I've been listening Radiohead a lot recently, and I just wanted to talk a bit about it. It takes patience to enjoy their music. You have to know how to listen to music to appreciate their brilliance. You have to have a good ear to hear all of their parts, most of them complete the chord or phrase and thus, the song itself. But it pays off. I've never heard a band more MUSICAL than Radiohead. Sure other band can make nice rifts, can write melodic songs, and compose elegant lyrics. But they can't take LIFE and put it into a song like Radiohead. Every last one of their songs is golden, perfected as much as possible. Not a single song goes unnoticed, nor is any one song painful to listen to (save Fitter Happier, although the lyrics are quite nice). Such appreciation for music doesn't go unnoticed. I know many people who like Radiohead, but I think many don't enjoy them to their full potential. Radiohead's knowledge of musical theory far surpasses that of which an average person can identify in an ordinary song. Like I said earlier, other bands can play nice songs, but they're not the same as Radiohead's. They're not as complete. They're not as beautiful. Not as pleasant, relaxing and fulfilling as Radiohead. Listening to Radiohead completes my life, and improves rough days dramatically. Thank you Radiohead. Love, Stormbreaker I apologize for ranting. I really only meant to write a couple sentences. I just got carried away. Post what you want. Comments, ideas, or share your own appreciation for Radiohead. Thanks again for the music, Mars. Peace. |

I've had pretty much the same experience as you with Pink Floyd. I didn't really like them at first, but when I paid more attention to the meaning of the lyrics and music as a whole, I've developed a strong appreciation their music. It's not music that I just hear anymore; it's music I can feel. |

I like both of those bands a good bit (so far as to own (but not legally, I wouldn't go that far) almost all of their albums), and quite agree with you. |
Guess what! I'm writing a book called Nuclear Winter!

The Wiki over Yorke is almost depressing. "Yorke has claimed to have never listened to Radiohead records after they are released, and it appears this will be the case for the forthcoming album. "I will dread listening to it all after we have left in the real world. I always dread that. I'd much rather start something new and forget," Yorke wrote in Radiohead's blog in 2006.[7]" No wonder he was depressed. |
