what the fuck tiers are meant... Bl is a ban list for uu, why yes, hitmontop is pretty broken in the uu metagame. Rotom can't take it on now that ls wants to make hitmontop broken and somehow able to defeat rotom. Other than that, the comments were lol, and lol at the sets...A scarf hitmontop...Ok, sure, that works...Lawl...And this analysi is just unprofessional, "I use" "this set was used by me", stuff like that makes your analysis look like lol and you're basically convincing the reader to use this set just because you use it and like it... "If you can get a bulk up in, its GG for one or two pokes." GG = Good game, meaning the battle has been complete and both the opponents say that they had a good game, how the fuck does killing two pokemon mean a good game, unless they're the last 2 pokemon, then there is no reason to say "gg". And no need to use insultive words or cusing, unless you realized you're an idiot who'll never get friends whilst writing your analysis. The most common hitmontop set is the cc / edge / bp / rapid spin one, who the fuck would run that set of yours, it's just more terribly walled by rotom... And lmao, if hitmontop is bl on ls, which it shouldn't be, then how the fuck are you meantioning using it in the under used metagame against steelix and steel types idiot? Also to add to the unprofessional comment, you just said "I love Hitmontop and I hope that I did him justice!", aight, so you're basically convincing people to use him because you love him, and analysis terrible sets will get more people to use him...Aight, you win, everyeon's going to use him <_<. You obviously have no knowledge about the under used metagame nor about competitive pokemon for that matter, your childish insults and bad use of grammar is also making me laugh even harder at your patheticness. |
