Question: hypothetical three-teamer (Trade) where A gives player and 30% cap to B in exchange for players/picks. C pays 30% of Cap on that player in exchange for more talent from B. The total paid on contract is over 50% but no one team carries more than 50%. Saves C from having to acquire player from A, in order to then ship that player to B with the required Cap. That allowed? Or must the two deals be separate?... and more generally, can a players contract be more than 50 covered (by some combination of the other teams in the league)? Answer: Jake Radack No more than 50 covered in a single deal. If two separate deals are made, 50 can be covered each time, doesn't relieve the original team from paying tho. If it's a 3 team deal, 50 can be split between two teams, but not more |
