World Trade Center Whilst I dislike Nick "How'd It Get Burned" Cage, he managed to pull off a decent performance in this intense film about the roles of the various firemen, police officers and paramedics on September 11th, 2001. To call these guys heroes is an insult to what they did. I started the movie expecting to see Cage running around shouting "America!" and saving babies but surprisingly, the film defied my expectations. Cage and his squad get completely buried in rubble in the first half hour of the film, with the majority of the story devoted to their survival in the underground hell, and the emotional hardships their families endure. This could so easily have been a ripe turkey, with cliches abundant, but not so. Better than United 93, in my esteemed opinion. The heroic struggle this film documents is truly an amazing thing to behold. Religious references and the occasionally sub-standard acting (Cage yelling repeatedly like an ape) bring the realism down a little, but this film is a solid 8/10 |

I'd say 'the world' (i.e. your slutty Rotten Tomatoes database) disagrees, but I'm actually interested in seeing this now.

The reason you don't say the world disagrees is because that is false. The world agrees. "A visually stunning, heartfelt, politically muted film." |

Ah, "I think you'll find" that Rotten Tomatoes believes that United 93 is a better film. |

Thirded. Saw Hot Fuzz last night, le premiere style. 10/10, it couldn't have been any more perfect. Genius. Pegg/Wright/Frost at their best. Plus references galore! Also, Mars, I dislike Nicholas Cage also, though it does seem to me that for every three bad films he's in, he's in one good one. |

Kenny - 10/10, wow, I'm very generous with perfect ratings. But this film IS perfect. Kenny is a fantastic mockumentary, and I believed all of it until the credits, seriously, that's how realistic it is. Flawlessly acted. Ugh, brilliant. |

Kenny was brilliant. "There's a smell in here that'll outlast religion!" Also, Romeo + Juliet The Baz Luhrmann version. 10/10 Mindblowing. |

Again, beat me to it. Fucking incredible piece, however we can't go past Kevin Hu's review (a guy in my class) "That was so gay! Romeo is gay, and this Baz faggot should be shot." He's a classy mother. |

Have you two only seen Romeo+Juliet just now? Wow. And to Mars' rating of the film, agreed. |

Don't even start the "I saw it before you" bullshit. Lest I drop the familiar names of "Taxi Driver" and "Raging Bull." Unless you directed the film, we're all on an even playing field. |
