Ok so before we start we need to talk about some of the salaries these players have and what to do if they aren't drafted. Guys like G. Stanton (25 Mil) Kershaw (35.5 Mil) Greinke (34 Mil) and I can go on for days about guys who are avg making 15+ Mil... I see 50-100 guys who are virtually undraftable based on their real life salary. I don't know about the rest of you but I see this as a huge problem. We will have tons of talented players go undrafted. I don't see that as being good. So I have two questions.... A) Can we do anything about this before the draft? What's the process after the draft for signing these guys that go undrafted? Are they FA's that can be signed starting at 40% of their real life contract? When we started this league guys like A-Rod and Pujols sat unsigned because their contracts were so ridiculous that you couldn't justify it in a league like this. I don't think having studs like Kershaw, Scherzer and many more like them going undrafted is good for the league. I don't know how to fix it though. When we started this league we had over half the league who couldn't fill out a roster because player salaries are so high. Elsbury should be owned but never will because he is getting 18+ Mil in real life. He's not worth half that in this league. Tanaka is making 22 Mil and he's barely worth 10 in this league. I think you got my point. Just something to discuss for the new guys and to see if we can fix any issues we may have. It took the league a few years at least to recover from the draft and I don't want that to happen again.

I think it'd be fine to leave them undrafted and then get to have some fun bidding war stuff after the draft for guys that didn't take them. I thought about it but I don't think there's a good way to do it. Well have room (cap and roster) after the draft anyway is my outlook. |

I initially thought I'd be ok with that too but then I started looking at how many players will go undrafted and it's a bit scary... I don't know either what we can do but I think it's worth looking into. Maybe a higher cap number for year 1? Not a huge fan of that but it's an option. Maybe if you draft a guy like Kershaw or Stanton you only have to pay the ridiculous contract for 2 years as opposed to the whole thing? It's tough but we are gonna have quite a few players undrafted if we don't come up with something. Not the end of the world but it will make year one fairly ugly. |

We started with $100M in 2011. You could look at MLB inflation since 2011, and average it out, then take that inflation percentage X $100M and add the overage to our cap. That would be the most objective way to do it. So if MLB cap inflation was 20%, our starting cap would be $120M. It would all be relative. |

I like $120, it seems fair. |

Average MLB Team Salary in 2011: $105,549,000 Average MLB Team Salary in 2018: $117,684,000 Inflation $12,135,000 or 11.5%. Add $11,500,000 to $100,000,000 (starting Dynasty League cap for 2011) for an inflation adjusted Dynasty League cap of $111,500,000 |

You didn't start with $100mil in the old league, my salary cap was around 96-97 mil. Starting with $111 seems too easy |

Hartford said it was $95M in 2011. So I said add 11.5% to that. |

When we started, it was 85 mil, just checked the old rules. original MiLB cap was 17.5 11.5% inflation to each gives 94.775 as new MLB cap and 19.5125 as new MiLB cap. I added to each of these in my initial rules. Can we stop crying yet? Lol |

It's fully vetted now. Caps are good IMO. |
