Gone in Sixty Seconds

A so-so car chase movie that thinks it has good enough screenplay to be dramatic.

5/10

Which one? Because the original is fucking incredible.

Death to Smoochy

7/10. Strong, suspenseful ending. Might have been better if it relied less on humour, but I still think that the balance was pretty good. Robin Williams as the crazy ex-kid-show-host was awesome. Catherine Keener, yet again, does a fantastic job. Jon Stewart wasn't that great. Danny DeVito was (of course) great. Edward Norton was awesome.

The 2000 film with Nicolas Cage. Being a hardcore auto fanatic, my eyes were reluctantly glued to the screen.

The French Connection

This movie feels dated, but I haven't got a problem with that. Reasons: The acting is flawless and totally shines, the story is remarkably told, and I honestly can't think of a single good reason to slam this brick of movie gold.

If you want to see a classic film that's got brains and brawn, TFC is a must see. *chuckles*

Superbad

In my (much disputed) opinion, better than Knocked Up. I left the theatre glowing with happiness. What a brilliant comedy.

Oh, rated R. That's bullshit, they're alienating the main audience of the film.

Yeah, I saw Superbad yesterday with my friend, 10/10. Hilarious.

I had a bit of a movie night with my friend yesterday, I'll rate all the films we watched (In order of what we watched first to last).

Little Miss Sunshine

10/10. Absolutely perfect. In my opinion, this film has no flaws whatsoever.

Dogma

8/10. Amazingly clever with a brilliant script, yet had way too many people overacting.

King of New York

6/10. On Empire's top 250 greatest films you haven't seen. It's great seeing Christopher Walken in a leading role, but it's a shame that the film almost completely lacked plot.

Dawn of the Dead (Remake)

9/10. Still a great adrenalin rush.

Pulp Fiction

10/10. Holy shit. The dialogue was incredibly well done. That final scene, in the diner, incredible.

Se7en

10/10. Slow at first, but really picked up. The last half hour made me so tense. Kevin Spacey is the creepiest person ever.

Quality selection. I recently borrowed a bunch of films to kickstart the holidays bingefest. I'll review them once I get around to watching.

Yeah, I've decided I'm going to use these holidays to cross off as many films as I can off of my movie list.

Off topic, but I was wondering, what kind of holidays do you guys get off school in Australia? (This probably should have its own topic)

Done and done.

Punch Drunk Love

Surreal, bizarre. Adam Sandler is great.

8/10

Elephant

Nice cinematography but story is lacking (dialogue mainly). Very scary representation of the Columbine school shootings.

7/10

Pretty hilarious if you let yourself relax, I'll give it 6/10 for shitty story/acting.

And I only saw the first half hour because cinemark lost power twice and kicked us all out with rainchecks for compensation.
Guess what! I'm writing a book called Nuclear Winter!

That's a pretty stupid thing to say.

Kill Bill Volumes 1 and 2

8/10. Highly pretentious. Unfortunately clunky dialogue (Which was a big let-down seeing that it's a Tarantino film). Strangely good though. The Bride's fight with the Crazy 88s in the first one was one of the best fight scenes ever.
