Well, I got the laptop. It's awesome. I really like a ton of the features it's got. I can't downgrade to XP, so I'm going Vista.

It was broken a full 3 minutes after starting it up for the first time.

I feel, however, that this 'glitch' was not of much importance. The computer thought it was 12:36 AM as apposed to 10:36 PM. It thought it was the next day. It would not let me change the date. This was probably because it didn't have the DST patch, and because it tried to adjust to the time zone in Missouri.

When it finally booted, I was overwhelmed with the newness of Vista. I quickly removed the sidebar, and all the 'gadgets' they had installed.

I spent the next half-hour of my life UNinstalling all the crap they gave me. There was even a link to eBay. On my desktop.

Connecting to the internet is easy, assuming your uncle WRITES DOWN his WEP code, instead of forgetting where he stored it on his crash Office...

Then we tried to connect his USB stick so I could get some programs, and... Well, just see the attached file. The computer thought the USB drive was inserted in the CD drive. And on top of that, it said there was nothing connected; directly contradicting itself. Can you say, ' lol, windows'?

At any rate, Micro(take note: NOT Macro)soft has released enough patches for me to at least survive with Vista. The guy at Circuit City put things into perspective: "The day Vista came out, we didn't have a single printer in here that could work with it!" Vista comes with .NET Framework 3.0 installed, so iStory Creator should work like a charm. (Yeah... It's a good thing Creator works with a manual install, cause something's crazy, and Vista doesn't realize that .NET 3.0 > .Net 1.1...)

That said, I'm enjoying my laptop enormously. my 13 hours drive home today seemingly just got better.

Freakin' sweet.

I'm on it now. It's faster than any computer I've seen. Ever. And Vista's okay, too. Like a hyped-up XP. Without the patches. And with more bugs. AND NOT ISTORY CREATOR COMPATIBLE. At least, at the moment... They might release a new .NET, but then, they said:

"The .NET Framework runtimes are components of Windows Vista, and their user interface (UI) language components are now integrated into the Windows Vista UI language set."

So why did it come with 3.0? Why does it not work? Why would I have to pay $99.00 USD to e-mail some retard from Windows or $249.00 to talk to a guy in India whose like, "I am sorry, Mr. Fuiji. Viiista is two stoopid to understand that it has what it needs twice over. And it still will not work, you say? I blame 'user error'. You are stoopid, Mr. Fuiji. No! Do not hang up. I will tell your mother! Crap. He hunged up. Silly Americhan."

Damn.

QUESTION: Is that a bottle of Bawls in your avatar or a water bottle?

REMINDER: Read Just For The Night

im sure your graphics card absolutely pwns my MacBooks graphics card (in-built mind you).

Once I get some money, I might start upgrading my PC and NOT putting Vista on it.
Don't take drugs kids.
