[align=center]Merry Christmas
By Zach Ritter

Merry Christmas! As you read this in the paper you're most likely drinking coffee, watching it snow, looking on as your children excitedly open Christmas presents. As you read this you're probably buttering pumpkin bread and serving out oatmeal or some other warm breakfast to the family. The tree is glowing with lights and tinsel, you're chasing your toddler around because he stole a precious ornament off the tree. The fire is lit. Stockings are full. Your house is full of Christmas cheer and buzzing with family...

Except...you're not.

Instead, we're mourning the death of many, many people. The only mention of the hunters will be here: They are suffering, too. Remember that. But to us it's something different. We live a different life. We are suffering different people. Family. Mothers. Fathers. Sons. Daughters. Babies. They've come here and slaughtered our children. My condolences to the Spencer family as well the Libba family. Precious souls gone because of war. Young casualties that mean nothing to killer, but everything to us.

Traitors are among us. Be careful who you trust. Yuri Raikov, a beloved one of our own...a traitor. Left by his own people because of his choices. Left by his wife, who saw the evil inside him. Viktor is dead, unfortunately. We mourn the death, but not the loss of their lives who aren't faithful. We need to weed out the traitors, the hunter lovers, the Myyttinens unloyal! This war is a reminder of who we are and who they are! Remember the days of old when we fought for our superiority. We are Myytinnens! Remember!

I've been informed by my sources that we also have hostages. Some alive, some not. At this point in time I will let that detail remain unknown until further notice. Lucifer sent out a team to rescue Viana Libba. Xerxes Derry, Brekkin Raikov, and Jack Dorsal were called in for the task. They came back with the unnecessary death of the toddler, and Viana weakened as she had been abducted. She chose to leave Yuri there. We all know why. Next, it was brought to my attention that the team of three brought back an unconscious Rilien Lithmiel. Lucifer now has custody of Rilien, Ford, Declan, and Colton. We know who they are. We take pride in the fact that things seem to be in our favor at the moment.

Please, help me see if we can end the war. End the deaths. No, we don't take part in hunter beliefs, but we take happiness in life. Spare a loved one's life, and let's move on. There doesn't seem to be an end in sight as of yet, but maybe soon.

Merry Christmas, from my family, to yours.

[align=center]Cease Fire
By: Zach Ritter

"Cease fire! Hold your fire! The war is over. We go home. Do not kill any more. I repeat, do not."

Those are the words that ended our war. Our Christmas War, if you will. Certainly something to put into the history books. I was in the forest with my best friend and his brother and uncle. I'll admit I didn't kill anyone, I honestly don't think I could have. But I did create chaos for other Myyttinens to take advantage of. I was amidst the firing of guns and using of powers. I was there. Just like a good reporter and writer.

But it doesn't come without emotional attachment. I watched my best friend nearly drown and dehydrate hunters. I watched someone shoot and kill a hunter boy that had to have been under 17. I hear screams, from both men and women, children. Coming out of the forest and heading home I saw children running across the field back toward the camp. No doubt they were now orphans, parentless. You know the Bible says to take care of the widows and orphans. I wonder how both sides will repair. I wonder how they'll aid each other in the grieving everyone must do.

I don't have anyone to grieve for, except for the general grieving one does when they are a part of a war. But remember, fellow Myyttinens, WE WON! Don't take it lightly, though. This war is just one of many. It's one more on the bedpost of our hate toward the hunters. I really don't know if it will ever really end. It's a hatred that's lasted since the beginning of time, almost. But congratulations on winning. Because if we hadn't, there's no doubt we only had so much more up our sleeves.

Happy New Year's. Yeah, it was a few days ago, but this is how we bring it in. With cleaning up and moving on. Also, I was told the Christmas Tree in the heart of Daunt will be taken down at the end of the week. Take some time to go down there and wish the dead a Merry Christmas. Because remember, where we live, in our world, death isn't always final.

Peace be to all the souls,

[align=center]What is Love?
By: Zach Ritter

What is love? Is it a sensual attraction between two people? Is it a daily comfortable presence? Is it simply a silent feeling that is unexplainable? The definition of love is actually in the Webster's dictionary. However, I think love is different for everyone. It's different for every couple. I've had the privilege of seeing love at work several times this month, between different people, and their love is so very different in each relationship.

I waved goodbye to a family friend as he went to Africa to wed his bride. That couple had their ups and downs, broken up and come back together several times. Hell, he even almost hit her with a car and she still married him. Their relationship is so simple, easy, and movie like. But it's also the only one of its kind that I witnessed.

My friend's uncle nearly killed his girlfriend. I don't think that's love, but it's what he learned from that situation that the love manifests itself. This is a man that shows much emotion and understand it very little. But I think he learned that love may die, but it never disappears altogether. It comes back, because love is something we can't hide from. So stop hiding!

Finally, I watched as friends from the past were brought together to rekindle something special. I got to witness a story of a guy rescuing his girl from herself. Each and every one of these couples is unique, and so is their love. Whether or not their time together is eternal, their together today and for this moment. I think it reminds us that we need to keep that love and not take it for granted, because you don't know for how long you're going to have it.

Love each other, make love, be love. I have a date with a pretty girl tonight.

Love endures all things

Home Is Where The Heart Is

by: Zach Ritter

Home is where the heart is.

Oh, how cliche. However, it's very true, and it holds meaning for many people. Our hearts, regardless of what 'home' we're talking about, pull us where it wants us to. Sometimes people argue that we also have a mind, and we can use it to make certain decisions. However, it's not really all that accurate.

Our hearts are happy at home. It doesn't matter if that home has a difficult past, abuse or a shady presence, it's home. Venturing out toward anything different is terrifying, so we always, always go home. There are a milliong different places a person can go. Places that are full of people with the same interests, beliefs, or morals. There are places where people can be a part of their heritage or enjoy different types of homes with different types of people. SOmetimes the heart can change, and call a new place home. But more times than not the heart calls you and pulls you back to where it all began, because that's where it's comfortable.

Lea Dorsal is a perfect example of that lately. Her home life was nothing short than a mortal CPS call. She moved on and to the academy, found herself a part of the Vapahtaja, found a little home, and eventually a job with Libba Co. But then something happened. Her heart called her home. Even though her childhood home was full of awful memories, she wanted to go home to new York. Lea disappeared into her head because her heart was unhappy. Eventually it came out that she wanted to go home. Home is cathartic. Children are known to love their parents even though they inflict abuse and damage on them. They still want to go home.

It doesn't matter where you are at the time, eventually you're heart will call you home. Being home is never perfect, and things happen that downright piss you off, the people around you are jerks and you really just want to leave. But it's home, so you stay.

GO HOME!!
